If you haven't seen the other pics so far, go check them out in the other threads. I've had some requests to see a character completed, so I set aside the third squad briefly to assemble a captain. Hope you like it.

I'll repost their fluff here, but understand that I'm posting the fluff for people to look at the pictures in context. It is not an open invitation to vent your geek-rage about the existence of female space marines. Some Quick Fluff Notes for those who missed the last thread: The Valkyries of the Omnissiah are Space Marines. They are modified from regular human females using geneseed just like other chapters, except that their geneseed only works on females. They are not something that "Counts As" Space Marines. The Background for them is that the two missing legions and their primarchs were female during the great crusade. During the Heresy, they remained loyal to the Emperor, but were nearly destroyed during the conflict. Rouberte Guilleman was many things. A brilliant tactical commander, a keen administrator, and an immovable chauvinist. With his unique position of power following the heresy, he had an opportunity to reshape the Imperium as he saw fit. There would be no place for female astartes in his new empire, and the survivors from the two female legions were killed, their names expunged from all records, and their remaining geneseed stocks ordered destroyed. It was only after this display of ruthlessness that the remaining primarchs consented to have their legions broken up into chapters. They could see that Guilleman would go to any length to see his plans implemented. The story might have ended there, but the Adpetus Mechanicus of Mars have always followed their own agenda. Guilleman ordered all geneseed stocks on mars moved to terra, in order to limit the power of the mechanicus, and commanded any remaining female geneseed destroyed. Under the threat of war, the Fabricator General handed over the remaining stocks of male geneseed, but sealed sealed away the stocks of female geneseed instead of destroying them, into endless vaults of the red planet. Ten millenia later, The Adeptus Mechanicus of Mars has determined that the Imperium is too weak to survive, and has begun a military build up that will culminate in the destruction of the Adeptus of Terra. As the determined date approaches, the vaults of mars have been unsealed, and the geneseed of the lost legions is being used, in secret, to create genetically modified warriors that can match the Adeptus Astartes in the coming war. The Valkyries of the Omnissiah are a shadow force that answer only to the Fabricator General of Mars. Only those highest in the Machine Cult hierarchy even know of it's existence. It's deployment is always preceded by a communications blockout that masks their involvement and limits the possibility of exposure. Nevertheless, rumors have circulated from time to time, and the fear of their discovery prematurely triggering the inevitable war between mars and terra means that they are deployed only under the most dire of circumstances. A few technical notes: Their Mark XI power armor utilizes newer materials developed from STC fragments unearthed in the catecombs beneath Diab. Consequently the armor is thinner and lighter then bulky ceremite plates, but provides nearly identicle ballistic and energy wepaon protection. Female Space Marines have a muscle tissue vastly different then that of a normal astartes. During the development of geneseed, it was found that the simultaneous muscle twitch fiber that had been developed would deteriorate when exposed to the hormone balance in a male astartes, so that part of the project was abandoned, and male astartes were modified to have larger muscles instead. The simultaneous twitch fibers, however, could be sustained in a female astartes hormone balance, and their geneseed still contains this powerful modification. Subsequently, female astartes have comparable strength to their male counterparts, but do not require a large musclebound physique. Also note that, while Valkyries are much taller then the average human female, they are shorter then their male astartes counterparts, with a much slimmer build.

Man, that's the joy of Anime! To revel in the complete and utter wastefullness of making an unstoppable nuclear-powered combat andriod in the shape of a cute little girl, who has the ability to fall in love and wears an enormous bow in her hair. |

I think you have a good point. I took the model back out and re-evaluated some things, and I think you'll like the result. First, I added more detail to the gun, including a rail underneath that's hard to see in the pics but looks really good. Second, I added a scroll to her back, which contains the names of every marine her company has killed. Third, I added decorations to her power pack, the blades forming a pattern over her head similar to the way a iron halo looks. Lastly, I added a banner to her weapon, which I always wanted to be a staff rather than a spear, and this clears that up nicely.

Let me know what you think. ^_^

Okay, I always try to add something positive, or at the very least some constructive criticism... but these conversions don't make it easy for me. Sorry, but that's how it is. To me, they look awful. I've been trying to figure out what it is about them that I don't like. It's not, as some people have commented before, the arms being too thick. They are, and could maybe do with being shaved down a little (or, if you can afford more sprues, be replaced by Eldar arms), but they look okay to me. It's not the backpacks (which are too small), it's not the heads (which are getting better - the ones with those huge ponytails were frightening), it's not the converted guns (which are just plain weird). It's the lower part of the body, the High Elf skirt. (It is High Elf, isn't it? Or is it Bretonnian?) I just don't like it. GW can say what they like about 40k and WFB parts being compatible, I just don't see it. It's like those god-awful IG armies that all have Bretonnian peasant bitz in them. The skirt is just wrong. Lose that, maybe replace it with Howling Banshee (or other Eldar legs) and you'll have a piece of fried gold. I love the concept though, and I admire you for following it through. And, at the end of the day, who the hell cares what I think? Do you like them? If so, enjoy them.

I thank you for the suggestion. When I was testing out different ways to do this, I tried Howling Banshee legs and eldar arms. The main problem is that the diffenece between a howling Banshees waist and the waist of the torso I'm using is too huge to overcome with greenstuff. It looks like a barrell with legs coming out of it. So, if you use the Howling Banshee legs you have to use the howling banshee torso or a guardian torss. Either way, they are so tiny that the scout arms I'm using look ridiculously huge and close together. If you think the arms look too big now, you should see them on a banshee or guardian torso. So, you have to use eldar arms with an eldar torso, and if you use eldar legs, torso, and arms, then what you end up with just looks like a new kind of aspect warrior, which is not what I am trying to acheive. The other problem is that Eldar armor is so distinctive that it instantly clashes with any imperial bitz you put them with, and test models that contained any kind of eldar parts were always instantly mistaken for guardians by anyone I showed them to. Lastly, the imperial guard army with the bretonnian conversions is probably one of my favorite armies of all time, so it seems we have vastly different tastes. No to say that your taste is any better or worse then mine, just different. Still, I thank you for your time and input.

I think the problem here is that you're starting to overdo things, and not using an appropriate model. Take the spear for instance - it's HUGE, and then you stuck a flag on it - but the model is in a pretty boring, static pose, so she just looks like a goofy chick with a big spear. Think about GW models that come with gigantic weapons - they usually have dynamic poses that allow the figure and weapons to emphasize each other in positive way, instead of just drawing attention to the size and static nature of the pose. I think you're also overdoing it with the weird gun design and the kooky backpack. Try making things a little simpler on future models, tweak the poses where possible (which I realize is a pain for your because of the skirts you're using) and just add the extra stuff as little decorations, instead of making it overwhelming.

I like it, other than the spike thingies on the backpack. The gun used to look pretty crap, but now looks good, although I still have no idea what it's supposed to represent.

This is by far one of the girls i like the least. Like 'best said, the pose is horribly static but hard to work with (trust me,i know.my elite chaos marines are made from fantasy chaos knights.all the legs the same). The spear is ridiculous too.Use some piping to make a normal, straight shaft and work over it with GS or add bitz to it.,keep the banner though.it looks nice. The gun is a little too not-really-champion-like:its too clunky and large compared to the slick, stylish guns your other marinettes have. My best suggestion is to change the gun arm to make it point to weapon somewhere, maybe even follow the direction by making the head face the same way. Still, what do i know too I admire your determination to make them no matter what and cant wait for their ride!

Marinettes. I like that. I think you have a good point about the pose and such. I'm going to set her aside and finish off the third squad. Perhaps the solution is to use a different model altogether as a base, like Mira The Rechless from Confrontation. Oh, and for those of you wondering what the weapons are, they are a lightning staff and a radiation pistol.

I traded for them, bought halvsies with a lot of new dark elf players, and bought a whole bunch of DE warriors and then sold off the rest of the sprue online. It took me almost a year, but I was able to get more then an hundred torsos, so I'll have a full company before I run out.

Um... what? This is a great, pose, but I have no idea what I'm looking at.
If you're going to do female space marines, then do female space marines. Give 'em the real shoulder pads, bolters and backpacks, end of story.
I respect trying to keep the model slender, but it doesn't look like it's coming off well.
Good job trying though...
