Star One - a great one-shot band by Arjen Anthony Lucassen (a man of many, many talents) that features songs based on various science fiction movies and series. The one I linked is Intergalactic Space Crusaders, based on the fantastic BBC show Blake's 7, a sci fi show from the 80s. The band's actually got another CD coming out in October called Victims of the Modern age, with songs based on movies with dystopian futures.
Anyways, that's my plug of the day.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

WOW... I listened through the entire Star One song posted above.
I feel... sticky. I used to like Blakes 7 as a kid. Now I am reminded of Europe with 'The Final Countdown', but even geekier lyrics. I love the idea of the project, but the delivery sounds like it crawled out from under a hollow rotten 80s log. Does the rest of the album sound like that or does the sound change from song to song? I love the idea but I never really liked Europe much.
btw how do you guys put the direct video in your posts instead of just a link? just curious and computer-illiterate...

Of all the races of the universe the Squats have the longest memories and the shortest tempers. They are uncouth, unpredictably violent, and frequently drunk. Overall, I'm glad they're on our side!
