agree on the bolter but i dont remember seein this guy anywhere either.old cast or not,i'd say that even if its fake,i'd buy it were i doing IG.

What are you talking about? That bolt pistol is exactly the style that came out in 3rd edition!?! As far as authenticity, GW has been known to not release figures to the public, but still casting up a handfull and giving them away to staff and valued customers, buisness partners and so forth, or doing truly limited edition stuff, like Sgt. Centurius (who, MIB has fetched $100 or more in the past).

From the pics provided, that doesn't look to be a recast, though that is really something one can't tell without having the figure in hand and even then it might be impossible without a known original casting.

Also note the miniature tag, it does clearly say "GW" and after that "98", which would be about right. His story of it being a test piece that was proving difficult to cast properly/easily also rings true, as that does indeed happen.

The owner of that figure posted info about it on the "CollectingCitadelMiniatures" Yahoo groups mailing list.

Apparently, it's a legit unreleased figure...

It is a legit unreleased figure. I've got half a dozen pics on my hard drive of various auctions that figure has appeared in and in each one he's clearly an original cast of good quality. Moreover, he's been confirmed to have been done as a gw sculptor trainee's training work in the late nineties.

$109 is pretty damn good for a figure that likely only exists in the form of 100 copies (at the most). I'd pay that much for an unreleased figure of that rarity. Hell- people pay more for that for released limited edition figures (GW staffer christmas gifts for example) that are out there in numbers literally an entire order of magintude larger then this one.

That is exactly how I feel, Marcus..I collect rare figs..and something is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay...And I think I walked away with a bargin ....Thats why I got it...
