The game was a blast and I'd like to thank Lazarus for making a fresh narrative to the 2 megabattles so far. Only one left to finish the story! My Canoness lead the Imperial and crushed the forces of evil this time around in what can only be discribed as a crushing victory. We failed to get the Inquisitor, but managed to secure all other Imperial objectives including the most important. The Warp Gate. 26 players showed up to play and 26,000pts hit the table. Here are pictures that I took during the event.

Yeah, I ccan't see the pictures either.

Imperials won 16,477  to  8,480 if I remember correctly. I was very pleased with the way the players handled it especially for deployment. We deployed 26,000 points in only 24 minutes.The next event will be in the first week or so of september....I'll nail down a solid date with Mark when I go to the store this week.

Good times.   Hope to see your pictures up there soon...

Yes, it was a great time and thanks to all who helped organized the event.  I especially enjoyed watching my Hellhound take down a Tau transport, especially when I rolled box cars on the to hit roll and then a 6 and a 5 on the pen and glance rolls.  I went boom.

I sure had my hands full with the two chaos marine armies that landed across from me.  But in the end my forces performed gallently and help secure the objective on our table.

I know a couple of you want me to put together an 1850 list for my guard forces and I will do so as soon as possible.

@Lazarus: Yep Matt Steerman's Emperor's Pointy Sticks army finally hit the table. Kren and Frep were pleased...they actually won a game! @Warrior 50: I loaded all the images into the thread, so you should be able to view them now.

If you all will remind me before the next Mega Battle, I have some barricades and some other things we could spread over the table.

Just bring them in when you show up for it.

Ernie also brought nice terrain but I'd appreciate it if everyone brought the stuff in early. I get there early so that I can set up everything and then I've got people who show up 10 minutes before game time wanting to switch out terrain. (lol)

Ugh... unpainted models on a beautiful table!?!? This would have been the perfect event to force painted models for the pictures. As it stands, I'm glad that Craftworld Plastic-Sprue Falcon is destroyed. Nice terrain. - Oaka

Actually the falcon in question was painted, just the underside is white and it was flipped because it was distroyed.

In an event this size it is almost impossible to have consistently well painted models as everybody is at different skill levels. However all the models where either at CaptK's high quality or at the very least primed with all the lovely degrees in between.

Thats something that has been sitting there since I started playing there. It isn't much to look at though, just a hard board print-out folded to look like that.

I believe a guy that frequents the store brought it in. It is look like it was from another game, but makes an excellent Warp Gate. Capt K

It actually was the primary objective. An objective that my imperial fists died defending so that my allies could take it.

It didn't help that your Terminators where swamped by Close Combat Deamons.

Not only that, but that guy had some really nice scatters each time. It was amazing. We all laughed to when he made all those instability tests, etc. His demons were bullet proof, until they got dogpiled by a bunch of close combat equipped SM scouts. In the end, they lost the numbers and lost the combat. Although it bought us enough time to march on the objective. Phasing out two Necron players helped too! Capt K

Now that I have finally found the MDF board I was searching for I'm starting on new terrain for the next event. This will be the big one.

Hey Laz,
If this is the big one, are you going to give us a general idea of what to expect? Even though we didn't get the inquisitor, we wiped clean the table with the Gate, and also took the rest of our objectives. You hinted that the forces of good will be penalize severely in the next game. However, since we control such important objectives, I gotta think that the force of evil have it worse than us. No starport, No Gate, No Museum, and no Power Station. But I'm sure you have some craziness up your sleeve. I'm ready for it though..hehe..BRING IT!

@warrior50

Thanks, but I'm up to my knees in styrofoam at the moment. I am looking for city type stuff and tank parts for scenic pieces though...

@CaptK

You failed to get the inquisitor in both missions. At least the first one was contested which is what gave you an opportunity on the second. You completely allowed the forces of chaos to take him in the second (practically ignored him lol). Yes, you did complete many of the other objectives and admirably I might add. However, the inquisitor was extremely important in regards to the warp gate....he had particular knowledge that was needed to assure that it would never open again.....

You have run the forces of chaos from that section of the hive. They have retreated and fortified their posistion in an attempt to stave off your attack.

This will be the tie breaker here. each side has won a battle of importance. I'm thinking that we may up the points slightly if everyone is interested. We'll run the game as a club event if you want. I'm still working on details as I have the time. More to come.

I don't want to release too much as it may influence who chooses what side. Just as last time I will announce pregame after sides have been chosen what the impacts from the last event will be. I think it worked out pretty well like that last time.

Sweet. I'm up for more points. Maybe 1200? Either way, i'm ready for whatever happens.
