My first stab at a Necron Lord. While the current Lord model is nice, anyone wanting a model with the Staff of Light is stuck with either trying to track down the Limited Edition model, or the Destroyer Lord. So, I nabbed a few bits and built this guy: Built from plastic warrior and destroyer parts, with arms and spine from the Destroyer Lord, and a little green stuff. You can find more pics under the couch. As always, comments and criticisms welcome.

Looks great dude- I'm surprised how much the plastic head fits the part- I guess GW really did a good job keeping the heads uniform accross the range because even lord characters look the part with grunt heads The body is a tad bit large for my tastes, but definetly the best choice you could have made from the plastic range. Nice job on the leg repose as well.

for some reason, this is one of my least favorite works of yours(dont get me wrong, its not bad.its just...idk.missing something). But if i recall, this is your first necron though right? Its also good you made it simple enough to fit the job but kept it necron-y

Yup, this was the first, but definitely not the last... there's a few more ideas circling around at the moment

thats the sad thing about necrons... They are hollow so its hard to make them stand out as unique beeings like most other armies. Good luck though.wonder what you're up to next!

Looks good, man! I agree, the torso is a bit big for the arms (though I think that is more the angle of the camera) and legs. That base you have him on is nice. well done, dude! Much better than the lord I put together with a simple arm swap.

Don't care for the way the ribbons in the front look, though they are very well sculpted, which I suppose is kind of a given for your work.

Looking back on them now, I'm not as happy with them either... I think I've improved a little with cloth work in the last two years since this was done. Might have to have another bash at something similar to this and see what I can do now

You walk a mystical path, and are a creature of the spiritual and the supernatural. You are introspective and self-reliant, but nobody will ever question your bravery or commitment to justice.

Looking good, the only problem I have with the model are the legs. Don't worry, most people seem to forget this little detail when making larger Necrons based on the plastic Destroyers, you need to beef/lengthen up the legs a bit, they are too small compared to the body.
