My Salamanders will have an Adeptus Mechanicus feel to them.  So for my Devastator squad i decided to use the AM Torsos that come with Rhinos, standard legs and the Chaos Space Marine Heavy Bolters.  The Heavy Bolters will be converted to look less chaotic.  I am going to run a cable from the Heavy Bolter that runs into the cables hanging down from the back of the AM torso.  I want to model an ammo feed.  Something not IG looking but either a round drum or a box.  It can sit on the ground or be attached to them, I will make due.  Any ideas?

use the IG autocannon drums from the heavy weapon spru & i've seen ammo belts on ork guns like big shootas put them together however it looks best on the model . i think that would look real cool .

I dont like those drums, thats the sort of drum that i was refferring to, the kind I don't like.

ok get plastic tubing stock from a model railroad type hobbie store & make your own they have diameters from 1/16 " to 1/2" . you could get different sizes that fit inside one another for a stepped look each tube is about 12" long so you could try many styles & not break the bank.

I don't know what the autocannon drums look like, but what about the round section of a grenade launcher?

O thought about that too, but it isn't really what I am looking for. I'm gonna cruise an online bits store for inspiration.

Try Dragon's Modern Infantry Fire Support Weapons box set, or any similar 1/35 accessory kit which has .50 cal and/or 40mm Mark 19 Automatic Grenade launchers. Their ammo cases are big, but not too big, and boxy. Alternately, they'd be real easy to scratch build with some card stock and half round strips.

that is a razorback gun mount, is that the right link, if so can you explain how it works.

It says gunmount, but it is actually a clip.  Check this picture for what they look like mounted on a Razorback HBolter.
