I wondered how long it would take someone to mention the Warmongers!

I went to the Warmongers club once and that was enough for me the people were decent enough but they were WAAC players. I generally don't care to associate with those type of players. There is another active cub in Manhatten the Dice Dogs as well.

Excuse my ignorance, but what does WAAC stand for?

Thanks in advance,

Win At All Cost Basically these are the people who design their army souly to win and only gain pleasure from winning and are only happy when they win. They get disagreeable when they are losing and they don't truly play for fun and to have a good time. Such as I don't care if my list wins or loses but if I had a good time playing my opponent thats what matters To WAACP the only thing that matters is the win be it a good game or a bad game. I think they prefer playing n00bs so they are assured a victorious slaughter.

The Warmongers do have tht tendency but they also are there to help people improve. And the message board is good for sounding out opponents for trying something different than a straight up GT style match.

They are great guys I would just like to say not have them involved in this little venture at least in the begining.

The warmongers are WAAC players?

What are you basing that on? That they better at toy soldiers than you are? Maybe you're just really bad at it.

They're excellent players (or atleast they have more than their fair share of excellent players) and while they don't play to win, calling them WAAC is obviously false.

Maybe you just need to get your game up before you play with a club of their caliber. But I don't think insulting them in the meantime is productive.

I think that's a bit extreme, I was a warmonger for four years and if I was in NY I'd game with them now.  Great folks and they have a lot of events.  A note on their board can get you some more members,  some advice on running a club in NY and more people for tournments and stuff.  Heck when a club started in Westchester they donated spare terrain.

It's your show and if you want a different sort of atmosphere than the WMC that's cool but saying you don't want to deal with them (at this stage) is a bit counterproductive for you.

Listen that was just my impression of them other people have different impressions. As I said they seem like decent guys other than for that reason. Opinions and instinct and gut feelings and the like we post on these forums all the time your opinions are different thats cool. I am more just wanting to advertise my growing club and if anything I would rather talk to the people who run dice dogs, because they have chapters in both NYC and NJ which means they are a more successful club. Getting pointers and some membership from them I think would be more beneficial.

Yoor Speeshawl too Gawd!

KK is right it never pays to have anything but a friendly rivalry with any other local group.  Cultivateing relationships with more people at their tourneys and your tourneys and leads to a better gameing communiity as a whole.

Ed is also right the Warmongers have some very skilled players amongst their ranks and their forum is an excellent sounding board for army list and the effectivness of  X in a game.  They will tell you their opnion and how they arrived at it.  You will also not get the stupid "Take what you like" responses that clutter other boards.
