Well, the Comp Onions are starting to get to me, so I decided to tone it down, but only a notch, what do yall think of this list, would you enjoy playing against it? I believe it is fair, yet still competitive.

As another BA player, I can tell you're going for a very powerful DC- drawing naked Vet Sgts for the power weapon/fist advantge. Benefits: it gives you a very deadly unit. Drawbacks: It makes all your other units weak, as that main unit can't be everywhere at once, and your basic tac squads can't deal the same damage they'll be taking. Top if off, the Vet Sgts that don't go to DC have nothing special other than an extra attack and leadership.

I'd honestly give your CC scouts a powerfist. I've got one and it puts a LOT of pressure on a flank attack; infiltrate + PF = enemy sweating or redeployment. With the same thinking in mind, I'd dump the other scout HB and give them a missile launcher; infiltrating a ML can get a nice side armor shot. Drop a ML out of one of your tac squads and with the HB points buy a special weapon instead.

If the scenario VC are based on movement, you're in trouble, as you only have 4 mobile units. Foot slogging neutralizes your heavy weapons, and you have no special weapons can be brought to compensate. This would be a tough game for you. Add in that with only 2 vehicles, you're skimmers will have concentrated fire power on them. Rough!

Lastly, a vet sgt or two to get your terminators exectly where you need them would be to your advantage.

Some sound advice on a lot of parts, but there's one thing I hafta correct you on.... I have 6 mobile units... never overlook the power of footslogging terminators with assault cannons. And don't terminators come with a vet sergeant, as they all have terminator honors?

The assault cannons are good if they are well positioned. If you plan on deep striking them... then there are issues associated with that. Scattering can suck to being completely devistating if you go off the board. There is also losing rounds of firepower due to poor reserve dice rolls. In my last game, my opponent's reserves came in turn 4. Wow. Not the average game, but there is that risk. Also, no assaulting on the turn they come in. 2+/5+ looks great on paper until you roll those 1s from getting shot to crap that turn (one of the reasons I don't take them as I role badly enough on 3+ armor saves ;D ).  It only takes 3 kills to transform that terminator unit into a non scoring unit.

Because of these issues I down graded the effectiveness of the deep striking terminators.

I'd take 2 Tac squads and 2 scout squads. I'd also put the Tacs in Rhinos with a power weapon, meltagun and HB for some seriously quick versatility. I'd also take some rockets with 1 large squad of Termintors and the 1 regular scout squad. With the points you save there I'd take a dropping dreadnought or a predator annihalator with HB sponsons. Other than that I'd leave the list intact.

I almost never deepstrike the termies... I use them as a mobile fire base... they're there to shoot, not to assault. The Power Weapons/ Fists are just there incase the enemy decides to assault them.

So you mean other than changing the entire list, you'd leave the list intact? Hah! I already have my "Bad @ss Blood Angels list" that nobody wants to play.... this is my friendly list where the games will be enjoyable and I can win a tournament with. Oh, and never take rhinos.... they're nothing but mobile coffins now. And people who take rockets on termies have a slightly below average I.Q. ..... to put it politely. Do the math... the assault cannon is not only the best infantry killer in the game.... but the best tank buster as well.

I'm going to have to completely disagree about the rhinos. I run with my rhinos and do quite well with them. They change the army from a rapid assault force to a rapid fire fight force. Rhinos take finess to use now instead of the blunt device they were in 3rd ed., so if you're not used to using them, you'll get disassembled quickly. I swear by them. YMMV.

One totally subjective point that really depends on your local gaming area:

You are trying to tone down your Blood Angels b/c of comp, yet you have 6 naked Vet Sgts. Anyone who is familiar with BA's will know why. Your call regarding how you will do comp wise.

Overall, I do like the list. I do agree with others that Rhinos are still worthwhile in many cases, especially if the tourney may be light on terrain. I play against a mechanized BA army and it is extremely difficult to stop b/c of all the LOS blocking armor.

Have I really been playing 40K for nearly 30 years?

sorry i didnt know that Fair meant non-cheasy, but you have to understand that Rhinos work really well for blocking LOS to your DC, especially with smoke, extra armor and souped up engines. Move them into the open and use them as stepping stones, while you're at it get your Tacs across the board. As fot the Dropping Dread same thing. Drop him in close and hide him behind the pod.

also if you're playing a freindly game have your opponent think he's won when he's blown up the Rhinos. lol

Sorry by saying intact, i meant change some things but most of the list is good like the Landspeeder, assault marines, scouts and Chaplain.

PS maybe give the Assault marines Purity seals for voluntary fall backs (you'll need it against Monstrous Creatures). For 5 points its not a waste to save your Marines from some Rippy Dicey claws!

Sorry Jum P. Axe, I sometimes forget that humor is lost over the internet, didn't mean to sound upset or anything, because I am far from it. At the game store I play in, and at the tournaments, terrain is 25% of the board..... so having mobile terrain... aka rhinos, is a waste of 58 points. Also, as the voluntary fall back rules are under the optional rule section, they are not viewed as legal and not used. Yes, this means a sentinel can and will tie up a unit of banshees for the entire game.

The thing without voluntary Fall Back, yeah thats messed up. If I'm in cc with Tyranid and some Carnifexes start showing up Im pulling out lol.

Also i believe BA rhinos are 78 points upgraded the way you want them to be (dozer, extra armor and smoke). They cost 65 points instead because of overcharged engines.

On another subject, do you have a model to represent a Drop Pod? You can use them in BA because Drop Pod assault is a Special Rule like 'And they shall know no fear'. But anyway the models are pretty big for them, and dropping terminators in front of tanks is pretty mean, especially when they are in the back of the army and you can just chew up the line.
