I hope this is in the correct forum. I've been gone for a while (stopped playing after the 'new' vehicle and assault trial rules were released for 3rd edition), but have recently been drawn back into the game (Dan Abnett's books are evil that way) and plan to play a couple of small games with some friends this weekend, to reorient our bearings to the new rules. First, I want to state clearly that I am not trying to get the rules from you, per se. I already own the new black tome. But I wanted to ask if there was a list of changes or quick reference guide or already existing post to summarizes the changes made between editions that you could point me to. I just want to learn the new rules correcly and make sure I don't miss anything or do anything wrong (or at least minimize it as much as possible). Heck, I'd be satisfied with a list of page numbers and sections to turn to. I've gone over the rulebook in cursory fashion, and so far found this differences: 1) units longer screen each other, and units can fire at any enemy unit in LOS, but a leadership test must be taken to shoot at the unit not closest to the firing unit during shooting phase 2) units can now move and fire rapid-fire weapons twice during shooting 3) apparently, models with heavy weapons still have their basic weapons, too (from reading Mauleed's White Dwarf article) 4) units can no longer charge an enemy unit on the same turn they disembarked, but they may disembark and shoot as if they had moved 5) units that have fired their pistols (once) during shooting phase can charge the unit they shot at and still get a +1 attack bonus 6) sweeping advance is back, but the winner of the close combat must have at least one model in base to base contact with the loser in order to gain this advantage (no base to base = consolidation only for the winner, while loser flees) That's all I can think of from the top of my head. I'm sure there are more and that I probably misinterpreted some of the examples I gave above. Again, I'm not looking for you guys to give me the rules. It's just that I'm sure I'll have old habits from 3rd Edition and I want a sort of checklist to make sure I'm learning 4th Edition correctly. On an aside, Dakka seems to have changed quite a bit. Where are Bugswarm, Drew Riggio, Janthkin, Turtle, etc? I guess they took a break, too?
