No. I meant a guy in powerful armor, but cumbersom, and a heavy machine gun, that has low damage per bullet but alot o bullets.

Well flak is the first armor for soldiers, so the heavy if it was givin to soldiers at first, would get their ass knocked out of the water.

leveler

levelers are armed with the heaviest weapons carried by two hands, they are deployed along with squads of infantry to be ovewheling fire support, Against the mindless hordes of shaped, they are devestating. they carry one of three items, an assault blaster, a THEL, or a 'Buzzsaw' Squad Automatic Weapon system.
they are suited in servo-powered suits to carry the weight

Assault blaster: uses a single mass-reactive shell to hit armord targes and bio-tanks, held like a grenade launcher, requires re-cocking after each shot. effaective against armor and heavy infantry. poor against light infantry and medium infantry

Tactical High Energy Laser: fires a sustained beam of crackling power, is effective against light armor and medium infantry, poor against heavy armor, heavy infantry and light infantry. held over the shoulder.

Buzzsaw: fires a storm of 6mm miniballs out of its rotating 8 barrels at a high velocity, has been obseved to cut enemy in two, held over the shoulder, effective against light-medium-heavy infantry, poor against Armor.

From what the shaped sound like, flak sounds like its nickname, cardboard. So a slightly more armored armor would be given at first. Like carpace

yes, they are well armored but slow. (levelers)

So why don't medic or scientist get those carapace armors?
Clearly they are more important than normal troopers.

Ok that sounds better than a soldier allowed to wield heavy weapons. That would be as overpowering as my super tank in toyhammer.
Because they arent always going to be in the line of fire, or for that matter allowed into fire.

(scientists are rear-line guys, they do not have ANY armor AFAIK)

the HW troops are slow and have no additional gear, neither can they carry any.

my thoughts exactly.ony balancing factor is his speed,which IMO wont matter that much.

Right. It has down sides. I dont know why no one thinks of the down sides when it comes to heavy weapons users.

Well for starters I`m slow. We all knew this, another is with my firepower I`m as pretty big target too, oh and the fact I cant carry anything else. Grenades, close combat equipment, and other things. So mere mortal strong armor and a heavy weapon is only two ups to three downs. Do the math.

this is amusing me. and besides being slightly slower there is none.with those weapons you dont need other weapons. and you have to remember this guy has to be strong to use those,so he isnt slowed down that much.

1 Slow? we have transports so thats hardly problem
2 Large target? You mean bigger target than 8-9 feet dinosaur?
3 Oh yeah, changing knife for minigun is quite balanced

Its servo assisted armor. Plus I`m an octupus, so how the hell am I that strong to run that fast.

And a sniper, and a camo suit, and every other thing. The class is as balanced as you guys. They are heavy weapons troops they are suspose to lay down walls of bullets to cover the teams pull back. And we`re a strike team not a assualt force. We are dropped off and left until are mission is done.

octopuses are quite strong.well at least some. and servo armor would be to strong.it would make you OP. deves 2 is also still an issue. im probably also a big target and in an infiltrator.

Infiltrators arent a big target unless they make themselves them. I`m an octupus that floats a meter off the ground, and the weapons is so heavy I need servo assisted armor, I couldnt even move when I fire. I realize you guys have problems with it. But the whole point of a heavy weapons troop is exactly what the class is. I mean play any game and the heavy weapons trooper is slow but deals out enough bullets to cut down swaths of troops. Their also a big target, because they are a big morale booster and lowerer depending on the side. Apparently you guys are to blind to acknoledge the down sides, for a few good. I`m sorry but also another down side, is they are very outmanuverable. Go play halo you`ll see for yourself when you use a turret. and again strike team.

do you not see the point? the weapons are perfectly fine, he can only use one, wich is only good against certain things and according to the GM we ALL have power armor, his just has extra servos in the arms so he can lift the thing.
