Does the Daemon Prince model actually fit on a 40mm? I wanted to model a Cadian under his foot but I dont know if I could do it while keeping him on a 40mm base. Anyone do something similar?

what size base does te pice come on? im sure its a 60mm base, now correct me if im wrong but iirc the rules state a model can be on a largr base then the one the model origianlly came with but never smaller, so if it came with a 60mm thats what you got to use, plus side is its better for modelling a diorama, cos a 40mm base is only a termie sized base cheers millest

It -just- fits really.his feet stick our a little depending on how you put him but the cadian should fit in also.Even if it sticks out a little, its not like you have a frikkin epic sized boulder there (think of Space Wold showpieces)

Here is a pic of my DP with a Praetorian casualty. As you can see the feet do overhang the base slightly.

That is the size of the base that come with the model. Most players I know use the dreadnaught base for the model instead.

Hmmm. Ill look into the 60mm. It looks almost cartoonish on the 40mm. Lone Pilgrim, thats one awesome looking DP.

they seem to fit fine but you could alsways use it for effect and have something dripping of the base like have the cadians arm drooping over side for a bit more effect. when i modled my demon princess i put a sliced up carnifew head on the bas and had the guts and bits comming over the bas it formed a little puddle on the side, or go for the 60mm base, its fine either way i think, depends on the effect you want -end rant-

A lot of models look crammed on the regulation 40mm base. Since there's no advantage in the game to using a larger base (eg more guys can swarm around and attack) most people won't complain. Aaaanyway, you can get more mileage out of your base by adding a layer of features that overlaps the edge a little like city rubble: http://www.bluetablepainting.com/gallery_images/1154982031.jpg Or corking: http://www.bluetablepainting.com/gallery_images/1154045473.jpg Which you can buy at a hobby shop by the square foot. One quarter inch is the best thickness in my estimation. Shawn G.
