hi folks

looking to model up 2 hardcore rh1nos for my inqusitional stormtroopers.

does anyone have any pics of any or suggestions as to how i can model some unique and cool looking rh1nos. im looking to make them cool without going ott and relativly cost effective!

any suggestions and pics would be great

I wouldn't change them too much form how they appear standard. After all, Stormtroopers are ultra-practical fighters, and too much time spent making their vehicles aesthetically plaeasing would seem pointless. You could use this template :

You just glue it to some plasticard, then cut it out and glue it together.

I think there may be pics in the Inquisitor Codexes of a Rhino done up for Stormtroopers which looks quite good

Try to keep the vehicle quite spartan in appearance, and decorate up vehicles belonging to Inquisitors and either GK's or SoB's, whichever (or if) you're collecting them.

I used that same template on my Inquisition Rhinos (which are still WIP). I mounted those symbols in plasticard on one of the side doors and the top hatch. On the top hatch, I added a plastic winged skull eagle from the Rhino sprue on top of a short length of platic rod, that is laying flat against the hatch, like a short Crozius. I think it looks pretty distinctive.

This is mine. I added bits for decoration like the braziers from the undead stage coach, and various symbols/head in a box from Inquisitor scale figs. The front and side doors are from FW and I must admit that they are nice bits.  My top hatch was going to basically be a plasticard build up like mentioned a few posts up.

check out page 8 "Adeptus arbity vehicles" and page 13 "which vehicle is more 40k esque" both have good ideas fore rinos and chimeras

Are these IST WH or DH? It does make a difference.

I seem to recall someone on WIP (I think?) doing a WH Landraider conversion using the COD sprues to make a mobile chapel, so something along those lines (replace front with stained-glass windows, rear hatch is all gothiced-out, etc.) could work, if you're going for a WH angle.

For DH, I would do lots of protective glyphs and iconography, indicating that the Rhino was protected against infestation.

For XH, I'd do something really high-tech (well, as high-tech as a rhino gets). Get rid of the smokestacks, smooth out the lines some, add some techno-techno gear (radar dishes, etc.) to indicate that they get to use xenos tech (e.g. Tau, Eldar). You may even want to use something like Tau tech integrated onto the rhinos themselves.

some interesting ideas. was wondering if anyone has used immolator kits to convert in to storm trooper or inquisitional rhinos?
i like some of the suggestions but im fancying using them as "multipurpose" symbol of the imperium/inquisition rhinos! ok so im just cheap but thats a different argument! lol. though i must say i do like the clean straight cut imperial nature of humans - ie this is us, we're boss, we have the STC so our kits the best!
