Hi everyone , I got a warhound titan for my birthday a couple of months ago (yep, i know :lucky me!!) and i'm about to start working on it . I've got it cleaned ,undercoated and i'm just realising the size of the kit . It looks like there's plenty of room for error and was hoping to find some articles on how to properly build it or (ideally) to get in touch with someone who already did one . any help would be greatly appreciated ,i really want to do a perfect job thanks , Shannon

I'm not sure if the kit comes with this, but there are detailed instructions avaliable to download from the forgeworld website http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/downloads.htm (at the bottom of the page)

hi, thank you for the info, however , i got the same info with the kit , it's not as complete as it seems , there's a large amount of little parts , and i'm concerned about how to make it stands (it'squite heavy ) and was hoping to make the guns and torso movable somehow , cheers , Shannon

I won't say it's impossible to make them move, but they are large heavy pieces, you will have to put some serious support in there. the legs I've found are the trickiest part to assemble. it's like you need 2 more arms to hold and pose while gluing.

I just assembled & painted one for a friend. It took me about three days- complete days, during summer vacation. What advice can I give? First, get together all the parts you need for the feet & lower legs. Leave the armor off for now. Assemble one leg completely, using superglue, and pins to secure the main leg joints, and assemble the other foot as well. Each piston will have to be cut to fit individually. Do them one at a time. Cut them too long, then trim a little at a time. You don't want to end up with a piston sticking out of its' sleeve! Use some blu-tack or other putty to hold the pelvis to the completed leg, put the other foot down, and test the fit and position of the other leg until you find a good fit. An extra pair of hands will be a help during this step, but you can manage it by yourself if you are patient. Once you find a good position, make reference marks on each piece! (Note in the pictures that the feet are staggered, not side-by-side; this gives better balance.) Assemble the second leg, and use pins! Even a bit of paperclip will go a long way to giving a strong joint, and you really want strong joints. I drilled a hole right through the pelvis, and pinned each leg to the other. Make sure the torso ring is level. The torso just balances on top of the legs, though you can glue/pin it if you like. You can add the leg armor at any time after the legs are attached to the pelvis, but I painted legs in metallics and the leg armor in colors to match the torso, so the leg armor actually went on last. I found it best to paint & seal all the cabin pieces before assembly. Paint the crew before you glue them into the head, and put in the headrests last. Put together the front & rear cabin, then add the sides (pins!). Be sure you have painted all the machinery before you glue the top together with the steel grill in place! The top will fit in-between the sides quite snugly, you shouldn't need any glue, and you will be able to show off the interior of your cabin. I pinned the head to the front of the cabin. Resin is wonderful stuff, I drilled a hole at the back and a hole on the nose, enlarged them with my x-acto knife, and glued in tiny rare-earth magnets, so the head armor can be removed to display the crew. Once the torso & head are assembled, they should rest nicely on the pelvis. The weight alone will hold the torso in place. Once again, I drilled holes and attached large RE magnets (one in the center of the pelvis, and one in the center of the torso) for that extra security, but I wanted to be able to separate the pieces for ease of transport. Making the guns moveable will be very difficult. They are too heavy and ill-balanced for RE magnets to be effective. Also once you cut and attach the cables, the cables will tend to push the guns where they will, not where you want them to be. I just put a pin in the ball-and socket joint and used a lot of superglue. Cutting the cables for the head and the guns is tricky. If you cut them too long, they will push the pieces out of alignment. If you cut them too short, they won't reach. And you don't have much cable to work with, so you cannot afford mistakes. Be careful. It is a very heavy model, but if you position the legs correctly it is surprisingly stable. Have fun! P.S. Use pins!

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

Ok, I have a link here that'll be useful for the foot assembly, but don't look for it to be updated because it's been unchanged for years: www.dropship.org.uk/projects/wh001.asp

thank you very much to the two of you for the answers , i learned quite a lot and will no doubt do a better job thanks to you . For the moving guns thing , i was thinking about replacing the existing cables with real electric ones ,more flexible , and drill through the ball articulation to install a pivot . In any way, i'll let you know how it turned out Shannon

That way when you're finished you can write an construction guide for others to use (if you're so inclined) and you'll also have it to refer to if you end up building another.

i'm just about finished , the help with the feet and legs was crucial to the kit, no doubt . I went at it in the old way, which means that i painted every single part before starting to put it together , had to remove some paint in places , but it gave me time to familiarize myself with all the parts ( and to realize that some were missing ) . The trick to stand to foot on a rhino door proved excellent , the onet to find a match for the legs and mark it too . I used lots of pins on the feet,legs and hips and i think it would not stand without them . To get a feel for the balance of the head, i put it together to make sure the legs were in the proper position . As i write this ,i haven't tried yet the gun assembly ,but i'll try to make them movable as i said with pivots drilled through the balls and a few nuts and bolts . Without my dremmel it would have been near impossible . One thing that must be said: it is truly a magnificent machine, up to the last tiny detail looks good and makes sense ,the engraving is superb and i can't wait to see it on the battlefield .I'll post a message requesting tactical advice on its best use and weapons choice because i want the first battle to count , thanks again for the advise
