Okay guys, sorry for no updates, I was stuck in bloody hospital all week! Turns out instead of just a sprained wrist, they discovered I have a bloodclot in a vein in my arm. Updates will be coming soon, I have to be careful with knife work more than ever as I am on blood thinners.

Well guys, thank you for the good wishes, I knew one day it may be bound to happen, I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure back on '04, I guess I got away clean for about 8yrs, and now I just have to be cautious for 6 months as the coumadin works to help me clear that little clot out of the arm. Doesn't stop me from making stuff and painting stuff, the worst part so far was the really cruddy hospital grub and the low bid bed I had to sleep(Rarely) on.

I will have pics of the tractor machine up soon, I have been camo'ing it up for all to see, just needs the black squiggles.

if i have to cross my fingers for six month i will need some of those meds too... but i´ll give it a try...

i only ever was at hospital when i was still at school... broke my arm... and had to sleep for a week there... dunno really why tho... the worst part was the guy next to me... he broke his hip...when going out for washing is laundry on a cold winter day... he had a full purse worth of quite some money for the machines... and then he slipped and fell on his coins... broken hip... well he was constantly yelling and moaning... the grub...well...last mentioned soonest mened... and...i felt betrayed... where were all those hot nurses??? i got only the old...and ugly...urgh....

Ah, I have been in the hospital a few times, nurses ran the gamut of looks scale. Food was okay to good at the other ones, the local has to have been the worst in culinary violations I have yet to encounter!

i think they believe in placebos then... give the stomach some cruel treatment and the whole body gets better to get out of harms way then

i bet somehwhere were we haven´t been yet the nurses are all good looking...

mud looks a bit dry... still pre wash here?

Sadly, the washes are at the limit of what i can do adding water to them to stretch the supply out, I have added chaos black as well, it should have looked better, \maybe the flash bleached it out?

hmmm... that could be it...flash is a known killer of cool effects...

And sometimes the flash helps make effects! Now I was asked about some images to help get an idea of the size of the FT-17 I converted, Manticore was a willing assistant to give a size comparison to.

It was in an older pic, you can see the track system from plasticard and 40k treads O made for it

Hey shas looking good with the weathering. Have you tried for that even more random look using the "toothbrush technique"? if you layer it up with a watered down paint it makes it really random!

either way, good work, keep it up!!!

concerning this idea childe... i have two small flask of nosespray... empty and rinsed of course.... do you think guys this could work for this spray technique?

Erm, not too sure tbh, never tried using one of those... you'd have to get the paint the right consistency I'd have thought and be careful of clogging as well. but I shouldnt see it being much different... just dont make the paint too thin, and do a tester first is all I can suggest tbh.l

If you just want rust or oil splatters, an old toothbrush and the flick method works really well (it works even better with oil paints over top of a gloss coat)- The pump spray sounds like an interesting idea for big splatter patterns, but would a full pump create too much pressure or not? That sounds worth experimenting with. I agree with Childe though, the paint would have to be really thin, perhaps a wash or thinned oil paint, or even a wash made from thinner and weathering powders (the powders dissolve completely, so chunks or clogging shouldn't be an issue).

well of course testing is to be done first...
and if clogging happens... the bitz will instantly end up in my scratchbuild box... it´s a winwin situation



and dave... i am still thinking about getting me a can of pressurized gas to test the AB gun...

It doesn't even need to be a toothbrush, any stiff brush will do the job

I do have some brushes I may be able to do that with.

the only reason toothbrushes are used for this technique so much is how stiff the bristles are. But daves right anything will do, as it gives a different type of spatter effect.

Yes, I have seen what an errant toothbrush can do whilst brushing my teeth.
