Anyway, anyone have any ideas for the wall designs for my new building? I'm having trouble coming up with good looking walls...

I'll get on creative later and flesh out some examples I have in mind and post screenshots if you guys want.

I prefer to avoid using sandstone. Mostly because sandstone is so annoying to get. It's so inefficient to turn sand in to sandstone :(

There is a sand repilicator.
You could also use birch wood but then it is highly flammable. Another option is using wool. + Stone Brick outer wall to protect it.

Bear in mind that in the 1.4 update (due this Thursday), these are arriving:
http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Cobblestone_Wall

Yeah they're small, but could be used to add detail to a large wall...

ugh, if they made stone brick walls I'd use 'em. Cobblestone looks fugly, and much less decorative than regular fences.

Oh I know those are being added. But aside from buttresses-- and I do have something like that planned-- they won't be useful for this particular project.

Depends on what texture pack you use. My texture pack is fairly nice when ti comes to cobble, as is Misa's.

I doubt there would be any programming involved in making that video, it was probally all done in Maya or something

Using the programs we use yes. That is programming what he is using is probably a character creator or a model maker.

If you don't like Gangnam Style why bother watching Minecraft Style?
Just go to CaptainSparklez YouTube page and watch the other 3, TNT, Revenge and Fallen Kingdom

Don't forget Diggy Diggy Hole!

Also, Dark, do items on the ground last through Server Restarts? Because, well, dropped some stuff due to death (thought that water was a lot deeper than it actually was) and the death point being really, really far from my spawn (probably should make a bed when I can...) Most of it wasn't important, but it did bring up the question to me.

Only a few thousand more dirt pieces to go...
