You guys ought to check out PlasmaCraft. It's a relatively new mod, adds acids, plasmids, directed energy weapons of all kinds, and acid TNT, along with a whole host of other stuff. It's pretty neat.

I'm still working on an actual plasma weapon's theory. I've figured out how to make a plasma generator, now just to shrink it down by a gak ton (fist size) and add electromagnet toroid focuses...

It's all about power and containment. If you can get a program written up that'll be able to dynamically stabilize a magnetic containment field, you ought to be able to achieve fusion at any size- then the issue becomes finding a way to efficiently change that heat energy into electrical energy to run the containment, while also being able to cause controlled breeches of the containment to fire off bits of plasma- the 'barrel' would mostly be for longer-range magnetic containment, which, at this point, would mostly be for keeping the plasma charge from 'blooming' too close to you, and, again, keeping the heat off your hands while holding the weapon.

Or you could loop the breech back into the reactor like a solar bridge- essentially creating a lightsaber.

More accurate term here would be a plasabre.

The theory should hold solid. People have made small plasma generators, so all I need to do to that is make a synchronised flux of negative magnetism up the barrel, attracting the plasma along with it and expelling it out. Then I have a plasma gun with a range of 50 odd centimetres.

50 odd centimeters eh? I know gak all about science (as in I'll just mix gak together and see if it will blow up or make a poisonous gas) but if you start off like that would you not be able to bugger round with the barrels magnetic field and try to strengthen it to give the plasma a higher velocity?

And now to keep this somewhat on topic. I really need to get to work on starting the small keep I'm working on.

Personally, I'd rather figure out a good lightning pack- I'm thinking tons of capacitors in a back mount, which all load with the movements of my body (and the frame attached thereov). I'd settle for a good taser shock from my hands, though I'd prefer if I could get a high enough charge to shoot lightning between my fingers.

by the way the future weapons technology thread has closed so me and mynameisalie have had to result in PM's to sort out plns for design and stuff like that.

I already did that

We could have two field testers. one for the plasma gun and one for the rail driver. (I shall do work on the rail driver myself as well as helping with the plasma gun) (I shall also makke a thread in the off topic forum called the DSG (dakka science group) for all our plans,reseach,development and testing of these weapons and scientific breakthoughs.

People quit touching my stuff. Just happened to look at the map there. Ok, whoever decided to build on my village make yourself known. I've laid claim to that, and the smaller house to the south (which I was keep as just one building, as I thought it was unique). Now someone's came along and taken over that little house, expanded it, and built a wall to link it to my village. ...All of this on my land. If its BowserGardland then I'll make another point; don't just stick your nether tunnel onto the back of my portal. There was plenty of space to make a new tunnel, what you've done's made the work I planned to do on it an issue now.

I'll check the map but I know I have not touched your village. I was inside it a couple times when trying to sort out my nether portal but I didn't touch anything on the way out.

This is the closest I've built to your village.

I mean that this whole section has been just bumped on by someone. Not only did someone edit my original village, but they also claimed an area of my land for their own building too (ie that bit to the south was originally a small hut, now its an empty village). ...You move out to the middle of nowhere, and yet people still mess with your stuff.
