edit: I was impatient and took a stab anyway. Missed by 1 block of X and 5 blocks of Z. Is it possible to correct for that, or should I just be happy I'm that close.
edit: Turns out that if you light a netherbrick thing (the red ones that burn) near wood it burns down hours of your work. Who'da thunk it.

I found that out when I lit the roof on fire in my bedroom...
Also, if anyone in Kiip needs dirt, stone, precious rocks, I need some help digging out around my tower, you're welcome to any thing you find, and you'd have my eternal gratitude.

yeah, I've already started on the rough outline of it, but I'm gonna need a lot of time to do this, and some TNT wouldn't hurt either, especially to just mark out the starting crater.

Hey Alf, there was a creeper in your place when I got back from mining out underneath. It blew up your first-floor stairs but I fixed 'em. Dunno how the little bastard got in there. All the doors were shut.

That's weird as hell... I wonder if there is a dark spot in my place... I've had a few zombies spawn and catch me off guards, and I've seen endermen (though they teleported in).

Why am I all of a sudden under assault by creepers? This seems weird. The entire construction of my tower and I had 1 creeper attack, now 2 in 1 day...

yup, I saw it, now that I have a "hole" to the sky, I'm just going to start opening things up. It's going to be a long process.

I have a server with 1GB ram and is at 47% memory usage. Do you think this will be enough to run a Minecraft server with 0-4 people? At most it will have 1-2 players at any given time, maybe three. Dondrekhan is being weird about using the Dakka server, so I'm looking into making one.
As a discussion grows in length, the probability of a comparison to Matt Ward or Gray Knights approaches one.

I was playing with the snapshot last night. Even if you ignore the new biomes (I actually only managed to spot two new ones in the time I had), the world generation (hills, valleys, mountains etc) just seems much more varied again.
No more, "this is a plains, so it's all flat, then - there's an extreme hills biome, bam! y=100".
I'm as of yet undecided on what to do for the server come 1.7. If we stick with the current world, all the new terrain will only be in new chunks and there will be the "cliffs of version change" at the boundaries.
The last world reset we had was for the 1.0 release and I copied a lot of people's structures over to the new world. As "fun" as all that work was, I think I would be willing to do it again if it was necessary.
However, they're also putting a lot of work into the mod api behind the scenes, so it is impossible to predict what will happen or be possible over the coming months. For all we know they could have time travel in by 1.7 :-)
This is just the very first snapshot, I think for now it's best to just "wait and see" what happens before we worry about things like world resets.
