On topic: Do you need villagers to start up a new village? I'm fairly near to Docatdeth who has a village on his doorstep, and if villagers are required I might have to buy some off him.

Yes, otherwise you'd have villagers spawning all over the structures you build. I think you need at least two, then spawn another one to create a new village area (though trust the wiki more than what I'm saying).

so i have been working in creative 1.7.2 to fix my walls into something better looking, which i have. the problem is i just realized that chiseled stone bricks are still not able to be crafted. is there any way to obtain them other than from jungle temples?

You can build wherever you want, barring close to other peoples land (barring their permission) or the spawn. The other thread's just for requests to move structures over from the previous map.

Post it on the thread. If your copying something then yes. But yes you can build there don't need to ask permission . *UNless you are encrouching on someones land.

You should message people to see if it is okay. plus wait for the server to come up. At most people should only own around 1000 blocks x 600 blocks. As big as my old kingdom was. Anymore is just ridiculous.

By "claim", I mean be in charge of. I'd be quite happy for other players to move in and share the place, as long as they don't destroy it, obstruct my own building etc. I'm going to build walls around it and make it safe.

If people are having an existing structure imported onto the map, does that mean they get to spawn there from the very beginning, or do they have to trek over there from the spawn zone like everyone else? I noticed that "Suburbia" has been placed across the river right next to the village and temple I'd like to use, giving them somewhat of a head start...

Just don't fall down the center of the temple or you'll activate the tnt and destroy the loot.

Best to slowly make your way down.

Or just knock out the block next to the centre one and fall down from there. There's only one pressure plate right?

There are at least 3 desert temples in the biome you're in, in fact there are also at least 3 in the biome that is up by Kiip.

Jungles are alot rarer. Think of Mesa but three times rarer. But they are quite massive. So for the love of Dakka. Do not burn down jungles.... Ensure it is protected and it would be better if no one built in one. Because jungles are now the rarest biome. So it should belong to the community instead

I have no plans for a jungle, once I get the nether wrack to finish my planetarium I'll probably start doing something sort of like Dalaran from Wow, connect a few floating towers, who knows! Though I think the poster I was talking to was looking for chiseled stone from a jungle temple.

Y'know, I think the first thing I'm gonna do when the server goes up is break my place down and relocate. The current place I have going is just too complex/time-consuming. I'd much rather have a simple castle keep, maybe with a spiral tower or something like that.
