The Slime Block[1] is an upcoming, transparent block that resembles a slime. It causes the player to bounce at various heights, depending on the length of the fall. The block is expected to be introduced in the Minecraft 1.8 version for PC. Such blocks are now able to be implemented due to a new rendering system.[2] Slime blocks also causes players to move slower while walking on it. Both players and mobs who'd fall onto this block would take no fall damage.

I'm going to build a platform at max height, with a giant hole in the ground beneath it, all the way down to bedrock, just to see how high I can bounce.

you can do that in the snap shot. Go ahead Do it on a superflat world and build it big enough so you do not miss it by accident

I'll put it over one of my bases actually, with a 1x1 hole all the wall down to bedrock. I'll have it pass through my living room / bedroom, with a glass tube enclosing it, so I can sit back and relax, and watch people falling down the tube to bedrock then bounce back up to cloud level then fall back to bedrock then bounce back to cloud level than fall back to bedrock then bounce back to cloud level than fall back to bedrock then bounce back to cloud level than fall back to bedrock then bounce back to cloud level than fall back to bedrock then bounce back to cloud level than fall back to bedrock...

you want to avoid that. it has to be bigger to get the full effect. Because if you land on the edges you take full fall damage.

Simple enough to make a 1 block deep gap above the slime blocks, and making a 3x3 around where you land.

And how is Lapis renewable, sir?

Also, new stone. Yays! I wonder if it might be replacing the normal stuff, or if the normal stuff will get its own specific name. This game is getting more and more Dwarf Fortress-y.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

Villagers now have a chance to sell lapis for emeralds.

Everything but diamonds are renewable.

I think I may need to start doing villager stuff. Trades can be super useful, emerald blocks would be nice for decoration, and I may have to look into making an iron farm or foundry or something. Plus, having an underground tunnel-based village would be kinda neat.

My Villagers seem to be suffering from a form of mass hysteria. I've given them plenty of space, yet they all try to cram into the same corner. I had to shove and kick them apart and locked them into wooden pens to seperate them.

They love to do that.
Give them towers and more doors and they'll find their favourite spots in the village to all rush to.

I sort of fixed it in the City of Ghost by building a small shack near their favourite building. Shack about 3x2 inside, 80% of the population must be inside it somehow... There was over 100 of them.

Has someone been in my base recently and moved around the flower pots (and flowers within) in the main hall? Only a few seem to have disappeared, just wondering if a creeper had blown up or something

I'm not sure what it is really, I just started making it with stained clay before the stained glass was added and didn't fancy going back to change it. Something of a Labor of Love for the most part getting all the materials and making sure I don't misplace a block and make everything out of place. But thanks for the compliment

I do like your rose window as well!

And for your flowers, tell me if you lost any rare ones. I have a few spare ones I think.

It looks terrible with that top. Should I expand it or leave it be?

You could make a pointy roof using wooden stairs. They look good on stone fortresses.

Construct upon it a monumental phallic icon.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

I need a pickaxe with the silk touch perk. Anyone willing to trade one?

I'm willing to pay good gold for it

And second question: Has anyone found a flower forest biome?

I have quite a lot of flint and am happy to trade it for pretty much anything you can't find on the surface.

I'm not sure, there are forests just behind the Mountain Crown that seem to have a lot of flowers. Was there any specific flower type you wanted? I can see if I can track it down for you and maybe arrange a trade.

It's just that stormlord's post about losing his flowers reminded me about making a flower garden in my estate. Problem is, I can't find a flower biome to get the unique flowers that spawn there.

So keep me updated on that possible flower biome near your place!
