Out of interest whose Nether Portal is this? I can't see any indicators on the map or a base nearby. I only ask as I had plans to expand to that island once I finish a few things on the fort, but don't want to do so if someone else has claimed it but not begun work yet

I swiped the loot from the chest. It had a bread, a bucket, Iron Horse Armour and 4 copies of C418-13. Terrible music, but it makes me want to make a spooky place for it.

Want one? It's just spooky ambient music. The chest is sitting in front of Overlord Thraka/LordBean123 gate. He's probably not here. I think he returns on Wednesday or Thursday.

They're pretty far out there. For your sake, I hope wolves can't despawn.
The only nearby portals are the Jungle Portal here and the folks around here. Top one being Desubot's Fortress and the bottom one being... Mountain Crown I think. They all have portals connected to North Tunnel.

I went to check up on the area the wolves were and Shadow Captain Edithae was there. He's gone crazy. He has built a series of towers and burnt down the forest. I hung out for a while till he left.
Apparently he left to walk his dog in a thunderstorm (IRL).

He's amassing an army of wolves to destroy the lands of players. His first action as a new Wolf Lord was to chase a cow off a cliff and laughed at the sight.
I had found a pack of 4 wolves for him, he tamed 3 and slew the last, likely for insubordination.
What have I done?

wolf will not teleport: If the wolf has been ordered to sit[2] Exception: The wolf is likely to teleport if it is injured while sitting (it will no longer be sitting after it teleports). A dramatic example is if a wolf sitting outside is struck by lightning, in which case they will be on fire when they appear. If the wolf is in a minecart If the player is swimming or riding a boat in deep water; a wolf will only teleport as the player approaches land or shallow water one block deep (if the player travels long distances on water, whether with or without a boat the wolf(s) will not teleport upon reaching land, if they were left on a chunk that was unloaded). If there are only transparent blocks (like ice, glass) around the player If the player enters a portal and travels to the Nether or the End, instead remaining in the Overworld until the player returns. However, wolves can be transported to the Nether or End by pushing them into the portal first. If the player is flying a certain distance above the land If the wolf is tied by a lead If the player teleports If the wolf is in a confined space and cannot see the player

Second one is Sacred Mountain (blame Sleitusmithr for the confusing name ) following the signposts to the Mountain Crown (also helpfully on the Northern Nether Arm) will take you to the wrong place ... though of course you're very welcome to visit.
By the way, would anyone object if I did the following (no promises on when, just checking that it's okay in theory) in the Jungle:
Make the portal area safe. No firm idea on style at the moment but probably more wood and glass than stone, and not terribly big or fancy.
Build a treehouse. Probably not a vast build, just a few platforms with the basic necessities and an awesome view. Ideally I'd like to build quite close to the portal (to save me cluttering the Nether with another one) and once built would be community property.

Yeah that would be cool, a series of huts above/amongst the tree canopy, linked by bridges.

Man, everyone who enters that tunnel for the first time gets lost. It's ridiculous. I'd want to hook up North tunnel with East tunnel but North tunnel is already linked with West tunnel and sometimes it's a nightmare.

Sure, that'd be great. No more worrying about what's waiting on the other side. Last time, I got out, placed down a bed, slept, immediately picked up the bed, put down a boat, sped away and turned back to see a creeper had already started chasing me.
You make me sad Edithae I decided to take the land rout to my base today and found 6 or 7 wolves, though I only had enough bones for 1. If you haven't gotten your wolves back, you might want to try exploring areas that haven't been discovered or have only been traveled once before. Maybe all the passive mobs that don't despawn are preventing the wolves from spawning. Or maybe you could just try to wipe out every living thing you see to free up spawning space. The first method seems to work, since that is how I've found all wolves, the second is only a guess.
Unfortunately for you, there doesn't seem to be any unexplored wolf biomes anywhere near you.

its ok, I figured out the problem. My wolves wouldn't follow me through the portal, and by I returned to my base in the overworld, the jungle chunk where my wolves were waiting by the portal was unloaded.
Luckily another person was online at the time and agreed to go to the jungle portal to force a chunk reload , at which point the wolves teleported to my location. IIRC it was Storm Warrior that helped me - thankyou!
