So yeah, I hate those egg hordes.

I'm working to finish up the first level of the basement of the Mesa, right? Blocking things in, getting ready for the big super-mine.

I fall into a ravine. No big deal, half health, got blocks to dig out... Oh hey, a zombie. Wait. He's got an egg! AHH TWENTY ZOMBIESALLATONCEdead.

Go back to try again, and again, and again, and die each time. (also, odd lag when I respawn, keeps me in my room for waay too long).

Finally finish of the zombie horde, only to watch as my stuff all despawns a few blocks away from me, because the feature that's supposed to cause zombie hordes to actually save your gear if you die to them, instead gets filled with eggs from a single cave-wall chicken.

Lost one of my enchanted mining picks, and a ton of smooth and cobblestone. So salty.

So Im having a strange problem. Got Minecraft onto a new computer and im having a hard time Installing resource packs. Whenever I try to get Minecraft tot ake me to the resource packs folder it says it doesn't exist. I've tried a clean install 3 times now and the launcher doesn't seem to want to create the folder and making it myself doesn't do the trick either. (at least not when I tried it with my limited knowledge ) Anyways anyone have a solution? I couldn't really find anything with a Google, nothing helpful at least. Anyone else had this problem?

EDIT: Ignore me. Finally came across a helpful thread on it. The problem is with 1.8 not creating the folder for some reason. So if anyone else needs the solution just roll back to 7.10 then back forward to 8.1 and you should be golden.

So, does anyone have a sneaky way of getting two stairs to form corners to each other, without any other stairs around them? It's not an absolute necessity for what I'm using them for, but would be incredibly nice, and help me not go crazy with obsession.

So far, I've tried placing and removing blocks around them, trying to trick them with piston retractions, all sorts of things. But I can only ever get a single stair to properly corner- I'd almost swear that I managed it by accident in one of my other worlds, but that both had a modpack and had other stairs around it...

Not sure I quite understand what you mean, can you give us a screenshot of what you're doing?

What exactly are you trying to do?

Does anyone know if the caves at 187 490 have been mined out? Don't have time to check but I'd like to harvest them

No. When you put one stair in front of you, and then stand beside it, and place another one facing another side, it'll form a corner. He's trying to form two of these corners with two stairs.

This is a sadface for me.

I'm clearly being dense, I still can't visualise what it is that you're trying to do. Is it an attempt to make upturned corners (Thai-style) on a roof? I'm happy to exercise my stair-fu but it's difficult unless I know what end product you want.

Here Anvildude, point to the red wood stairs that you want (minus the cobblestone of course). You want this against the wall yeah?

It's part of a support decoration for my larger columns. It'll be waaaay up above you, but I'm being picky because this is mah baby build.

Oh, that shouldn't be too hard to do, really. Not sure how to describe how to get it to work though.

See, that's the thing. Without those other two stairs behind it (take away the cobble stairs, and replace with a smoothstone block- that's what I'm needing), you can only get one of the stair blocks to 'corner' at a time.

Played around with it for a while, 'fraid you're right. Dont' think that's possible...

Even tried doing things like 'hidden stairs' and piston shenanigans. I think it's the way they're coded, honestly. A basic "If-Then" that uses orientation of adjacent stair blocks to determine whether or not that corner chunk is there, and one that isn't tick-dependent at that.

Part of the reason I like Microblocks is that they allow you to fix this sort of thing. Even just the placing method is a little more elegant, really.

the Darkinnit.com map seems to be doing something weird.

in-game, this area is around the X: -2000 Z: -3000

But the map Over Viewer says that this area is X: +3000, Z: -2000.

Whats more, the map indicates that Storm Warriors has ring fenced a HUGE area of land and claimed it (marking his "territory" with tilde ~ Signs). This includes areas of land DIRECTLY ADJACENT to my tower, land I have begun to build on or plan to build on (roads and such, a beach area that I may turn into a dock, hills and meadows/plains where I plan on building farms etc). And it also includes a HUGE swathe of the sea to the east, where I want to eventually build some underwater structures.

The map indicates that StormWarriors' location is here, in the middle of the sea.

This has gotta be a mistake right? The map over viewer has gotten out of sync with the server and everything has been shifted several thousand metres in the wrong direction? I thought StormWarrior's territory was far, FAR to the East from here.

That's been a problem since the map was updated to 1.8. It seems the compass at the top right of the map has just been spun 90 degrees around and all the markers have been spun around with it. I wonder how much of a hassle it would be to fix that.

Say, does anyone mind if I explore a bunch of the land in the bottom left area of the map?
There's a lot of unknown space and no one seems to be building anywhere nearby. There's more stuff from the old server than there is new stuff.
Maybe I'll put down a proper portal/tunnel...

Yes, the map is very confused at the moment. The Overviewer team are aware of the issue, so hopefully a fix is not far off.

We need proper areas to strip mine for the new stone types. I have started a few and will probably make a portal to there.
