Well the current 4 stalls have an 11 block radius quarter circle each. Plus there's the stuff underground, like the sewers, and some other digging operations happening there for some reason. So building operations have to be done around all that. Otherwise, 16x16 is plenty of room for me.

Not that I mind anyone using those stalls (they are why I built them), but there will be other space for building.

As I said before, once I've finished adding in everything, you'll be free to build whatever you like (within reason of course).

The problem you're having now is that Sir Ralphy and Lady Dria can basically flood the market with cheap/free resources like cobble and stone.

However, once I've run through Dria's store of stone, I'd be willing to pay an emerald per chestful. Depending on how much I feel like terraforming, maybe even an emerald per double chest of cobble.

I will admit with building the iron farm at spawn, has devalued iron into being as worthless as stone. So wear some armor already

I did suggest to Dria that she mark the sugar 1 diamond per stack, we got a chuckle out of it but that's not why she built it.

We don't have that much stone, we only have 2 double chests of stone and 3 of cobblestone. Anyone could flood the market with just mining 1 strip a day, or just use the cobblestone generator right next to his stall I could probably flood the market with emeralds and gold though, but I have no interest in doing so, and I might need those blocks for more decorations . I haven't mined in weeks, I just spent 3 days looking around (got the biome achievement) now I'm busy playing with maps right now for decorating, and that should keep me busy for a few more days before I get any new mining done

Seriously- you're still relatively new to the server and build primarily with rarer materials- but a lot of the big projects people have just eat stone like a sprinting Steve eats zombie flesh. That's part of the reason that Sleit and I were discussing rail lines between our bases- to send 10 cart trains of chest carts back and forth with cobblestone and other resources.

I used more than two double chests of stone just to make my bridge...

Oh yeah, I should probably reduce the prices, as anyone who actually has a desire to get a large amount of stone wouldn't want to have to drop too many emeralds, it'd be a hassle for them to collect. But making this stone costs me 1 Diamond per 32 stacks or so. So the best price I could do is 2 Diamons per large chest and Emeralds are not 1:1 with diamonds, nor are emeralds worth more than diamonds, no matter what the villagers say (and some crazy players). I could go for 1 Emerald per 6 Stacks of stone. Since all you need to do to get an emerald is sell a basket of 20 potatoes or a stack of 30 papers at the trading hall nearby to get an emerald. That's 9 Emeralds for a double chest, so 1 Block of Emerald for 3456 Stone / Cobblestone, doesn't sould like much... oh well, I was giving this stuff away for free before.

Also, I did consider getting nether brick, since my pickaxe chews through netherack like wheat. I just need to find more diamonds, I've run out.

Though I don't expect you to ever actually go buy anything from the stall. But hey, if you want, just take a double chest now, my treat. It's the stall with the green and white roof.

Use efficiency-enchanted iron picks. It's renewable and almost as fast.

Eh, I feel like doing some diamond mining, it's been a while since I've actually did any underground mining. Plus I've already got another Efficiency 5, Unbreaking 3 Diamond Pickaxe.

I like the shape and design, I might steal those statues for an underground area. But I don't like how the statues are made from the same materials as the wall, making them blend in, in a bad way. Maybe use nether brick or different wood? I don't know what would look best...

seconded. You can barely see them. Maybe quartz and obsidian would look better, if pocket ed has them.

that was from the overflow chests, not the primary storage chests with the lights above them. Please don't do that again.

just go afk at the cobblestone generator with a piece of tape on the mouse and you should have more than enough to keep you busy I'm surprised you guys don't have hundreds of chests of stone somewhere.

I wrote a handy book for this on the COBBLOTRON.
1. F3 + P to prevent the game from auto pausing when you switch windows
2. Make the ALT key the mining key
3. Face the COBBLOTRON's cobblestone and ALT+TAB out of there.
NOTE: might have to have something else open to alt+tab to, like your favorite web browser.

I have plenty of stone and anyone can use the COBBLOTRON to get plenty of stone as well, but getting 6 stacks of stone takes longer than getting 20 carrots, so I'm sure some people might consider harvesting the nearby farms (assuming they've fully grown), getting a few emeralds and buying some, then switching to the COBBLOTRON. When they're done, just make a second harvest, could easily get thousands of stone on top of what you could get from the COBBLOTRON.

Once GangstaMuffin24 is done with the area, I may collect many more chests of stone, maybe some day someone will buy some.

Darkinnit, when sirlynchy invited us all to his tower I think I recall seeing you wearing a cape. How do you that? Is it a mod, or a skin?

Whoop. Sorry bout that. Like I said, Dria told me to help myself, and I thought that the big row of item-fram'd chests was your primary 'grab from here' section. Many apologies. If you'd like me to repay you, I could. Not sure what you'd need, but I could maybe do a 1 for 1.


And like I said- I've used hundreds of chests of stone. That wall you see around my place isn't just on the surface dirt- it goes down to native rock. And each pillar that comprises one of the jags in my wall is solid. 12 blocks per layer of each pillar, times 3 pillars deep, times about 20 or 30 pillars long for each section of wall (the outer curtain wall, anyways), and then go up anywhere from 10 to 30 blocks high? Lots and lots of stone.

Vanilla arguably has more mega-constructions than the modded servers, just because of the time each vanilla map is up.

Nope, that's my stuff for my projects. Most of my stone use is hidden, mainly in comparators & repeaters, but also mossy bricks. I want to keep those chests for me for when I need stone it's there. When I have extra I have no problem with donating it, or giving it to someone who can use it, I just don't want to need stone and find out it's all been taken.

Just ask first and I'll let you know if I have extra stone.

Have you put a sign up over the chest to mark it as private?

I've been pondering a group hardcore survival game. If anyone else is interested I might rent a Realm for a month or 2 (which realistically limits it to 10 people). The big issues are getting everyone on at the same time on a fairly regular basis. Takers?

I'd love to do that. I've been playing quite a bit of hardcore lately (after a recent binge into the terrafirmacraft mod made my remember how fun survivalism is).

yep, the whole room is marked private, plus I believe the faq says all chests are private unless marked public. It was just a bit of confusion from Sunday where I was handing out lots of stuff.

Pretty much. There weren't any places marked as 'public' that I could see at all- that, coupled with the invitations and general "Make yourself at home" ness of the open-house, led me to believe something that wasn't so.

Take faith that your stone was not used in vain, though. And I'll gladly donate a chest or two to repay you if you wish. Or spend the time to stock you up on snow, if you want, now that I have a good snow generator.

I tried really, really hard to do some mega-builds in Tekkit because resources were so easy to mass produce. I really wish I could have finished my giant Rubiks Cube.
