I assume that there's potions of flight in that patch? Long ones... Or are people just going to build a bridge out to that halo? Ah wait there was something about teleporters in those patch notes (though I take it those wouldn't spawn on that already loaded main island).
Did nobody watch the Snapshot video on the previous page?
New mobs are Shulkers- blocks that open up into... things that shoot homing projectiles that do tiny bits of damage and a levitation effect that makes you float up. (then fall when it wears out).
What I was concerned about with generation was the secondary Portal that spawns when the Enderdragon is killed- that's what you use to get to the outer-islands for the first time- and I'm betting that the re-spawning of the Dragon involves the incredibly precious, already probably taken Dragon Egg.
Anyways, I think I'll see about mining away some of those pillars anyways- where's the main portal at?
GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

around ordgars is the portal to the end. Build a haste 2 beacon to help you along.
There are 2 dragon eggs in the game, BBrotherwood and I have one, I'm not sure who has the other. If I have to I would use it to summon the dragon for us, but I really like it where it is . It will be interesting to see what this dragon breath is and if it's worth farming the dragon over.
I'm concerned about the new light sticks, so far there is no crafting recipe for them, and it doesn't look like there are many end dungeons to collect them.

I... Don't know where Ordgar's is. There's no markers in the Nether for him. Is it just near Spawn?
... Man, now I know how it used to be when people were trying to find my place.

I don't know where Ordgar is either, but there's a portal to a fortress in the North Nether Tunnel. It should be the first left tunnel, a simple cobblestone tunnel. Once you go through the portal just turn right and there's the End Portal.
Portal-wise when you are in the nether hub go through the tunnel next to the Spawn portal. The portal through the doors at the very end should lead to his base. If you are unable to find his portal through the doors then just use mine (in the room opposite the crafting area)
Yeah, that big structure in the desert used to be my base, incomplete pyramids included. I've since moved on.
I should probably destroy it or something...

Help yourself. Raze it to the ground.
Just leave the nether brick pyramid. That might a cool monument, if I can be arsed to finish it.

At the moment it involves drawing a creeper face with some clay.
What it will be come the 1.9 release is anybody's guess.

Stormwarrior I believe.
Close but the wrong storm themed player :p it currently resides in my library but should it be needed I suppose I could part ways with it as I don't want to hold anyone else back from the game

Speaking of, I think we're in need of a lot of stonebrick, as we're going to extend our rail system. Does anyone have a double chest of cobble laying around that I can help myself to? Doesn't need to be smelted.

Sure, just take some from the stone shop at spawn. I have more smelted stone so you might as well take that instead of the cobble. Just head down the ladder in the store and smash the empty chest when you're done.
I finished the mostly automated wheat farm on n0t_u's property, rather liking it. All you have to do is hit the button in the early morning once the wheat is grown. Everything else is handled by the system.

So I will be building something at spawn.

I have a fair bit of stone at the Mountain Crown storage room that you're welcome to.
And I just found out that it's possible to make wheat in to hay.
Huh.
