Hmm, the sea canal look to be tricksy.... But then again the whole project is an insane proposal to begin with....
Nonetheless we shall link the home continent of Dakka by water as well as rail and road!

Looking at terrain. From ulm river to the coast a tunnel canal might be more viable a concept than carving a corinth canal all the way down. Less material to remove.

There might be a shorter cut into mesa but that mean demolishing other areas of mesa for a open channel too...

Hmmm

I can see a shorter route for a tunnel canal on a axis between the old house I now own and the nether portal.

Don, t cut too high as house has a two level basement and there's a cave nearby to contend with but could be possible route.

That or a cut through on other side of stoney shores bridge. Longer. Maybe less obstacles.

Maybe. That's slightly less digging to construct the system.

I have spare redstone supplies I could lend to the project.
Umm... Would slime block system do it...

I'm not a redstone expert though. I know you can use slime blocks to build elevators..

Maybe a two sided elevator if the right tech could be built on server.

Okay, who has removed the jump beacon at spawn? It was there last time I visited but now it is not, and a pool lies where its great gemstone pyramid was.

I removed it to use it elsewhere to improve farming production. Didn't work. I put it back in the exact place it was before, guided by the flat 9x9 patch with no tall grass or torches but you can move it and change it's buff if you want.

I'm surprised someone noticed it was gone. I just use it for chorus fruit picking with a good axe and jumping over the nearby walls.

Best way to upgrade farm production is use a fortune 3 pick or tool, and you can get a pretty high yield.

I do. I tried to use a speed boost but when replanting while strafing sideways it kept leaving gaps because I was moving too fast, so I waste more time fixing the gaps than I make from being faster. Well, it feels that way anyway.

You leave gaps when running at normal speeds planting.
That or build a auto water farm that you just flick a lever and then head up and replant it.

You know the cascade designs.

Just a thought, has anyone bothered ever fluffing up some history for the server/their lands? Im thinking of doing something like it for Ulm.

And on another note, the guests lodge is coming soon! You might be able to see it on the map - have a guess where though

I checked on Dakka map.
The north tunnel seemed to least reach-474. Maybe more.

So new stone should be about if we exit around the 4km mark or further

Should anyway....
Long as no one explored the axis too heavily pre the new stone blocks.

Continents at - 5500 surface. Or about 7-800 in the nether?
Maybe a smudge more. But need to go beyond that for new stone it seemed.

Potential sited at 4600. - 1700. And - 2600.4600

Anyone else got new stone aka granite publicly mine able any closer?
These both solidly identified sites are thousands of blocks away.

I don't know if anyone has made that much lore for their places. Most folks seem to put up signs and make fancy titles to imply lore, rather than write it out.

Unfortunately, since I explored most of the unexplored areas on the dakka map when it only went 4000 blocks away from the center of the map, it means it'd be unlikely for you to find a place within that area that has granite. Theoretically, since the chunks containing ocean monuments were meddled with to have them spawn the monuments in previously explored areas, there might be granite beneath them, especially if the chunks were reset manually by darkinnit rather than being put there automatically by the update, good luck finding out which is which. But that's just a guess. I don't know if you think it's worth the effort to find out.

There's a quarry with granite at the far far end of the south nether tunnel. It has a bunch of exposed granite that you can scoop up yourself and there's a couple chests of granite on top in storage. You can have a double chest of granite from there if you want.

I have, but it's all in my head.

the good bit is that I'm living on top of the endermens first city. they fled when it flooded to the end dimension, and now the wander the world looking for it. That's why they're always picking up blocks. but they'll never find it, as it's in the one place they're afraid to go

I have nothing, but I do have a growing castle/island and plans to convert the nearby island into something.

Kinda fun, maybe the end cities are there new homes and the nether is the ruins of there grand cities that they lost access time and that's how they fell into ruin and taken over.

Yes, there should be granite and andesite etc in the terrain beneath ocean monuments. At the time, I reset those unoccupied chunks rather than spending too much time trying to place just the monument

So... I theory is a dig below the monument and I find a limited supply of stones under the monument

Thanks.. Looks like if needed I'm starting a quarry.

I have granite and the other new-ish ores mineable in one of the desert places out in the NE.. here:

https://www.darkinnit.com/newdakkamap/#/5394/64/-4300/-1/0/0

Feel free to go mine under the village (there's a stairwell down, just keep going pretty much straight on from the portal). Just light up any new areas you mine.

I too have a load of in-game lore that, like Sir Ralphy's, remains in-head. The Sacred Mountain area is mostly built by the people that later became the Zombie Pigmen, in the days before they unleashed that dreadful curse on themselves, when they were a highly advanced species of builders who just happened to worship some very evil Cthulhoid gods.

There's also stocks at the community Necton tomb complex.
I assume it was as it was linked to spawn and not signed.

If not, we'll live and learn.
My sheep are down on the lower levels if you need to bag some to start a herd. Just make sure to breed back some colour replacements and dye them white.

We have a slight problem at spawn. Yet another zombie siege happened but in this case some of the blocks on the roof of the trade hall where missing (I dont know why, but it may have something to do with the lightning storm earlier) and some zombies got in. I've killed them off but the traders in the affected stalls will need replacing (dont worry, the zombies are 'gone' now).
I dont have the correct wood to repair the roof, but I have put some grey wool in the important gaps.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also, there is a baby zombie caught in the road. I tried to dig it out and kill it but it appears to be immune to damage. It wont move, burn or be hit.
I cant replace the blocks, so their stacked next to it for whomever finds the solution to place.

Someone's fixed it already?

I was gonna log on today and fit a temp stone slab roof until something nicer could be made.

If it's already been fitted
It has, good job on trading hall roof, brick too. Fancy.

Cool chicken too

I also reinforced part of the spawn walls near the chicken as there was a minor weak point where a zombie was sneaking in. I had to take some stone from the exchange but I've reinforced the ridge, two other points where it was potentially vulnerable.

Il check the rest of the flank another day and make sure it's all protected.
