Beat Halo 4 it was surprisingly good. Perhaps this series needed a hand off to a new team. It was such a refreshing change of pace to not be shooting Covenant all the time. I hope they put in different bad guys every new game from now on.

Not sure about the ending though, it didn't really make sense. Well, a lot of the story didn't really make sense but the gameplay was good.

feth all, bored to tears this week.

And, while to the purely gamers this will be a great annoyance, most of the halo story makes sense if you read the novels, though Halo: reach burned a lot of bridges to form a much worse story, wish they'd stuck to the book on that one.

I've lately started to get my fighting game itch back but I'm unsure of what game to get to scratch it... I'm a Soul Calibur veteran (1 to 4) but not sure if it's still the game for me. Are there any big fighting games coming out or should I just pick up the latest Mortal Kombat?

My opinions ~exactly, really good Halo gameplay but a Garbage, incomprehensible, story imo. Loved the soundtrack/new music-writer as well, Marty o'donnell has disappeared up his own butt since H2 imo.

Playing the FREE Injustice iPhone/iPad game. It's a ton of fun, you don't HAVE to buy anything, but once you get playing, you'll probably WANT to buy the $5 character booster pack: it gives you Harley Quinn and 2 intermediate level characters. My two were an upgraded Solomon Grundy and the first level Wonder Woman. For those who don't know how it works, each character has a few different available levels, mixed between bronze, silver and gold. Some, like Batman and Superman, only exist in gold. Others like SG are in Bronze and Silver, and WW are in Silver and Gold. Both versions have different specials and built in abilities. I've been addicted to it since I learned about it Sunday night.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Guild Wars 2, and a lot of it lol. Finally hit level 60.

So far I have 2 issues one being down to me. First one is bank space, holy crap does it run out fast.

Second being in race choice, I really don't like the Charr/Asura/Sylvari leading me to not roll those races hence making me miss some personal stories.

When the rich rage war it's the poor who die

Armies I have: Chaos Space Marines, Tau, Necrons, High Elves

Armies I want:Lizardmen, Warriors Of Chaos, Dark Eldar

Armies I may get: Dark Angels, Tomb Kings, Vampire Counts

My wife and I skip through the cut scenes so the only things that I really know about the Halo universe come from some of the novels (which are more interesting than the games at times). I'll be honest, I was sorta meh on the new enemies. The crawlers were like the Flood but armed, the Knights are like more annoying Elites the way they teleport when injured instead of hopping about, and the Watchers were like the Sentinels from other Halo games but have the challenge of giving out shields or respawning the enemy. Even the weapons felt like replicas of existing ones (light rifle-battle rifle, scattershot-shotgun, binary rifle-sniper rifle, suppressor-SAW, boltshot-plasma pistol minus EMP). At least the Covenant ones had something that made them unique

I did feel that the Covenant were a better enemy, they use different troops with different tactics to attack you. The Prometheans spam Crawlers at you while Watchers throw up shields for the Knights to grenade spam you, or respawn enemies.

But that's just my two cents.

Anyways, its finally spring here, the yard work has started, some of my family are coming to visit and there are a whole raft of household projects that need done and we have guests with us this week so farewell gaming time for a bit

It still nice to have something new to shoot. I've killed a lot of Covenant in my day. I was happy when the war ended in Halo 3 so I wouldn't have to fight them anymore.

I still vastly prefer fighting the Covenant, or to be more precise, Elites.

The biggest beef's I've had with the halo series was the lack of Elites in Halo 2 ( NOBODY CARES ABOUT BRUTES) and the giant retcon of the fall of reach novel, which I still think is the best Halo novel.

Completely agree with this, but I think Contact Harvest was my favorite. Glasslands was really good, too.

As for me, I started replaying Dead Island with my brother. That game is waaay more fun in co-op

What sucks the more is that imo the Halo 2 elites were the best. The 'Ultras' (iirc, the white doods) in that game were the best enemies i've had the pleasure of fighting. The brutes were really cool in that game, their bezerk charge was absolutely terrifying, but nothing on the elites. The elites in Reach felt a little too puny (you could easily take on 5 or 6 at a time, in H2 2 elites at once was a real battle) and dont get me started on the H3 brutes.

I'm playing war thunder, WW2 flying MMO. Tons of fun.
On another note, while I enjoyed the story of halo 4, I felt that the actual dynamics were rather lackluster, and quite repetitive. I also felt that the multiplayer was more of a reskined COD, with none of the addictiveness of previous games in the series. just my two cents.

Took a glimpse into the turn-based F2P browser strategy game Jagged Alliance Online. I actually only did this because I'm backing for Shadowrun Online (made by the same company, using the same engine) and wanted to get an idea of what I could expect from the final product, meaning what level of anticipation would be warranted.

I was pleasently surprised by what I saw so far (even though JAO is all about gunfights, whereas SRO aims for something more) and already have a team of 3 mercs (Raven with a Sig SG550 for long range sniping, Buzz on a machine gun, and my custom character as a SMG-wielding commando acting as bait or flanker) ... guess I'll throw a few more missions this evening.

It's a cool attempt but it becomes Pay-To-Play pretty soon - at least back when I played. Pity.

I normally play SWAT on LIVE so I don't much notice the other modes, but from what I have played it seems the assault rifle does more than just make noise now

Couldn't agree more. In the end, the brutes in Halo 2 were easy as hell since you could 2shot them in the head. (one shot to knock off the helmet).

Halo 3 was IMO the worst halo when it comes to actual gameplay. Fighting that many brutes just felt terrible. I actually prefer fighting drones over them.

Yup. To be completely honest, I think the Drones killed me more than anything else in the game! I honestly felt like ODST was the best of the original series.

...Now I'm going to play through ODST again when I get home I just wish my friends still played it...I really liked playing the Firefight mode.

Hmmh, I'm only at level 14 now, but so far wasn't even tempted to buy anything for real cash - although, for the record, I wouldn't mind shelling out a few bucks if I actively enjoy a game. Fair trade and all; when I feel entertained, I'm quite willing to reward the developer, up to a certain degree/amount.

I heard that they may have dropped some stuff you originally had to pay for, such as healing and repairing, which is currently done for no cost at the conclusion of a mission. Or should I expect something else later down the road? What was it that drove you away? Right now, the only thing I see where I absolutely have to spend gold is more merc slots in the team, but apparently you even get some gold just for logging in regularly...

But for Shadowrun Online, I'm aiming to play on the box-purchase campaign server, where a cash shop will be non-existent and everything is available only for ingame currency. Can't wait until that one goes live.

It isn't, reloaded was a broken buggy crapfest of a game.

I'm playing an excellent new game called 'Cluedo', which is a spiffing game about trying to find out who murdered Mr X.

Being serious though, I'm quite into Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Academy (take the mick out of me all you want for playing an ancient game! *sob*). It's the best game EVER!

This was my thought too.

I was oddly impressed with both the story mode and the challenge tower.

Vegas 2 was one game that I played for about a year, and ignored everything else. I liked the changes they made to the game (especially the sprint) except for reducing the co-op campaign from 4 player to 2 player.
