Tried Skyrim on PC. Hated it.

Picked it up for PS3. it's okay, I guess.

I've been playing Darksiders 1 on my computer, now that my graphics card has been fixed, gaming is fun again .

Doing my final playthrough of Dragon Age for the last achievement (all the endings). It never ceases to amaze me that Leliana, the weakest companion and rogue, is always the one to finish off the heaviest hitters in the game - dragons, orge alphas, bosses etc. 9 times out of 10 she is the one to get the final hit

My only memories of that series are the horrendous loading times and the overly complex/crap combat system. I'dve loved to get into the story (the books were great), but the execution of the game hampered me from getting into it. The rips from it that appeared as mods for Skyrim were fun though. =)

I recently started playing Warframe again plus a bit of Dan Of War 2 Retribution.

Putting the *disappointment of Bioshock:Infinite behind me i'm currently playing through the original Bioshock on my iMac, using a Wineskin Wrapper. Rapture is soooo much better than Columbia

I was looking at picking Kirby's Epic Yarn. Had anyone played that? It's received good reviews, but I don't know anyone personally who's played it.

Dragon Age completed, with Leliana doing what she does best and up staging the tanks to kill the Archdemon I might start Hitman Contracts now, I'm not really in the mood to achievement hunt in some other games

What was Farcry 3 like? I tried Farcry 2 but my memory of it is a little soured from the save file glitch that happened over 3/4 of the way through the game

I am only about 10 hours into FC3, and keep in mind I played Bioshock: Infinite before hand, but I think it's a very solid single player FPS. On a scale of 1-10, where 5 is an average game and worth playing, I'd give FC3 a 6.5. (For compaison, B:I gets a 4.5.) So, considering that against the launch price, I'd say FC3 is probably worth about forty of your dollars.

Thanks, it was one of those games that I heard about coming up to release and then it dropped off the radar. I usually have a lot of time for Ubisoft games (especially Ghost Recon and Rainbow 6 series').
I might look into it more later. We have wedding number 2 coming up (last year we had to JoP it, this year its the Church wedding), my family coming over and the reception so our money is pretty well spent already

You better all be wrong about Bioshock Infinite. It better be the best game ever!

I don't how I'd score Farcry 3. It deserves an 8/10 but I find myself just trying to get through it. Eh, I'll give it a 7.5 I guess.

Just want to say regarding this, I don't go for industry-style reviews where anything less than 8 is bad. For me, 5 = a solid game that is worth playing but should be purchased for about $20 or less. On that scale, B:I is <5 IMO.

Yea X-com is quite a nice game but there are a few thing that irk me. Mostly random class selection, not being able to change nationality for the soldiers.

Luckily most of these can be bypassed with a mod. Only used the mod to get rid of some annoying things and to create a squad based on me(sniper), my brother(sniper), my gf(support) and my best friend(heavy) just to have characters I care about so I don't lose em by doing something stupid.

I picked up up few days ago when it was £10 on steam. Good game thus far, should have picked it up sooner.

I do my gaming on the 360 so mods aren't something that I can use

Modding around random class selection defeats part of the point of the game, which is working with the hand dealt you. Modding around random nationality strikes me as pointless given that it is 100% cosmetic.

Unfortunately X-COM was on Steam sale -66% like three or four days ago. If I see it somewhere I'll give you a heads up. As other people here I definitely recommend it.
And yes, Bioshock: I is definitely not as good as they say.

As for the main topic. Approaching 60th day on Don't Starve. Finally made the game my b.
Also, because System Shock 2 hit the Steam I'll probably be playing it in the near future. It's one of my favourite games ever.

Granted that the nationality thing is purely cosmetic then it doesn't affect the gameplay, its more for authenticity than anything. Given I created me and my group I wanted them to be as close to themselves as possible. Having my character run around with a Chinese flag was not what I would call authentic. I also only used the mod to set classes for 4 people, only to designate roles that I thought would fit with the person I named, I know for a fact my best mate would not be running around trying to heal people, he would want the biggest gun possible. Once again its an authentic thing. Once I have a bit of fun with this squad I do plan on doing an Ironman play through where everything is set to "default".
