Oh my! Colour me inspired then, I managed that particular figth once I reached lvl 12 so kudos to you! I had a custom party for the most part but kept the mage that you meet early on in the first town. And yes.... I know its quite inspiring indeed but the loot it awesome

Screw fighting, I'm taking the easy way out. I managed to talk my way into convincing the blasted thing to let me help it so it can go free, let him rip the world to shreds for all I care

Haha yea.... I sorta just wanted to cave someones head in after Odin knows how many levels chocked full with spiders, spirits, cultists and what not. Next time I will try that approach

Well, it was going well. I had rebuilt my forces a bit more intelligently, captured a castle, and got recognized by the king of swandia. Then another country delcared war, and It was a 70ish vs 500+ seige. That did not go well. Now it's time to rebuild my forces (again)

As soon as you have finished your native run through I suggest the Prophesy Of Pendor mod - still in my mind the most complete and comprehensive mod, you can even make your own knighthood order (which I start as soon as I get my first castle granted to me) - just stay the hell away from elves till you are mid-late game, they wreck armies hard.

I am near the end of chapter 2 (at least I assume so) when I decided to do the blasted things. After meeting a vampire that was talking to me in an unknown language I decided to poke around the web. Oh look, I gain that knowledge in a particular part of the main quest... reload, back to questing, back to Old Nua. So far, so good, I hope I'm good enough for the last 2 levels, 14 and 15.

Trondheim wrote:
Oh you will be pleased to know that you only have two more levels of Endless path to go, but the last two levels are abject frustration and hair pulling frustration. I spent more than a fair share of patiecent on that particular quest line. Remember to bring enough stuff to kill of pesky spirits and such.

Gaaah, if there was one thing that pissed me off was a certain stunt: I'm walking and suddenly *BAM* spawn of spirits everywhere around you. I have my main character always scouting ahead for a blasted reason

Well those tend to be annoying as hellfire I agree with, I had my party rocking exceptional grade weapons and aromour when I reached lvl 15, still took me six sepperate tries to kill of the damned things. But the spirits in lvl 15 will not come totaly ouf of the blue, but non the less. Be carefull with the position of your party I say

Position is a joke in half the fights in that game. You get your guys carefully set up so that you can block the enemy with a choke point...

And then the beetles "tunnel" (i.e. instantly teleport) over to your party's designated target (you know the one - the one party member who always gets attacked even if he or she spends the entire battle sitting in the corner twiddling his or her thumbs). Or the spirits teleport past your front line to hit the designated target, and clone themselves.

That's probably the thing I hate most about PoE.

As for the Endless Paths...

I've been working on it as I play sporadically. But I'm getting sick and tired of the locked doors that can't be picked and traps that can't be disarmed because they're too high level. I specifically went with a rogue class for my protagonist so that I could deal with the mechanical crap, and dumped all of my points into the skill for those tasks. And it's still not enough.

It's too bad. I find the plot interesting. But I *really* don't like the nuts and bolts of the game's system.

Endless Paths were good, but don't go to the last level unitl you're VERY high level. The endboss there is the hardest enemy in the game and easily one-hits a lvl 9 party.

Ally with the noldor. Capture their ranger parties, talk to each prisoner, release them until you get to a +20 relationship. Then you can go to their castle and recruit noldor troops.

Telltale's Game of Thrones. A new episode came out and I was looking for something decent to play. I've ran through the first two episodes of it now and its shaping up pretty well. I have most of their recent games, yet haven't managed to play any of them bar the first episode of The Walking Dead. What I've played of this series is encouraging though. ...Even if not knowing how choices will pan out, or even if they will at all, leaves me a bit disheartened (what the hell was that key for in episode 1...). Two episodes in though I can say that I'm noticing that the game's falling back on standard RPG mechanics of not being able to take a moderate position, rather unless you chose one of two approaches NPCs give you flak for being non-committal. Well excuse me if I don't want to sound like a dick with every word out of my mouth or if I don't want to just roll over all the time...

...Not that anything bar the major choices matter of course.

I bet by the end of the game all your player characters are dead, raped or ruined for life and not in any particular order.

I wish those witches would stop fellating the GoT cash cow and put some more effort into Tales from the Borderlands, instead of making us wait for months on end.

Yeah, another vote for Prophesy of Pendor. It's good stuff! Also, yes ally the Noldor.

Also find Qualis gems, find all the Qualis gems!

Mod adds more enjoyable repeatable quests/activities, roving factions that are effectively bandits but way stronger... The difference between having gear and not having gear is waaaay more noticeable, feels like playing an MMO and just starting out and running up against someone in raid gear... ouch. With no levels and poor equipment, you'll bounce off even similarly sized forces until you catch up.. but the plus side is that you can attain a level of personal power that mocks what you could do in Calradia. My armored archer rides around on a nearly immortal horse shrugging off all but the nastiest of crossbows shot by expert archers. He's a bit bowlegged when he gets to ground level but whenever I get back to it he's gonna find another handful of qualis gems to get a badass sword as well as a god-bow (the bow is literally a god that told me to use it to beat roving barbarins, no joke!).

Agreed. I finished the first couple of chapters of their GoT game, and then set it aside until after the full thing is released. There's no real payoff for playing the individual chapters. New Tales from the Borderlands chapters, however, would be played immediately - if they were releasing any. So far they've released five GoT chapters, but only two ToB chapters. And the first chapters of the games were released only a week apart.

"Yeah, it was a long wait, now shut up!" The first thing Marcus said when they finally released the second Tales of the Borderlands episode. Bleh I say, bleh.

Hopefully, when the GoT stuff is finally done they can focus on getting us the rest of ToB in a more timely fashion.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.

I'm playing the episodes the day they release, but I have no desire to replay them, unlike Life Is Srange (I have a pattern of playing each episode on the day of release, then replaying the entire game up to that episode, which I have repeated for all 5 episodes ). Playing the game just feels like a chore, but thats probably because I've been spoiled by Life Is Strange's rewind mechanic and I have a bad habit of quitting the game and reloading a checkpoint (often having to replay 5+ minutes) just because I changed my mind about a line of dialogue I chose. I really hate how Telltale games have a timer to force you to choose dialogue quickly.

The only character I'm becoming really invested in is Asher, and thats because I'm playing him as a cheeky bastard who flirts with anyone and everyone (including Daenerys Targaryen) and never backs down from a fight. (I had him head butt a morbidly obese Pit Fighter. )

Where GoT gets particularly annoying is when you pick a particular response option... and then belatedly realize that what the character is saying is completely different from what you thought they were going to say.

On another note, I've been playing around with Beyond Earth again. The Little Islands map is rather quirky to play on.

The player set-up distribution could use some work, though. It seems like all of the AI players are always distributed evenly around the map... except for the one who lands practically right on top of me, and complains every single time I complete an expedition or found a new colony (because I'm so close to his territory).

Also had an amusing situation the other day in which Elodie handed over four cities to get a peace treaty... and then immediately complained that my cities were too close to her territory.

/rolleyes

More xcom enemy within and more BS. I was doing fine had one country away from full panic and had a few unfortunate missions which killed off one of my vets for no ****ing reason and another which was a total waste as i lost the bomb disposal mission and had to leave a vet behind. If that wasn't bad enough everybody worth a **** was in medbay esp. my heavies when one day after bomb disposal failure i'm forced into a terror mission. Basically i face chrysallids in ridiculous numbers and have to deal with the threat of 2-3 impregnating civilians while the rest come at me with zombies everywhere. Once again only alien grenades so i was way, way ill equipped for this right now of all times. Personally i'd like whoever designed 3-4 missions within a 4-5 days timespan to be shot by firing squad.

Just started playing Elder Scrolls Online. I want to play a stealthy archer (which is what I typically play in Elder Scrolls anyway) so went with a Bosmer Nightblade). But I want to pick my faction and not be locked by race so bought the Adveturers Pack.

Which faction would people recommend? Which regions are the most interesting and fun, quest and geography wise? I'm partial to Ebonheart Pact because Skyrim and Morrowind.
