I've got a nasty cold, and have been soothing it by playing Diablo II, which is somehow appealing to my fever addled brain.

I've wrapped up Aliens: Isolation myself yesterday, still got four achievements left to unlock, still need to find a few of those Nostromo logs and a few name badges.

I was really disappointed with Colonial Marines after having played Rebellion's "Aliens Versus Predators". I enjoyed that game immensely.

Been playing lots of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on my Xbox. Yeah, I play Call of Duty. Wanna fight about it?!

No....pretty sure a lot of people play Call of Duty.

Been playing playing Prophesy of Pendor (thanks again for the recommendation). Quite fun. I have a good amount of land (3 towns in fact) and powerful armies in all the holds and stuff, but I seem to be spending most of my time trying to get lords over to my side.

@Co'tor Shas, yeah I think there's a lot of that. Especially if you want to be your own king without having everyone come at you all at once.

Have you battled any of the unique spawn/heroic enemies/armies like Wolfbode or the others? The second question (if you've done that) is, what have you done with your Qualis gems?

If I ever resume my playthrough I'm gonna need several more... I want another potion so I can get 30 strength for certain gear in my inventory, I could *really* use a good one handed sword, and there are a couple of other things. Would have to wait for Wolfbode to respawn though. What a fun fight, I think it took me more than two arrows to drop him and that's unheard of against any other unit. A couple of horses maybe.. but not people.

I've fought the Barkley (IIRC) guy twice, the first time it was right after fighting off an army, so I got trashed, the second time I was properaly prepared and it was him who go the trashing. I haven't decided what to do with it yet, I was thinking of unlocking the noldor arms and armour, but I'm not sure if there is another way to do that.

I think you gotta spend one to buy from that vendor. Another buys the tip to see the elves and compete in their tournament (may be able to win gear there?). Then there's the potion, and the buying/enhancing gear. If you have the stats and bankroll to buy and equip noldor gear, it would probably be pretty useful. I think there's a neat trick you can do with a guildmaster if you have one of those gems in your inventory, but there's a good chance you'll lose it so it isn't really advisable w/o a lot of reloading

Skyrim on pc for the first time, with a modest number of mods installed. Still at Helgen but I'm surprised so far. Running the game on medium graphics, and its running extremely smoothly. Was not expecting that, my pc has struggled at times with Attila Total War and Fallout New Vegas.

Current mods installed are:

Hunterborn/Hunting in Skyrim.
Frostfall.
Falskaar.
Wyrmstooth.
Perkus Maximus.

I did have Sky UI activated but for some reason the script extender turned itself off somehow which deactivated SkyUI.

Also had to remove some of the optional extras in Hunterborn, like craftable candles and lanterns because they were causing incompatibility issues. Couldn't get past the first loading screen without a CTD.

I was thoroughly impressed with the Falskaar mod. The creator should definitely feel proud about it, considering how much content there is.

Are you using the new steam version of SKSE? If so i don't have any experience with it so can't comment. If not, remember to use the dedicated 'Skyrim(SKSE)' launcher, which you can create a desktop icon for, or if you're using Nexus Mod Manager it's a drop down option in the top right, 'Launch Skyrim' -> 'Launch Skyrim(SKSE)'. If you use the default Skyrim launcher (The one with Dragonborn hanging out in some mountains) which you get when you click on the game in the Steam library SKSE will not switch on. Also if you start Skyrim (Even SKSE!) while exited from Steam, Steam itself will automatically bring up the default launcher, simply hit 'Exit' and run SKSE again, should get you straight to the Bethesda splash screen. The main menu will say something like 'Ver 1.93.2 (SKSE) 1.72.3' in the bottom left if SKSE is running properly.

It's weird...haven't played Skyrim in a couple years (x360), so when I started ESO a month ago it felt nostalgic. Now I'm playing Skyrim on my pc, I'm getting the exact same feeling again.

Cheers. at first that option didn't appear in Nexus MM so I downloaded SKSE again and now it's all working. I know for a fact that I downloaded it a couple months ago...

Mount and Blade Warband, or rather Mount and Blade Warband with hackers. Damn is that game useless when it comes to that sort of thing. Kicking players isn't a ban, they can just relog in a few seconds. Even worse in that the hackers can just remove your ability to kick them too. I'm remembering how dire the community for that game is now. =/

Native, Napoleonic, or North and South?

I play a lot of Native and Napoleonic so it sucks if they are starting to attract hackers.

My God does Sky UI make a difference in Skyrim. This must be the BEST inventory interface I've ever used in an rpg.

And Damn, those nostalgic feels...

"Some may call this junk, me I call them treasures..."
- me, when I walk through the door at the Riverwood Trader despite not having played Skyrim for going on two years.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I'm starting to remember why Skyrim was such a time sink on x360.

Now imagine that time sink at an order of magnitude greater for pc, with role play mods like hunting and skinning animals, frostfall which adds gameplay mechanics involving keeping yourself warm and dry to survive exposure, and two new regions in Falskaar and Wyrmstooth.

My God, what have I done...

None of those, it was The Deluge mod. Apparently that mod's server's are so open that hackers can make it so the "kick player" poll leads to the "change number of bots" one. You'd think that if a player's kicked a few times though the system would kick in a temp ban on them as otherwise you're left with those people and the player numbers tank.

So not any of the "main" mods as it were at least. However I did a quick search on hacking the game and there's entire sub-forums dedicated to it. Wonder why players can voice spam "blee" constantly? The game doesn't pick up modified files somehow.

Jumped on a Napoleonic Wars server and considered applying as an admin out of spite for all the RDMers. Thought better of it when I looked at the server's site and seen that it had dozens of admins, but none were ever online. That and its easier to just give up on those servers for a while and let all the idiots fall off of my radar. Pity that there aren't many public servers up these days, especially for smaller, but great mods like Iron Europe. Shame that those mods are so much better than Napoleonic Wars, yet because they aren't official DLC they have crap player bases. :/

I love how in so many games, the 'best' mods and hacks are all 'Get GodMode! Infinity +1 sword added to starting inventory! Everyone Naked!'

Skyrim's got its share of those, but all the mods that people go gaga over are the ones that make the game harder.

They're not too expensive on steam, and it goes on sale like once a month, so I doubt you'd have to wait long.

Yeah, the problem for me is actually having money in the account for that. (Credit cards for the time being are a no go for funding). Fortunately Hearthfire is the cheapest DLC, and it's the one I want the most.

So yesterday I logged into GTA online to be greeted by a hacker using the car gun. Then another went around spawning UFOs and random space rocks everywhere. Then I tried to relog onto a different server, it wouldn't do it.

Though they don't include adoption mechanics, house mods are a good alternative if you don't want to pay for Hearthfire. I think there's also a build your own house mod, and if you look carefully, you should be able to find a castle mod or two that doesn't need Dragonborn or Dawnguard.

While it's likely obvious, avoid Steam Workshop for house mods though. While there are some good creations, if a creator pulls their mod, and you lose whatever you stored in that building, it'll be tough getting all that stuff back.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Yeah, the steam workshop can be iffy with mods. Really easy to use, but you won't be guaranteed the things you want to be using will be on there.
