Thanks for the clarification. Not to harp on the gecko but does that have an ejection system as well? I'm guessing no due to the smaller size/cost.

From the art book it appears to be a combination of armor plating for the operator(it lines up with the operator's torso when he's seated) and balance.
The massive upper legs as well are armor plating for the operator.

Either way, it's a quick and easy fix to just circumcise under the first armor plate to get a more traditional robot codpiece.

I think the piece between the legs is an anime nod, or rather a video game nod. If you've played Zone of the Enders you know about the 'cockpit' they all literally have.

The Gecko does not, currently, have an ejection system.

I think it might get one, they're not beyond revising profiles in between books.
I think the original "vision" for the Gecko was that it would be a small powered exoskeleton closer to the Iguana Operator than the monster it looks like we are getting.

The big TAGs tend to attract my attention as a fan of shooty medium sized robot combat (see my sig). I'm likely in a small minority but the recent and popular releases of Scarface and the Anaconda are two examples. Both were modelled with close combat weapons in a decidely not shooting pose which detracts from my interest in them significantly. At least the anaconda has the gun in hand whereas scarface is trying to cut you instead of shooting with the pair of big honkin' guns on his back. It reminds me of the drive me closer! 40k leman russ commissar pic. Additionally, I said surprised above because I simply didn't notice the minime arms in the art for both TAGs (obviously my own fault there) and I really don't like them. In the end, they're just style preference. The concept art is incredibly impressive but the posing of the models has let me down in the past. YMMV. I'm fine though with the Iguana pose though and I do hope that at least one of two (assuming a two pack) poses of tye gecko looks like he can actually fire a weapon. I'd still likely have to fix the minime arms though if they presumably go through.

You know what, I liked the Iguana before, but I think I actually like its ejected pilot more. That is just a damn cool looking figure. Nomads need more heavy infantry if they're goign to look like that.

And I really want to see how this new Mormaer is going to turn out. If he's got a decent pose, I might actually be interested in getting some Ariadne figures beyond just the one or two heavy infantry guys.

If you do decide to take the plunge I hope you enjoy the game! It can be a lot of fun! TAGs are pretty awesome even if they do eat up a lot of your points.

That codpiece is... peculiar, but the model is awesome. I love it when they actually pose a TAG somewhat sensibly (and with gun in hand, too!)

Oh yesh! Iggy is making her sisters, Szally and Lizzy, look seriously ugly now. I must have her! And now I've just realised that the Gecko is going to break the female pet name trend of the Reptile series. Even Anny works. I swear Corvus have designed the Gecko to make me want it really badly but irk me in as many ways as possible.

I've had similar thoughts to Kan on the future of the Gecko. I think something got lost in translation, not literally, at some point and I vaguely foresee them making some changes to the rules after the miniature is released. I've secretly wished they'd actually make them linkable to make up for the undesirable/unexpected size. That's a pretty wacky idea though and I expect them to do something more in line with Kan's suggestion. Plus if they did do it I'd probably wet myself in excitement.

Overall I think I'm obsessing over the Gecko a bit much so I'll just drop it now. Any future posters of 'hilarious' pet Geckos will be punished though.

Corvus Belli delivers an excellent model once again. Not big news at all.
The INFINITY range is incredible. This Iguana? is just september.

Some people is like... surprised by this miniature, I just don't know why...
I've been following every release from this company for so many years now... they are constantly releasing excellent models, month after month.
they are from Spain but their stuff is world class.

You can take a Mobile brigada link team in coegidor sectorial, they are about that.

Iguana looks spectacular, I particularly love the helmets now that they are painted.

OK, so I've been slowly coming around to Infinity - following releases, researching rules, critiquing miniatures old and new... It's been about six months now and I've been on and off the fence with the game the entire time: I love most of the minis, the rules seem tight, the scope of the game is perfect at 10ish men per side... But I'm not an anime fan and that aesthetic is a turn-off, I've already got a handful of new games I'm lining up...

But holy ****, that mini just sealed the deal. I wasn't even thinking Nomads originally, but the Iguana, along with the Gecko and new Corregidor box are too freakin' awesome to turn down.

I'ts funny, I was like that as well. I went with Haqqislam because they seemed the least anime inspired, just low-ish tech soldiers with some neat tricks.

But the aesthetic really grows on you, and now I'm looking at basing a Bakunin force around the Reverend Moreasses, Daktari catgirl the the hilariously anime Moderator with lollipop.
