I have recently arrived at Ft Campbell KY(TN) and am hoping for get some games in. Fizzics has told me about a group in Nashville, but being married with 3 kids, driving about an hour for a game is a little too much to ask the family. Hoping for find some people on/around base for some friendly games.

That's no good that you haven't found a spot yet.

Try this...

mostly east TN people... but it will give you a more local lead.

Good Luck!

Hey Salted Diamond, I don't know if the Gamer's Guild is open right now, but it's in the little downtown area (go up the hill past Riverside Drive) just past Blackhorse Pub, and the Court House. A little past it should be a spot where you either have to turn left or you have to go straight. Turn left and right past the CDE building (on the right side) should be a little shopping center with a Dollar Store. Right next to it should be Gamer's Guild. Next to that, there is a gaming group (might be on tnwargamers.com/forums) right outside of Clarksville in Ashland City (I think). Other than that, Nashville and just past it was another place that held tournaments with some frequency, though I can't remember the name of that town. Began with an M I think.

@busby: According to their web site "Gamer's Guild is now primarily an Online Store until a new location is acquired." I am still going to try and drive by to check for sure. Still looking for people to play. Any contacts would be great if anyone is known.

I have just recently (last week) found Rick's. It is pretty nice with a small but growing 40K base. Happy to finally be able to get some games in.

I will be arriving in that area within the next couple months (moving from Germany)

what size of games and whatnot are the "norm" around clarksville? (I am in a similar boat to Salted Diamond, wife and kids prevent any real travel for games, though once it arrives, I have my own 8x4 table)

go to Frontline Games in clarksville. DO NOT go to Ricks Cards. Frontline is better and has more space.

Well, glad to hear there are options. I'm sure I'll check both places out.

most of the 40k players have migrated to Frontline Games. lots of the table top gamers now are like Flames of War and some X-Wing game.

there also perks to going to frontline besides it being extremely big with 6 tables in the back and lots of terrain.

There's a cafe (yes a frickin' cafe) INSIDE the store that serves hotdogs, panini's, and soup all day and night, it's open VERY late and opens VERY early lol, and of course there's and endless amount of drinks there too.

Theres the info in case you get curious to go and visit. I play Warmachine quite often there, but I used to play 40k and Magic a lot. Been around Campbell for 3 years...by far the best shop in Clarksville...and...it's brand new!

I was stationed there, Ragnarspaz is a very good friend of mine, shoot him a PM, he is still in the area, and you guys could even get in a game.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The Game Keep in Nashville, I believe there is a GW store in the Cool Springs Mall area.

Loads and loads of gamers there.

Yeah, I've been here for going on 2 years, and have also stopped going to Rick's

I don't actually game at Frontline, but I have already bought a bunch of paints, etc. from them. From what I saw on the store just yesterday, they have a lot more stock than what you see, as they are still in the process of setting some things up, but they do have a bunch of sheets near the counter as they are setting up at least a Warma/Hordes league at the moment.

The opening of Frontline was kind of a kick in the butt for Rick's to shape up. I prefer frontline, but it seems like a lot of people still go to Rick's. I need to build my own table and just start playing at home.

I don't play the current edition of 40k, but still have my 5th ed. stuff, as well as the beginnings of a Mercs warband for Warmachine.

If you still played 5th I'd definitely be interested (I also have my own table/some terrain, however small terrors prevent my house from being in a state where I let too many folks in, lol)

As the proud owner of two small terrors of my own I understand completely.

Well made my first visit to Clarksville today, but didn't hit either store up. I'll be permanently in the area come the 19th.

I'm in the area now. I popped into Frontline last night. Nice open store, but they certainly seem to treat miniature gaming as a secondary. Card games are definitely their thing there.

It's a LOT closer to my home then Ricks is though, so I'm going to see about getting a league night thing going there. Some type of organized play that can help get some interest going. They have a ton of wasted floor space in that store that they could stock a lot more stuff on, and if we can get more players in there, maybe they will.

Having been in there, they are still working on their setup as they bring in more stock and whatnot. So yeah, right now it looks like miniatures are secondary, but having talked to the guys who work there, it's not like that at all. It's just that things like card and board games require less setup so gets the storefront going a bit quicker. I know before I left they were working on starting some Warmachine and other mini games type leagues.

The clerk yesterday said there was nothing organized, and gave me no indication they were planning on doing it, other then the occasional tourney.

The terrain selection was a bit limited, as well, but maybe I'm just spoiled. My last store was definitely the best I've ever seen so far, so the bar for me may have been set a bit high.
