See that looks interesting. This is just stupid teenagers in a high school. It is not the violence. It is the entire premise of the show that is wrong. I can deal with violence.
And OH I FORGOT SCAR!

Canon Alucard doesn't count, since being everything a proper man's man should be trying not to be is his style
Alucard got me a date...I'm totally serious...
and for the school days argument... still think gang rape and child murder is worse
or how bout Genocyber where it's child murder/abuse and child molestation
(both of course have violence)
seriously the 2000's got nothing on 90s anime when it comes to dark tones.

Make Dolls Great Again
Clover/Trump 2016
For the United Shelves of America!
Shame on you (though the series gets so draggy between Episodes 4 and 10). And Alucard is the first person to point out there's no such thing as immortality Just effective unkillability

No its more of it had no plot line. No plot to follow it was basically the battle of london and thats about it. I lost interest pretty quickly as the main character was basically unkillable.
Alucard was not interesting to me.
He was a bland immortal character. Oh look a badass. Okay does he have any character? No. Then no he's not a good character or a badass.

That joke is way funnier if you were in with the fandom when the Manga was coming out and got to see all the naysays gak themselves 2 years later when Girlucard appeared /Hipstering

You utterly missed the point of the story then (and didn't see the ending )
Spoiler:
The point of Hellsing, at least as it relates to being a character piece about Alucard himself, is that Alucard desperately wants to die a worthy death, but has been unable to find any man able to kill him. Van Hellsing came the closest, but rather than kill him Hellsing enslaved Alucard, a fate he accepts to the extent that he's still searching for a means to his own demise. He can be killed, as his regeneration is simply supercharged by the sheer number of lives he's consumed. Anderson near the end comes close to doing him in.
Alucard turned out in the end to be much deeper and harder to understand than most fans expected when the series began.
As a larger narrative, Hellsing is about monsters and the men (or children) who become monsters.
And for a cluster feth, spoilers in a spoiler!
At the end of Hellsing, the Major reveals his entire plot all along was simply devised to death Alucard, a goal he seemingly achieves via Schrodinger (the kat kid). Shrodinger's power is reality negation, but for it to work he has to be able to perceive himself in space time. By killing himself and being absorbed into Alucard, he ceases to exist, and by extension Alucard ceases to exist.
At least until 40 years later when Alucard shows back up apparently having purged himself of every soul except Shrodinger's, and having Shrodinger's powers, which can be taken has him getting more brokenly OP or as a power down grade based on how you see things XD

So they basically took the plot of the Immortal O.o
Where a Man turned Demon wants to die but he can't unless he proves himself and dies in glorious battle?
Where a Man turned Demon wants to die but he can't unless he proves himself and dies in glorious battle?
The series leaves a great deal of ambiguity (it is literally, littered in so many allusions, analogies, and references, that we could have an entire thread about listing them and pointing them out, and we'd probably never find them all. Seriously). But Alucard seemingly has embraced being a monster, even though he loathes what he's become. Hence the series' tag line "The Bird of Hermes is my name, eating my wings to make me tame." His desire to die at the hands of a 'man' seemingly steams from this. He's a monster, and monsters are killed by men.

Very Japanese way of living really.
Reminds me of the Immortal Sword manga. Where a man must kill a thousand men.
Or when in full metal alchemist Honheim main wish is to die.
Japan really likes to play with that idea. The West really doesn't have too many stories about immortality say for a few.
Blade of the Immortal is EXACTLY like Hellsing. Both are interesting, but I lean towards blade of the immortal because one is still human and is trying to make up for his sins.

Rainbow Dash wrote: I ought to watch Shuffle! again, the only harem anime that didn't make me want to die
I've watched only two harem animes. HighSchool DXD because someone promised me it got better. (It was like two steps away from being a hentai)
And School Days.
School Days I think it's the most real of them all, really. I suppose that's what would happen if someone attempted an "Harem" in RL.

What get beheaded and your pregenant women you have been sleeping with is stabbed and killed? Even though the dialgoue is horrible and the animation was the only good thing about it?
I am pretty sure if it was RL it would of been "Hey it isn't working out. Wanna break up?" "Okay...." Goes off and porks the other girl he liked.
That is literally all that should of happened. Not this BS with sleeping with half the high school and the main girl hearing about it, and being told this. TO HER FACE. Yeah she went insane because of it. It is not brillant it is cliched and stupid.
And a waste of valuable time.

I actually feel ill at how many people died within the last 2 or 3 episodes. Holy were some of them brutal. Never expected Reiko to be the extra though, was an interesting twist to it all.
When the rich rage war it's the poor who die
Armies I have: Chaos Space Marines, Tau, Necrons, High Elves
Armies I want:Lizardmen, Warriors Of Chaos, Dark Eldar
Armies I may get: Dark Angels, Tomb Kings, Vampire Counts
