My big pick is probably KanColle: I don't play the game, but the Touhou music channels I use on youtube occasionally upload KanColle arranges and I have been slowly learning about the characters and universe. The "dark girls" look far more interesting IMO.
Plus, it's the big rival to Touhou when it comes to hentai, so it's got my respect

Which arc was that? The one with the Excalibur quest thing? That was sort of a little filler arc thing, really. Season II basically had one half and two quarter arcs in it, instead of the two half-arcs season one had.

There's a Magical Boy anime coming out. Not a Magic Knight anime, not a Magical Girl anime. A Magical Boy anime. That's either going to be hilarious, awesome, or frightening.
Similarly the anti-hero school could be fun.
And KanKolle seems like that one, what was it, Arpeggio of Blue Steel thing (with the Warship AI-tans) taken to its logical extremes. Is that a common thing over there, giving warships cutesy girl personas?
Some interesting stuff.
And I really need to finish Aldnoa Zero.

Spice and Wolf is a great story driven show. And one of the best female characters in anime.

And by the way there is a movie, but I am waiting for the dub, because I can't stand the japanese voice actors for everyone. I just can't.

I can't seem to play KanColle as a game so gimme the anime! I want cute warship girls dammnit.
Hagure Yuusha no Estetica is the other anime I've been watching. A refreshingly proactive main and some kinda alright character design pushes this generic ecchi piece to a slightly higher grade... but it's still what it is.

Fun fact: this time around it's the opposite. They are normal girls that are "weaponized". So you get cute results like the "Yamato" .
They seem to be pretty well thought too, here's some Trivia about the Yamato girl:
Trivia about Yamato: Yamato's remodel art features a 'Hirihoukenten (非理法権天)' kneesock (originally a flag as you can see in the picture). It reflects one of the old philosophy in feudal Japan where foolishness (非) is not above sensibility (理), sensibility is not above law (法), law is not above authority (権), and authority is not above divinity (天). A slogan adopted by the Imperial Japanese navy, this flag was hung on Yamato on her final voyage towards Okinawa.

So, I've exhausted my queue. Looking to take suggestions. If anyone knows good stuff that fits the guidelines:
Stuff I want:
* Fewer than 100 episodes long. 1-2 seasons worth would be ideal, but I'm not entirely opposed to something slightly shorter or longer.
* Consistently delivers on the warm-fuzzies and/or character drama.
* Love 
* Character Growth.
Stuff I don't want:
* Fanservice. No bouncing boobies, no panty shots, no lingering butt shots. This is a strict requirement as. A: I'll be watching in a public space. B: It generally annoys me.
* Tragic twists or last minute feel-bads.
* Episodic shows or gag comedies.
* Creepy incensty or under-agey feeling stuff.
