I agree that Anvil is handling these upcoming releases in a very careful, considerate and conscientious manner.
If there were any concerns regarding other, upcoming kits or components following the release, you could also show off renders on the site with approximate release dates as well. So people who want torso A with head B and weapon A could buy sooner, while others could make an informed decision to hold off for head E's release in 4 or 6 or 8 weeks. That way no-one buys and then feels annoyed because they would have preferred the other head/torso/pants/etc.

Hey all,
I'm frantically working as fast as possible to get the leg poses complete and printed today and tomorrow, so we can launch the range on Thursday evening!
Thanks for the positive feedback regarding the launch plans - I want to sell as much as possible of course, but that's best achieved by making sure people get what they want.
When the launch goes up, Ill have a list of "upcoming" parts on the page, with estimated arrival dates.
@Sockwithaticket - born in Scotland.. but raised almost entirely in the south.
@Azazelex - honestly.. by the time I've got renders to show off, the stuff is almost ready to launch anyway - the turn around from a complete CAD model to having it ready to sell is as little as a couple of days, that's the advantage of having the entire production process in house!
I'll be putting up written descriptions of plans for future releases, in the rough order and time scale I intend (subject to change of course).
Some stuff depends on sales - for example Id like to do Dress uniform legs, but the range in general would have to be selling rather large quantities before more specialist stuff like that becomes viable.
@RiTides- was it you who requested some spare hands on the sprues? Really good suggestion!
Here are Armoured Rifle arms Sprues one and two - Ten unique arm poses, plus a fair few extra hands for conversions (including a left hand holding a foregrip).

Wow, that sprue looks excellent! I don't think I can take credit for the suggestion, but it was a very good one
Only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the pointing fingers (there's a meme for chaos dwarf players that all of our characters are pointing ) but since they are separate and optional that's no problem. Looks like there's two spare hands in other poses too, if I'm seeing that right.

Is that a rifle strap on arms "F"? It looks like you've designed the guns to slot into the hands. That's a really nice touch.

Thanks guys,
@RiTides - Yeah Pointing figures are cool, but also in resin very prone to snapping, hence they are optional parts for people not planning to game with the figures.
Other hands including a foregrip, two x holding a knife and a right handed grenade.
@Barzam - Yes, and you have provided the first example of why I put letters on the arms, much easier to describe a particular set!
The strap connection fits on the RIS rail on all the guns.
Yes, the guns have a tab which locates in the hand, makes lining them up slightly easier.

I totally missed the knife hands! Love it
Is the 1mm magnet hole on these arms, since I think this would be the main point where guns are swapped out?

@RiTides - I figured occasionally they might need a knife for stealth killing/opening ration packs.. Left and Right, downward grip (works better with the arm poses available).
No magnets on these arms - these are for the various rifles/SMGs which are modular but not designed to be swapped out.
The special weapons will have their own arms with the power feed and larger stock/lower grip integrated with the right arm.

Ah that makes sense - and yeah, I can't imagine 99% of people will want to swap anything around other than the special weapons.

With your current shell casings, pistol grip hands and weapon attachments, would you have any interest in adding weapon barrels to your range? Drilling barrels is something I abhor because I can never get it perfect, and anything but perfect just looks wrong. A bunch of resin muzzles in a few different sizes would be perfect.
The Afterlife stuff looks great. It's really nice to see how Anvil has progressed over the years, really coming into their own. I'm pleasantly surprised with the aesthetic of Afterlife.

These look great! Hmm.... so when are we likely to see the concepts for wave 2? Because I am particularly excited by the concept of void armour, and I also can't wait to see the heavily armoured torso option in this wave that would work with the void helmet Anvil mentioned for wave 2.

Most AI barrels are cast "drilled". Could still be good for versatility though.

Morning all,
We've got a busy day ahead prepping for the launch tonight, 30+ new products, our biggest single product launch (excluding Kickstarter stuff) since 2013's Black Ops!
@Frozen Ocean - Separate weapon barrels?
Its a possibility, the problem is always going to be that they are small parts with a small contact area, on an exposed part of a model, so used in gaming models they will be very prone to snapping off.
If you carefully stick the point of a modelling scalpel right in the center of the gun barrel, and then twist it round a few times, you get a tiny pock mark which keeps the tip of the drill bit dead center. You may already be doing something similar, but just something I do when I want an accurate hole.
@Mlaw- Ill also be on Dakka at the same time, so lively discussion on here very welcome as well!
@Azazelx - The price?
We are still finalising it, but provisionally £28 for a set of ten "build your own" with lower prices for 2, 3+ of the same kit. They will be competitive with similar kits on the market and a whole lot cheaper than resin from a certain larger company.
We will also be doing some "conversion kits" with discounts on the separate bits sprue prices (which will also be highly competitive with rival products).
@Haigus.
My concept sketches are frankly, an embarrassment to the gaming industry, so I don't usually post them.. here is the void/hazardous environment sketch so you can see why...

Hah, dont stress the sketch anvil, I do concept art as well and as long as you get the idea that's all that matters! Speaking of which I'm really loving the way you're going with this sketch, I'm always a fan of anything that has sort of knightly feel to it!

Would you consider doing an alternate helmet, more akin to the diving suit-esque helmet of other "Solar System Soldiers" that another company may or may not already produce?

high praise Lockark! - I think if I took my time and used pencil/erasers, I could do much better concepts, but its good enough for my design purposes, The refinement and detailing I usually do at the CAD stage once the base shapes are blocked in.
@Ir0njack - Glad you like it. Ill actually be toning down the knightly elements of this design, but making a new torso (and possibly helmet style) to match the gothic style shoulder pads in the launch preview image.
@MacMuckles.
This head, torso and weapon set will be a steampunk/sci-fi hazardous environment suit, so may be suitable as a stand in for Solar Auxilia, but I don't plan on making the design any more similar. Even if copying was entirely legal, I think I can design a better looking product!

I do, I just can never get it "perfect", and anything but just looks bad to me (especially on double-barreled things like storm bolters, or when put next to models whose barrels are hollow by design as with yours and Forge World's). I thought of using styrene tube, but something with a bit more texture (in other words, pre-made barrels) would look a lot better. Anvil just came to mind because of all the other little fiddly bits you do. You're right about the issues, though I'm not sure what can be done about it other than having a solid back for pinning.

Seriously, everything looks great and this is perhaps the most hyped I've been for a release in ages (trumped only by thrice announcing their first UK club show since 2012 last week). Will finally grab some exo lords hand sprue too.
