Safe to say we are busy in the studio today!

Chaz is doing product photos, Adam is building example miniatures and I'm writing product descriptions..

Getting there!

Nostrodamus - This is a direct release, you can straight up buy them when they're revealed later today!

With more to come soon which will be previewed, so you can pick the best combination you like.

Thanks for the non-snarky response RiTides. The tone suggested kickstarter to me, but obviously I misinterpreted.

Apologies if I offended you Nostrodamus - Easy to misunderstand over the internet, I thought your original question was intended as a joke (as we've done all our other major releases in the past few years through early birds).

No problem! You guys must be very busy right now and you're probably juggling 100 things at once so I can understand

I'm kinda new to your company so I'm unfamiliar with your previous stuff, but the regiments range caught my interest so I didn't want to miss out

Ooh I'm liking those concepts! I agree they are fine to show off, and also see the Blanche correlation. Your handwriting on the other hand... (not that I am one to talk, my handwriting looks like a spider fell in ink and then had a seizure on the page...) You also drew all that whilst in a car though, which is impressive.

Well, these days to get folks' attention away from KS's you really have to make a splash with a release . I'd really love if more companies could hype up releases but not have to actually go to Kickstarter - Osprey does this a lot with Frostgrave (even calling their orders "Nickstarters")!

Looking forward to the reveal later today

I see the custom squad builder is up, but I don't see where it tells me how many miniatures "a squad" is. I assume 10?

well a custom squad is £27

6 heads is £3
5 torsos is £3
5 arms is £3.50
5 legs is £5
6 weapons is £3

that's £17.50 for a set, or £35 for 10, so yeah I think the custom squad would be 10 guys with an £8 discount

Quite correct!

And if you have multiple squads in one order, the price is even lower.

do those multiple squads have to have the same configuration, or is the price just for "Multiple custom regiments squads"?

Will the discounted price for multiple squads be a permanent offer? Or is it limited time?

Just a suggestion but you might consider adding visual guides to the components in the custom squad builder as part of the slide show. It's a little annoying to flip back and forth.
EDIT: Also, the Fatigue Legs 1 image that loads is the same as the Armored Legs.. Fatigues 2 legs looks like fatigue legs so I assume it's the Fatigue 1 leg entry with the wrong image.

Ok Live Q&A - Let's go.

@Charax - the squads can have different configurations, currently, we didnt intend it, but it's an option for now!

@Nostrodamus - we may of course change pricing structure in future, but it's not a "launch only" offer. There is no need to rush!

@Mlaw - Yes, totally agree and that is something we will implement as soon as we can.

Oops, we will get that image changed over.

Any other questions guys, about anything regiments related - fire away!

Is the anti-materiel rifle compatible with the regiments arm sets?

definately not! Much too large, however I will be releasing a new Regiments sniper rifle, with a very similar style, in Wave 2 in late June.

So, a little chunkier than Afterlife, but it looks like they should still be able to mix in fairly well. Now I really want to see how well the parts can be mixed together. What happened to the Afterlife shoulder pads though? I'm not seeing them in either their own section or the Regiments section.

Will it be possible to have specialist weaponry without any hoses or backpack attachments? If not, could we see some more compact versions of the specialist weapons in the future that don't require specific torsos or arms to use? Something like the Doom 3 or Doom 2016 plasma rifles would be cool to arm a squad with. Basically, what I'm asking for would be a plasma SMG.

Q1 - Any chance for versions of what you've just released to support crew-served (heavy) weapons or with missile launchers? Same for drivers/passengers (seated) and potential mounted style poses for motorcycles?

Q2 - Any plans for civilian type components that are compatible with the Regiments range to allow for more irregular/resistance type troops.. Like a hoodie or baggy jeans.
Homefront:The Revolution has the sort of thing I'm talking about. EDIT: But it also applies to post apoc or zombie survivors etc.

Q3 - At a glance it appears the weapons are a mix of previous models from your existing lines and some legs that look like Afterlife. Are these rescaled or is there a mix of scales in the regiment line currently? I think you mentioned it but I might be mistaken.

Very cool! I'm a little overwhelmed, though, need to go and look at all my choices

It seems clearest when I'm looking at the pre-selected page:

http://anvilindustry.co.uk/Regiments/regiments-full-squads

(Although the pictures only show 5 models, not 10 - maybe just duplicate the picture so it shows 10?)

When I see all the individual options my mind explodes, need to look through thoroughly to pick

Barzam - quite a few of the afterlife legs work ok with the regiments torsos, so long as you dont add shoulder pads.

Yes they are chunkier, but if you use a force of just regiments troops and afterlife robots/vehicles, there will be no scale problems.

Afterlife shoulder pads may at some point be remolded and released as part of the regiments range.

The first lot of special weapons will only work with a hose/power pack, but rifle sized versions are certainly an option at some point.

@M Law.

1. Heavy weapons crew set certainly planned, wit hmore kneeling legs and specialist arms. Missile launchers also planned.
Drivers/mounted - not any time soon.

2. Yes we will be releasing a "contractors" set for lightly armed civilian troops/militia.
Later down the line I plan a full range of evil traitor/renenage militia parts, which will work as irregular types as well with the right choice of parts.

3. We have some old "regiments" weapons which are left rfrom the first attempt at the regimetns launch, which didnt get very far.
Apart from the legacy guns (which are pretty much still compatible with the new stuff) all the new parts are new and the same scale, (although there are some similarities between the armoured parts and the republic grenandiers)

The regiments range is tagged, so you can look through the whole range of options like this

OK, Initial thoughts:

What I like:
- The concept as a whole! Mad Robot Miniatures does something similar but their style doesnt appeal to me
- The armoured choices look amazing, I tried to make carapace armoured guardsmen years ago and this is how I wished they'd looked
- The spares! extra magazines, 6 heads per sprue in case there's one you don't like, amazing level of consideration
- The price point. It's 1/3 more than the cost of a Cadian box for 10 but you can customise everything! 5 for £17.50, 10 for £27, 20 for 50, 30 for £69...nice scaling, and reasonable for small or large buys.
- The conversion set, great idea!

What I don't like:
- The launch range: It was a perfect opportunity to show off the scope of the options that would be available, but all the options are pretty much modern day/near future themed, carrying ranged weapons - it's a little samey to be honest, I'll probably need to wait for more options to appear (regiment melee arms, perhaps? some more of your existing weapons converted to be regiments-compatible?)

Thanks for your feedback Charax,

I certainly tried to make the parts as useable as possible, extras on the sprues dont cost us anything in production so why not..

Regarding the limited range pf the initial release, I this was delierate - I wanted to keep to a limited theme for wave one to keep it coherent, rather than risk a lot of very differrent styles, none of which really work together.

Now that the basic parts are in place, we can add new torsos/heads and instantly create new stlyes.

We also plan new arms and legs of course.

As tempting as these are, I think I'll be holding off to see what the trench fighters and gothic stuff looks like first. That may suit my need better.

Love the range though, amazing!

Rifle type specialist weapons sound good to me. How about short or rolled sleeve arms? Ballcap heads with goggles and headsets?

Both, as part of our "contractors" range, in either late June or the July wave.

Charax - Ah, I couldn't quite put my finger on it but the "modern day / near future themed" is I think what was in the back of my mind, too. It totally makes sense to go for those first, and then expand, but I think for my (admittedly grimdark ) uses, a less-present-day look would fit in best.

Still absorbing all the offerings though and know I'm going to be ordering - the question is just what and when

Hopefully the contractors will include hoodies and jeans. I know it's probably more like Blackwater style guys or field operative CIA but I think the Warlord Survivors are the only multipart with more of a civilian look right now, while contractor types are a tad more common (not by much though).

I looked back over the release after taking some time and realized I've been putting of an Afterlife order of things I really want. That made me wonder if there are plans for any sort of vehicles in the remainder of 2016.
