Well, that's the opposite of what I'm looking for (no jeans or hoodies in 40k!) but I can definitely see the appeal for other systems

Gah, so tempted, those medium armored guys would be great for IG Veterans...

Still absorbing all the offerings though and know I'm going to be ordering - the question is just what and when

Hard Sci-Fi is another pop-culture term for it. Adhering to things that could likely be designed given time and resources etc etc..
I'll be honest, I'm really glad they went this way first. With so much to choose from for Grimdark, having the ability to expand the more video-game looking figures presents opportunities that the Grimdark niche really doesn't explore. If it were to lean slightly more towards Shadowrun (cyberpunk) I would likely lose it and secretly run up the old credit card.

Actually.. for Grimdark.. isn't that (for humans) just either Colonial Marines from Aliens, Starship Troopers Mobile Infantry, 80s action movie, or WWII guys? I think you could probably get there pretty easily from this release using Fatigue Arms + Legs, Medium Armor, and I dunno.. I think the heads are the most modern thing since most of those options seem rooted in current designs or more video game looking aesthetics.

Yeah, I agree - it's mostly the heads that are modern-style, I can totally work with the rest! The previewed heads I think just ended up being one in each set of 6, but a lot of the goggles-type heads look present day. Still totally awesome and I'm mixing and matching them in my mind as we speak

Morning all,

Wow yesterday was busy! A little behind schedule but the full Regiments range is now available, we will start shipping from next week!

You can check out the range guide here -

http://anvilindustry.co.uk/Regiments/Regiments-Range-Guide

All the products are available separately and also in a range of pre-designed and custom kits and conversion packs!

Feedback and suggestions encouraged, I've got quite a lot already planned, but more ideas are always good.

@Mlaw - I don't plan hoodies/jeans at the moment I'm afraid, lots of other parts which are higher priority will keep me busy for some time. I will keep in mind the option to do a limited selection of civilian parts at some point.

What's most likely is that for more obscure/unusual items such as civilian clothing, we will release sets of just 5 poses of each leg and arm style, less variety, but it means its more likely we can release them at all (less posing work and smaller molds needed)

I am planning to complete the TAIPAN ACP in 2016, hopefully over summer, but its unlikely any more vehicles will get done.

@Nostrodamus - I'm glad you like the range! I'm afraid I cant help much with wait/don't wait - though the "Planned future releases" part of the Range Guide has details of plans between now and end of August, and if you want more information on upcoming parts I'm happy to advise!

@RiTides -

Lots more heads planned, a full range of various styles of unhelmeted heads, and plenty more grim/WW1 style helmets to come, as well as some more futuristic designs - Heads are one of the easiest things to design and print as the parts/sprues are so small, so lots of options is easy.

@Javin - Special weapons, and some more Small Arms, will be available in Wave 2 - Aiming for late June, not sure exactly when as for part of June we are closed for a full upgrade of our manufacturing facility.

@Anvil, do you have any plans to make any Bren, or sten guns to go with the WW2 style second wave? Or any other famous guns from that period? I'd love to see Bren guns or MP40s

Evening all!

@Bull0 - Thanks very much!

@Barzam - I'm also curious! people are very welcome to post up photos in this thread, of regiments stuff kit bashed with other companies products.

@sierra1247 - yes actually I do! A few people have asked about the Bren gun so its likely to appear>
Sten/MP40 is a little more tricky as it would require new arms, or a significant conversion by the customer.

@Dysartes - Charlie will be back at work on tuesday and can sort it out, Im afraid I dont know how to reactive it.

Another question about the future range: are you going to have arms with rifle grip poses rather than pistol grips?

Or maybe just a set of hands?

Its a possibility we have considered, but its not an immediate priority - the reason being having a rifle grip changes the design of the weapon quite significantly, it would be almost impossible to get it to work with the existing weapons (designed for pistol grips) convincingly. I would probably do arms which are a one piece cast with the weapon, which defeats the "modular" part of hte desing.

The most likely outcome is that for the Trench Raider / WW1 types, we will do fatigue arms with gloves, holding a "rifle" type small arm.

At the moment Im working on special weapon, sniper rifles, shotguns, and possibly command squad bits!

Rifle grip shotguns and sniper rifles could be cool. You could do some ergonomic gripped guns like the kind Masamune Shirow designs.

Any time anyone can have a reason to use Shirow inspired anything I'm all for it!
Hell, I'd buy a Shirow toilet seat though I'm afraid it would require you to lean forward to get on..

Nice, digging the regiments thing you guys have made. Mad Robot has a similar system and it works excellent, so I bet this will work well for you too.

Don't know why but I've never really checked out your stuff till now. There's some really cool bits there. Those berets with the gasmasks in particular look awesome, someday I'll have to pick some of those up.

Morning all,

We are off in the van this evening to the UK GAMES EXPO at the Birmingham National Exhibition Center, this weekend 3rd to 5th of June!

Its out first time attending this show, and we will be launching the Afterlife Mini Rulebook, which is available now on our website!

Printed Rulebook!

@Barzam - organically designed weapons like that will have to feature in future Afterlife factions, they are not suited to the regiments range due to the need to keep all weapons compatible with all arms.

@MrMoustaffa - Yeah we were impressed with Mad Robots system and ours is very similar! I've sent some parts to Mad Robot to check, but I think parts from the two ranges should be fairly interchangeable.

@Sockwithaticket - Very nice! future police/internal security vibe.. The off white armour looks really good, whats the recipe?

I'm okay with this. Maybe something CRANE standard infantry would use?

How long will the rulebook offer be in place for the Afterlife backers? I'd like to make an order, but I want to wait until the SMG and contractor bits are available.

RiTides 0- Thank you, glad you like it.

Joel - cheers, mate. That's exactly what I was going for. The armour is based with Vallejo Model Coour Basalt Grey, mainly Vallejo Game Colour Cold Grey and highlighted with VGC Ghosty Grey.

Bull0 - You got enough there?

Had to make the most of that multi-buy discount! Got my first infantry squad finished. I plan to do a couple of squads like this, a squad of grenadiers in the heavy armour, and then some heavy support squads, command squad etc in fatigues. I'm using the militia army list from horus heresy V. It's really nice having alternative models for heresy-era imperial army, it would've been lame using Cadians or whatever.

Finally found a use for your excellent servo-arm set!

My only quibble is that there are six attachment points spread across the two backpacks, but only five bits to put in there, so I had to.. improvise with one of the holes.

New Anvil Regiments range... MIND BLOWN

Holy feth, i think i need one of every product on offer, maybe even two!

The level of detail looks fantastic, well done! And the prices look fantastic too, so again, well done Anvil!

I've been looking for decent legs with knee pads for ages so expect an order of them sometime soon.

I really look forward to seeing what's coming up in the subsequent waves (Forward, you dogs!), please keep on doing what you do!
