Thanks all!

@Mlaw - Two parts, legs and torso. The break down of parts for the Trench fighters will be the same as (and interchangeable with) the other regiments parts, with the exception of the arms, which have to be one piece with the gun because Im doing proper rifle stocks.

If I may give abit of 2 cents.... The Skull Mask here looks more Halloween Decoration then scary mask. You want something more like a stylised skull like the punisher logo, Death jester mask or the skull masks the DKoK grenadiers wear. Maby even consider doing away with the lower jaw details, in favour of tieing in more gasmask/helmet details to make it look more clearly like a mask.

The Bone Texture to the mask also doesn't make any sense, were are they finding giant human skulls they can put their own head inside of and turn into gas masks? Make the skull look more like a mask.

I feel this would give a much more aggressive look.

Very good points Lockark,

The exaggerated bone style sculpting would have virtually disappeared at 28mm scale but I agree more mask like would be better.

Hows this for a second go? I've hardened up all the edges, made the upper skull bit larger, removed the lower jaw, and added an RPG-7.. just because..

While I would say that is certainly an improvement, the removal of the lower jaw gives a bit of a bucktooth impression that detracts from the overall menace of the mask. I do really like the eyes on the new mask though

Look great and I'm very excited about these trench fighters. Any hints on the new weapons?

Hmm, I am thinking that the skull mask version 2, whilst definitely an improvement, could perhaps benefit from having the area above the teeth and perhaps also the teeth elongated below the nose to make the whole mask have a more elongated and slightly inhuman look. It would probably make it look less buck-toothed too.

This was what I was thinking also.

On another note, I got my order Today and started bashing out some Infantry with the GW kits. Overall I love how these are coming out and the quality is great. The only thing to note when useing with the GW kits is that when you line the torsos up are the front their is a wired overhang in the back. TBH I blame this more on the wonky-ness of the cadians who are a very old kit from GW. Luckily the webbing bits you get in the kit are perfect for covering this gap.

Once I do my next order I plan on picking up some void torsos to do some test fits with the new plastic storm troopers.

I'd say that the mask needs something on the bottom to balance out the slight "overbite" look that the lack of a lower jaw causes. Perhaps some kind of mechanical-looking chin thing? Or a rebreather?

I like the new head releases- the SAS gasmask heads especially give me some good conversion ideas, like a detachment of Spec Ops Guardsmen using the D-99 rules from FW...

Thanks for the further feedback and ideas guys!

I'll have another go at the skull mask next week if I get a chance.

@jake1974 - some kind of bolt action rifle styled phase rifle, and a pump action shotgun like an older Remington.

@Lockark - thanks for the photos, great conversions! yeah I think the Cadian legs are a little less round and uniform than regiments parts, you've done a nice job though!

Bolt-action phase rifle? Sweet! What about a crank/wind up version, like the laser musket in Fallout 4?

I'm intrigued to see what the medieval guys will look like with trencher legs and a bolt-action phase rifle...

I like this idea! Awesome most likely! Could make a "carapace" squad using the Exo-lords Medieval shields as pavises too.

I fancy some close combat trench fighters with the new skull helmets, fatigue arms, legs from the regiments range,the heavy medevial body armour and pump action shotguns.

morning all,

sorry for the radio silence recently. We've been in "stealth mode" recently due to Adam being on holiday, but hes back now and we've actually hired a new caster, this means we should have full stock, including most "out of stock" items, by the end of the month.

Im getting on with the CAD design for the Regiments Trencher release!

Here is something we actually launched a week or so ago,

Xenobane pump action shotguns!

and the Exterminator S.A.W is also available.

This is very exciting!! Still holding out for more Forge Ruins resin bases (because your bases are the best bases - the styles, the weight, the grippy surface on the underside... ) in 25, 32 and 40mm.

I know I know... You need to make new moulds and you have other stuff on the list... but please!!

@Nuclear Mekanik -

At the moment, our most likely course of action with the base range is to withdraw all the remaining bases and replace them with an extended range of base topper styles and sizes (like our current Hyper City bases).

Its possible we will still offer them with the iron power mixed in to give them more weight, but we need to do some R&D.

We would probably do 3-4 different industrial/urban styles plus 2-3 other styles, depending on how much work it is to make each set.

Thank you very much for the feedback!! Is there any reason why you are going for base toppers over complete bases? Just curious really. I prefer whole bases but I guess the toppers are easier to make and potentially cheaper to buy so maybe they will be more popular? I'll go back to gluing washers to the underside of my bases I appreciate your feedback and honesty because I am kind of holding out on a few back burner units I don't have resin bases for currently.

Thanks!!

The changes look good, but put back the lower jaw. What is not working with the full-jawed design is the teeth. They are slightly too big and unnaturally shaped. Slightly smaller (and more naturally shaped) teeth on both the upper and lower jaw ought to fix the odd look of the jaw/teeth.

@Nuclear Mekanik

Base Toppers require less material, easier to make with a good finish and can be a bit more flexible in useage. And yes, likely cheaper!

Plastic bases already have a natural "lip" which holds to terrain better than a smooth resin underside, and our Texture undersides, while very cool, are also a pain to manufacture, which is why most of the bases have disappeared from the store over the past year.

@Shabbadoo-

I totally agree on all points. Whats most likely is Ill either do a full "skull" with lower jaw/teeth, or a more stylised skull (like the Punisher logo), or perhaps both options.. Ill see.

Anyone have suggestions for what to use as passable Grav Cannons? I like the Quake Gun, but there doesn't seem to be a Quake Cannon from Anvil.

Joel, have you guys tried mounting any of your Regiments parts onto the Skitarii Ranger/Vanguard bodies? I'm wondering if the specialist parts in particular would be compatible.

Evening all,

@NewTruthNeoMaxim - We don't currently offer a Quake Cannon, though we may do at some point. Likely not until next summer at the earliest which is when I expect to revamp the entire Exo-Lords range.

@Barzam - No we've not tried it, but Adam is going to bring some in from home and we will try out some conversions!

Work continues, admittedly rather slower than I'd like, on the Trenchers! Attached below the two basic weapon options which will be available (with attached fatigue arms), a Phase rifle based loosely on the M1 Carbine and similar rifles, and a combat shotgun bases on err.. pretty much all combat shotguns ever.

These are work in progress so any feedback very much welcome!

Both guns are looking good. I really like how the shotgun is coming along. It'll be a good weapon for trench raiders.

Both look cool.

My only concern would be that they look fairly similar. In zoomed renders, it’s easy to tell them apart, but at 28mm at arm’s length on the table-top, it might be kinda rough. They could both pass as shotguns.

They look great, I like the phase rifle a lot.

I feel like the slanted las-muzzle on the phase rifle is enough to distinguish it from the shotgun. Las weapons have a very distinctive design in that regard which makes them stand out on the tabletop even if the rest of the weapon does not look much like a las weapon.
