That conversion kit is the best of bunch that I've seen. I guess the only problem is that after you've bought the Taurox and conversion kit and then taken the time to fix GW's horrid design choices, the $66 could have bought you a Valkyrie which looks good right out of the box! That's not a criticism of Victoria Miniatures, just an honest comparison.

I can't honestly fault you there mate. Then again, what does that say about me, who took the time to un-frak the aforementioned design?

Hi, Jake Schneider has been busy again, we are looking at an option for a guard sized bolt pistol. Need some help to choose between option A. and B.
Please let us know what you think.
Thanks, V

Hey! I ,for one, dig the NERFIUS pattern stub pistol from the Hasbro Forgeworld.

I still have one and that thing'll knock your eye out from 20 feet away. Best one they've made in a long time

I'm not on Facebook, so I'll comment here.
It does look like a nerf gun, but it can be salvaged. I'm going to get a bit real-life here, so forgive me in advance for bringing reality into 40k.

First of all, get rid of the slide. it's one of the most notable features of the nerf gun and anyone who has shot one will remember it. Revolvers don't have slides unless they're being pumped full of air to shoot a foam dart. Even the few existing automatic revolvers don't use a slde. This is because there's no need to use the force of firing to pull a new cartridge from a magazine in the handle because a revolver doesn't have one. No automatic revolving bolt pistol would waste the energy throwing back a slide when that energy would be required to rotate the huge boltgun cylinder.

Second, in the version above, and the hasbro version, the hammer is attached to the slide. There's no weapon in the world in which this could work as the hammer connected to the trigger assembly. The separation between slide and frame (which is exagerated here to make it visible in 28mm) makes the hammer-on-slide even more obvious and misplaced. I'd advise getting rid of the hammer altogether, though if you get rid of the grooves and openings that indicate a slide, it would probalby look fine.

All this to say, the Nerf revolver design is an odd choice, but if you're going to go with it, at least Google "Automatic Revolver" to get an idea what the butt of an automatic revolver should look like. At this point, the inclusion or lack of grooved bits on the back of the pistol matters not.

I like the top one, yeah it looks a bit like that nerf gun, but it also looks like the guns in RIPD...

Spoiler:

Also I love the female minis, and am planning on getting some in the nearish future and like the aesthetic of the wheeled taurox, it really works for my guard, particularly with an open back and pintel-mounted autocannon. My GF likes Victoria's work and she's not a huge guard fan, so obviously they're pretty good , Now if Vic could do a couple of grey knight/mystic warrior themed things, she would probably get some of them, especially if they had cool swords...

I quite like that design of Nerf gun, so the shape is fine with me. I do wonder how it is supposed to load though? Most revolvers either have a cylinder that swings out to the side, or they break open on a pivot below and behind the cylinder. Your design has two rounded points above and below the rear of the cylinder, either of which could be the pivot point, but it looks odd having potential pivots above and below the cylinder.

I agree with Eilif. Also, maybe lengthening the revolver chambers (more like in the image posted by mad_eddy_13) would help to signify that it is firing large boltgun rounds and isn't just a stub gun, which I'm guessing is the reason that the nerf gun design has been used in the first place.

I like model B, and also lengthen the cylinder a bit, make a bolt revolver "chunky"

Man, that single option for the universal rifle arms massively opens up your range for customization Vic. Have you had much issue filling in the "gaps" that always occur when you're having to fit weapons to the universal arms?

From what I can see in those pics, they line up pretty good, at least plenty well enough that no one would ever tell at tabletop distance.

Not-Valhallans?

Not-Valhallans.

Not-Valhallans!

Product line is shaping up to be mighty sexy. I would ever so like to be able to make Not-Valhallans and find myself a good Not-Commissar Caiphas Cain and repurpose some of those old Russes of mine laying around.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

Have a look at one of Brother Vinni's latest releases...

(His thread is here in N&R, and I only mention it here because Vic doesn't do a "not-Cain"...)

These kits might as well be Forgeworld, they fit in so perfectly in both design and sculpting quality. Probably the best GW proxies I've ever seen.

Tasmania.. Which way's Oregon from here again?

Mym, I'd say they fit better than any of the FW kits I've gotten.

Revolver: Some of the feedback in here is good, some is dross. I won't name names. I'll play around on the slide a bit more, see if I can get something I'm completely happy with.

Tip for the front suspension for the Taurox:

Pop on (but don't glue) the top rocker arm to both sides. Pop in the lower arm, then glue both arms to the vertical piece that connects into the wheel. Then glue both arms so they're now solidly fixed.

For more variety, vary the angle you connected them at so that one wheel is higher than the other, and then put a base about the size of the vehicle's body in so you have it crossing rocks or other rough terrain.

You can either trim the steering rod or simply punch a hole through the thin spot on the front suspension that's recessed for it and slide it into place. The rods are designed as long as they are so that if you want to, you can pose the wheels in a left or right turn of varying degrees.

Other stuff: Wait til you see what I'm cooking up next

I'll try being nicer if you'll try being smarter.

I was thinking while out today, so it's no secret the Death Korps models are very popular, and it only makes sense for Vic to make something in a similar vein, but with her own unique style (still love the Van Diemen's World Devils as Catachan replacements).

So, I'm currently living in Paris for school, and given its the centenniel of the 1st world war, I've been seeing a lot of Poilus as part of various demonstrations and whatnot. I was thinking, with a gasmask head, they'd be a similar, but more distinctly historically grounded trench warfare soldiers, especially as the Death Korps already incorporate a lot of elements from the Poilu, the coats and adrian crest on the helmet in particular.

Here's what I'm talking about (mind the awful colour; good look, but still not sure what the French were thinking of in terms of colour pallet for trench warfare):

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

Hmmm, some French style troops would be pretty unique, although I would prefer gas-mask British heads first (and gas-masked Arcadians, I'm holding out on buying any until these are a thing...).
As there is definitely a Commonwealth theme to many of the kits, I feel like some trencher Brits would fit in nicely. Especially with the newly released artillery kit.

I'd like to see some figures that are not clear derivatives of 19th-21st century Earth.

Look at Dune house soldiers, Moebius's art, Nausicaa, Rogue Trader army troopers, there's so much untapped potential without the need to make more stuff that is already made by other people.

I realize people want Victoria to do certain things that other people do because the quality will be higher- I get that- but it's frustrating to see the same things over and over again, just done by different companies.

EDIT: That said, the WW1 French look would be a departure from the usual UK, Soviet, and American derivatives.
