It looks very much like a Morris gun tractor to my untrained eyes, I think your model would look great buried beneath a load of stowage and in desert colours!

I like your suggestion. I'm going to officially endorse it and start adding stowage racks over the next few days, between games of Warships, Saga, and spending money ordering more Saga armies.

I'll try being nicer if you'll try being smarter.

Yep, Google Aec mammoth armored command car. Rommel looted a couple for the DAK. He loved that you could stand up in the back.

Really reminds me much more of the M3 Scout Car and merged with an M3 half-track and a snub nose, though it certainly has shades of many different vehicles in it rather then being a direct aping of any one.

My feedback would be that I really don't like the second door on the side; it seems excessive with the 2 large doors at the back and another door at the front on either side that are clearly not for the crew's benefit. I'd rather see another seat on the bench to bring that to 4 spots. Assuming those are mirrored, that would leave you with 8 seats. Put in something that looks like they could be rumble seats on the backs of the existing chairs and you've got an actual 10 man capacity plus driver+gunner.

Handrails/storage racks for the looking cool part would be good additions. Tow hitch was a solid suggestion given the heavy artillery Vic sells.

Will the final design be enclosed or open-top?

+1 for above suggestions re door latches, towing hook and (optional) external stowage racks. And how about a spare tyre and mounting bracket?

Going for a 'armoured Morris Gun Tractor' look probably isn't a bad idea, with a few aspects borrowed from the M3 Scout Car (which is probably tactically a closer match).

I reckon the spare tyre is something you would get separately, seeing as Vic sells a pack with one already for the Taurox kit:

Some way of incorporating the Taurox turret would be good. There's a lot of full Chimera third party conversion kits or replacements available, but no taurox ones (bar the tracks). I'd certainly be inclined to buy something that could stand in and didn't look so....well, 40K but not in a good way like the official Taurox does.

EDIT:_ You literally posted whilst I was typing.

It's a good start, but I don't know. Seems a little 'bolted on'. I was thinking a bit more Rolls Royce armoured car in turret design.

I agree, the current turret design just looks a bit odd currently. I think it either needs to be a bit smaller, or more enclosed and low to the surface of the roof. As is, it is too prominent. The vehicle itself looks good though.

How are you planing to incorporate the fact that the... faster versions of the equivalent vehicle have two weapons systems, the turret (which the current turret represents) and some silly weapons mounted on the wheel arches? Two turrets could work but could look a bit odd.

Actually, seeing as the... source model has the other weapons system on a fixed mount, making the second weapons system be a hull mount from the driver's cab could be a viable option? As a pintle mount out of the cab would work, like the machine gun ring on WWII US army trucks:

Obviously the steps to get into the vehicle will be replaced by fixed-mount guns, because asking troops to step on a firing weapon could not possibly have any negative repercussions for neither soldier nor weapon and it aligns with the existing safety motifs of the alternate vehicle.

I do agree that the turret is a bit too much at present; though I suppose the Taurox is rather tall so maybe as a physical object it's aligned? Hard to say from renders obviously. I'd prefer less prominent turret as well, though my opinion is more from aesthetic preference since I don't need any transports and thus I'm unlikely to be a buyer.

Still, while I'm unlikely to be in the market (*twiddle thumbs while waiting on BTRs*) I'm really hoping it does well so we can all look forward to GW releasing a conversion kit for it to replace all the wheels with tracks.

I'm in agreement with others that the turret does look a bit 'high' on the vehicle, my suggestion for an alternate way of approaching this feature would be to lower the weapon significantly into the hull and maybe go for just a gun shield on the weapon, as opposed to a turret for this kind of look? This
from another angle

or this

This kit Vic minis autocannon (along with the other gun carriaged weapons you already produce) would look insanely cool fitted into the vehicle sans road wheels and trailer bit imo, the gun shield looks especially good anyway.

My other desirable design feature to add to your kit, if you have the time, resources and inclination to do so would be to have the option of a 'flatbed' style truck to the rear of the cab, so a more open topped and slightly armoured rear end like an opel/us truck of WW2. A project I've always fancied is creating an ammunition/troop carrying land train that would be the logistical basis for following and resupplying a giant walker through a desert environment, (in my case a knight in 40k ) so in that regard this is a design that holds a LOT of promise hence my own interest.

Thanks for sharing your ideas with the community and taking/giving feedback, it's always really interesting to get a peek behind the curtains!

Both elements, the turret and the vehicle, look good but I don't think they look good together. I think the turret clashes. It's too large, too high, and seems like something technologically more advanced than the vehicle.

TBH I don't care if their was a historical vehicle it's base off of. It looks like a Armoured Bank Car to me, and I can't unsee it.

Well last I saw there were still a few left. It "helps" that I don't have a squad or two ready to show off with them, else they'd have probably disappeared quickly.

I doubt they'll last till next Friday, though. On the up side, if things keep going as they are, Next Friday I may make a few purchases from Forgeworld as long as the pound keeps getting pasted.

Are the female 'universal' arms significantly smaller than the male? I want to get some universal dress arms, but there doesn't appear to be a male version. Just curious if it would make a noticeable difference.

there is a noticeable difference in sizes between the male and female arms. I got a full Vic army and the females are noticeable from the males in many instances. Yes
