Managed to get one of the LE inquistors alongside some female troopers. All came looking great and, unsurprisingly, so fastly shipped it felt like it must have been in the post before I hit order. Great stuff as always.

Something like the sergeants breastplate would be good for that and would easily fit in as a carapace armor upgrade for those Victorian guard previewed at the top of the page:

The fact that you still own a wallet and it hasn't simply crumbled under the awesome weight of miniature purchases shows you still have a ways to go.
I used to have a wallet, then it became a bill fold, then a money clip, and now just a pocket on the back of my phone... one day it'll just be some loose change and food stamps rattling around in my pocket... so much to look forward too.

I'm glad this is getting some attention... Every 20 or so pages of this thread I've made the suggestion and I think this time is the first time anyone has noticed, 3 responses at that. In the grim dark future there is only scifi eastern european helmets, with 80's style sunglasses and jackets.

I'll talk to Vic about that. I'm working on Carapace style guys to go with the Judge-Inquisitor look currently.
Maybe something like the Household Cavalry breast plate with some late medieval style style faulds on the legs, with tassets off them? Curved shin guards that strap around the calf?
And Mythos, I assure you it gets noticed, but there's SO MANY OF ALL OF THE THINGS!!!! to do.
I'm not lying when I say there's a list as long as my arm of things Vic and I both want to work on for her lines.

I appreciate the enthusiasm, all I know is that I'd only need a torso that is recognizably carapace that aesthetically fits the Tannenburg/Victorian theme.
But seriously, you guys are awesome. I'm just sad I missed out on the Inquisitor.

Smitty, if I were to do it, it wouldn't look much like that, I'd go for much more rounded and realistic looking armour.
Not least of which being because I can do without being sued!

Squared off armour isn't necessarily unrealistic- it depends on what the armour is made of. Dorchester block for example is much more effective when it is perpendicular to the projectile, due to the ceramic discs in the armour plate. Look at Challenger IIs, Abrams and Leopard IIs for examples. I don't think it is unreasonable that a similar armour type is in use by the Cadian shock troops.

I'll +1 as well, and add that it would be nice to see heads with futuristic gasmasks and big fuzzy busbies, which could be combined with greatcoat legs and this proposed 30K torso to give you something akin to those lovely 30K Imperial Army drawings by Blanche.

Actually, the Chobham armour panels are flat because they can't be manufactured curved, something to do with the honeycombing of them or some such that is so far beyond my brain-grade it's not even funny, and still the front of the turrets are angled.
So the look (for infantry gear) doesn't look great (maybe made from a half-hex would work better) just doesn't do it for me.
Plus, yes, having the lawsuit stick shoved.. yeaaaaaaah, not so much.
I'll see what I can come up with after I finish off a few current projects (including my mini for next year's Adepticon).

Hmm, interesting, I thought it was due to the ceramic tiles in the structure of the armour, and that a direct hit only damages one tile, whereas a glancing hit can take out several tiles and weaken the armour more for subsequent hits. However, being unable to curve the armour sounds like a lot of sense.

From the newsletter: Greetings, A few new bits this month, and a preview of things to come. First up, the Female Troops get some Greatcoat legs. Also released are the first of the Sledgehammer BFG accessories; Resin versions of the BFG Ammo Crates and The Shells Sculpted by Jake Schneider. Once the Sledgehammer BFG Kickstarter has been fulfilled, the full PVC Sledgehammer kit and a resin edition of the crew will be available. Jake and I have also been working on some BFG resin additions and upgrades which will be revealed in due course. Thanks for reading, V (Models shown alongside the crates and ammo are from the Reaper Kickstarter) Also shown, a WIP: (Not sure if this will show up though) Currently on the workbench are Female Pith Helmet Heads and Female Victorian Torsos, these will be part of the upcoming female Victorian Guard Squads. Also there are some female Great Coat Torsos, these will enable moddelers to make troops that match the uniforms worn by the BFG Sledgehammer Crew. I expect there bits to see release in about 4 - 6 weeks. Personally I'm more interested in the art pinned to the wall in the background, Imperial Navy officers and an Imperial Noble.

Not to cost Vic business, but three or four places already produce those heads. You just have to get some guitar string and a little greenstuff to make the filter box.
I'll also caution that SL legs are somewhere between the greatcoat and arcadian in coat length, so you may have to greenstuff them a bit.
