Victoria Miniatures do tend towards the more heroic scale of 28mm but definitely come across as better proportioned than, say, the plastic Cadians.

Everything is better proportioned than plastic Cadians. Barbie. Those little Funko things everyone likes. The Cadian Plastics sit only behind Chaos Space Marines in terms of "IF they'd redo this kit, I might actually buy models from that range"

If anything, I wish Victoria's models were just a tad shorter so they'd scale up with the old metal models a little better. Then I'd probably buy some to sprinkle into my old metal Cadians. As it stands, it seems like they'd stick out too much from the comparison shots I've seen of them. Especially the suddenly Amazonian females, lol.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

We'll find out soon enough eh.

People really need to move on from the old metal Guard. They were lovely models for their day, but it's pretty evident the industry has moved on from 28mm-top-of-head-ridiculously-heroic-scale to the modern 29/30mm-to-eyes-heroic-but-not-total-mutants-scale and that's objectively been a good thing for the quality and level of detail in the kits. Any new Cadian kit would follow the trend.

Anyway, asides aside, a question; do we know if Vic is planning to do a set of Female Victorian Rifle arms in the old non-universal style? I much prefer the bolt-action-style lasrifles to the assault-rifle-style with pistol grips, and if necessary I'll order the rolled-sleeve version and just resculpt the sleeves, but I was hoping to make this a quick build & paint project.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

I think it just needs to be on record for those that have never ordered from this company. These are some of the finest alternate Guard mini's and parts around. I've bought a rather large amount of mini's from them in the past and always look forward to my next purchase. Lots of great stuff has been released recently and I'm itching to make a new order in December.

Here here, I hvae made several purchases and cannot fault the models quality or the customer service aspect of the company.

Agreed I just got a load of stuff from them in the post this week. Cracking models. Will look forward to getting some female pith helmets at some point.

I have held off placing an order for the release of the bike, I might have to give in soon as it has nearly been 2 years since my last order.

I don't think it the bike is coming anymore

Tasmania.. Which way's Oregon from here again?

With the Matilda, we've kept running into technical problems. ("Oh, we need to print it X way else it'll warp and do bad things. Wait, that doesn't work well, uhm, we'll try this") from various prototypers.

Thanks to Victoria's time at ReaperCon (sadly, I couldn't attend due to family health reasons), we're working with the guys from Trenchworx now (who have a line of 28mm historical tanks), and they are going to put their know-how to work for us so we can finally get this off the ground. Given that Trenchworx are specialists with this, Vic and I have the greatest of confidence that the end is in sight.

I begin to understand what a pregnant elephant feels like.

I'll try being nicer if you'll try being smarter.

I've backed their first Kickstarter for a Rolls and British tank, good quality casts, if a wee bit on the brittle side with regards to the resin used, but no real complaints here as they're a competent company.

If this keeps up though the Matilda may very well become the Half Life 3 or Duke Nukem Forever of this slice of hobby.

I don't know who'll be doing the casting, I wasn't present for that discussion (obviously), so I can't say.

No, no, it'll happen. Believe me, I want a dozen for myself, it's the reason I designed it! (With damned few exceptions, I only design things I want or will use!)

My original intent was for a squadron, but at this stage I'm getting just one, mostly to see how it pans out and if it still catches my fancy after 2+ years, as most of my armoured needs have by now been fulfilled through other means.

So people have seen pictures of these guys here and there on the forum, figured I would post the (mostly) completed results here first, since Victoria lamb bits made this conversion work so well. This is my first attempt at Valhallans, using Victoria for weapons and the Soviet Winter Infantry kit for pretty much everything else. Her original lasguns (the rifle grip kind) work very well for historical infantry models that are designed to hold regular rifles, all I had to do was shave a couple mm's off of the stocks of the rifles and they fit great. Pistol grip weapons like the meltas are a bit trickier, but not a big deal as the soviet box comes with a crazy amount of different arms.

Some new stuff, from the newsletter:

Male and female winter arms, Captain Cain in resin (Also a limited quantity of metals left) and new backpacks.

Also..

Sledgehammer Update
For those following the Kickstarter, you would have heard there has been a delay with the casts. The Sledgehammer is expected to ship to backers around January. Once fulfillment is done it will also be available from Victoria Miniatures and Reaper Miniatures. Jake Schneider and I are already working on some cool resin accessories too.

Those Winter arms I am watching very closely. They would be so handy when converting various GW Guard Regiments, Steel Legion, Vostroyans and Valhallans especially.

A question: why is the Greatcoat leg double-breasted when there are no double-breasted torsos?

No need to delete, just report and move on, putting the boot in is what we have mods for.

Back on topic, from the Bones III KS update:

These clear-faced packages not only look attractive on a store shelf, but they offer a level of product protection - not only does the package protect the stiff plastic parts from breaking, but by putting each part in it's own pocket it provides a level of protection against missing pieces!

Victoria Miniatures did a fantastic job with this model, and we're super happy to be able to give it such a majestic treatment!

Interesting choice of packaging, but excellent nonetheless. Congratulations lady and gent, on getting this far!
