How do people feel about the following (potential) projects?

"Seekers of the Truth, Defenders of the Realm" (Not-Inq)
Tracked APC
Half-track conversion for existing plastic tracked APC
Lost & The Fallen (Characters to start with)
Large Reptile (aka Dinosaur) Cavalry

NONE OF THESE ARE CURRENTLY IN THE PIPE-LINE. This is for interest and directions of my next few months' worth of work for V.

I need something to drag me out of ARK for a while, I feel back into that pit-trap a few weeks ago, hah.

I'll try being nicer if you'll try being smarter.

Well, If it's a Chaos-y APC from the Gaunt Books, that has my Vote—but I may be biased. But half-tracks are horrendously under-represented in the game.

To me inquisition forces are all about variety, so anything you guys can add to that arena, particularly with your quality sculpts, would be awesome.

Also half tracks are cool

Could the not-inq line include a few non-combat (or at least non-infantry) types? Pilots, imagists, guilders, camp followers, that sort of thing.

Yes, as Turaxa says, non-combatants in the Seekers of the Truth, Defenders of the Realm range would be fantastic. I'd love some civilians.

I would love some lost 'n damned-type Chaos troopers. A very underserved range IMO.

Also now that greatcoat troops are out and older ranges are getting updates, any ETA on possible female combat/conscript legs?

For the love of Jeebus - Servitors. Basic, slack-jawed lookin', cyber-gothic styled, half-machine people with some variety. Industrial servitors, scribe servitors, weapon servitors, servitors with no legs hanging out of wall-mounted sockets, servitors with laudhailers for faces, bog-standard "carry your stuff/work with hand-tools" servitors. Just, some servitors please. A few of them being non-slooty female models would be great too.

Seriously, it's been how long since the stumpy, badly-proportioned SM Servitor & Techmarine box from GW and I've still yet to see a single third party take on the concept that's any good.

I second that motion, I needed a servitor for something specific (a noblewoman's attendant) and none of the existing ones fit the bill. I actually own almost every servitor GW has put out, including unreleased 2nd edition ones. I think I'm only missing the Grimaldus retinue.

I'd buy more

Are we talking Chimera, Taurox or other APCs ?

I've used yours and others wheeled kits on 3 Taurox so far and although it improves the kit, there still seems to be something off about them.

If this is for the Taurox, may I also suggest looking at retooling the suspension system for the wheels? As rude as this may sound, it is a nice system, but not especially sturdy, or at least it wasn't for the one I got. Or maybe I just built it wrong.

We're talking about for the Chimera. I hate the Taurox and I'm not touching that again with a ten foot pole unless someone offers to pay my mortgage for 6 months.

Brook, I think it's partially a case that I could have made it more "solid", and perhaps it needing some pinning. I 'unno off the top of my head. Yes, if it were to be revisited, there are some tweaks I'd make (but this is true about anything ever designed, engineered, built or otherwise made in the universe). But like I said, I hate that kit so I'm not coming near it again without exceptional circumstances.

In regards to comments about cyborgy helot type things - yeah, I totally get you. There needs to be more of them out there, and at least some of them need to capture a gothic horror feeling and/or Viktor Frankenstein's Monster feel. I personally love the art that captures the (very painful) look of part of a human being hard wired into a very non-ergonomic piece of machinery that's almost described as "crude", a perennially tortured look to them - even if you can't see their mouth or face. Certainly that particular aspect wouldn't work well for a noble's helot, and so a different approach would have to be taken for them. I've got visions of some on tracks, some with meat legs, some with mechanical legs, some with 4-8 legs, standard arms, modified arms, gene-bulked arms, arms that end in iron attachments with angry and puffy red flesh abutting them...

What can I say? I miss the "grim" and "dark" parts of it that have disappeared a lot in the last decade or so!

I'll try being nicer if you'll try being smarter.

Your Taurox conversion kit has the nicest wheels of the current selection out there, but for all future conversions I've been going to another company sadly, as their suspension system is a nice and chunky single piece that's way more suited for tabletop use than yours.

Still holding out for that Matilda though.

And bummer that Reaper fethed up so badly, I bet you guys are also chomping at the bit to get those guns out already.

Ooh, I really like the idea of servitors, especially if they are multi-part. Both high-quality and industrial-standard servitors would be excellent.

Well, GW's bank balance may like you if you pull that one off. I've seen some all-wheels conversions but a half-track?

Dependant on the look, I don't know if it would revitalise my Imperial Guard or my Blood Axe Orks.

I wouldn't say no to servitors or inquisitors.

My favorite though would be with the not-Arbites idea even if it's kind of tangential to the Not-Inq suggestion. Along with that would be a "low intensity" APC kit or patrol vehicle which a half-track could certainly qualify as.

I like that tracked APC idea, so I throw my lot behind that. Especially if it's more realistic than the Chimera chassis. Maybe make it so it can be tracked, halftracked or wheeled?

If I were Deadpool reading this, I'd be making a 4th Wall-breaking joke about arousal right now.

Seriously though - all the ^this^, 40K has been gradually(and now with gusto) heading more down the Big Damn Hero Mans Punchy Baddies narrative/aesthetic route for a while now and has increasingly lost both the often genuinely creepy "grimdark" stuff and the irreverent and cynical 2000AD-style humour of its earlier incarnations, and it's a huge shame. If you and Vic decide to counteract that trend a little with what you're describing there, I will literally start putting money aside now.
