Granted they do look a lot better than Cadians.
And if you're happy with Cadians with a head swap, great. I built a whole army like that once, but have sold it and am replacing it with Vic's models. They're much closer to what I want, and I'm at the point in my hobby life where I'm okay paying extra to get that.

Its also a question of esthetics, I much prefer the look of the FW Kriegers than any other gasmask/longcoat models I've see so far.

It's a damned good look, you're right on that.
I do like Vic's as well though. Having multiple human armies, I'm sure I can find a home for them too.

Yes, I should have said so, they're pretty cool model. Another issue is if you start with X models from Y company, you may not want to switch and have squads that don't seem to get their kit from the same quartermasters (although there are fluffy way to work around, some people might want to stick to one look)

These figures are better then FW sculpts. Zero flash, zero defects in casting. They are well worth the price. But not for you to break your back on. I'd recommend a squad here and there, and the bits for augmenting your plastic guard sets.
I'll be honest, I had a load of Victorian Guard off Vic Miniatures a few years back, and they came with horrendously mismatched mould lines all over. I was prepping for Adepticon and in a massive hurry (no time to wait for replacements) so I didn't mention it to them. I did have to spend a lot of time with a file though!

Depends on the army, my Stormtrooper army is made up of all the different Stormtroopers models GW made, plus some of my own, all with different camo scheme, if I were to paint all of them, that is, they're supposed to receive the survivors from depleted ST companies, and they sometimes grab Guard squads that have impressed them.

Cold weather dressed Valhallans alongside light desert clothing Tallarns fighting in a jungle!
In the days of 2nd Ed, I did have a Command and Infantry squad for each regiment before concentrating on the Mordians.

The idea of multiple Guard regiments fighting together has been a part of the game since at least the 2nd ed codex was released. I always liked the idea of an army like that, with separate platoons made up of different regiments.

I always liked that visual too.
My Praetorians have a squad each of Steel Legion, Squats and Vostroyan First Born. I'd like to find a metal squad of Cadians to round out the army but those have been surprising difficult to obtain lately.

My first handful of squads (back in early 2014) required a bit of work to get in order too, and I had one example of a bad miscast. Victoria replaced the bad piece very promptly, and all of my recent purchases have been very well cast.
I think a lot of the bugs in the casting process have been ironed out.

Setting aside that it was a bit of a joke not a planetary assault on your personal taste - regardless of how long it's been a thing, it's a pretty silly thing. Multiple regiments fighting together would almost never be mixing with such hideous, multicoloured variety at the squad or platoon level, and permanently amalgamated units would either adopt the battledress of the numerically dominant subgroup or be given entirely new standardised uniforms. Praediachandian Guard was a thing for the same reason Unbound/ AoS FFA-mode have become a thing - GW didn't want anything to stand in the way of our teen selves' poor impulse control.

Has anyone tried Vic mini arms on the Neophyte hybrid torsos? I would like to know how well they fit if anyone could give it a test. Much obliged if anyone does.

From what I can tell, there's two different sets up of "Neophyte Hybrids". One of them uses the Cadian torsos, so those should be compatible.
The others, I honestly don't know, I never got to pick up my copy of Deathwatch since my last US trip got cancelled.

The arms are well made, and fit in the Cadian sets perfectly. The other sets are compatible, but your arms are going to look a little off, but not enough to be noticeable with the freak hybrids with the mining gear. They have 3 or 4 arms each, so the arms fit right in....

I meant on the 3rd and 4th gen bodies wearing the mining suits that have a single pair of arms. If they fit the torsos fine then I'm happy, I'm not making cultists out of them but normal humans.
I forgot about the Cadian conversion kit!

From Facebook:
Hi, as you have seen I am currently working on resin beastmen. So far I have made 5 different standing legs, 2 different kneeling legs and 10 individual heads.
I plan to release these as 5 and 10 mad squads like the other troops. I would also like to do something with the original metal squad you see here.
Let me know how many minis you want in the squad and what weapon mix you would like to see. I could do a five man squad armed just with close combat weapons.
Many thanks, V
