Well, finally broke down and ordered 2 squads of Colonial Defense troopers!

No problem, been dying to have some, and saw I could spare some cash, Likley get another to break down to command and special OPs. so squad with special heads not sure which to go with, Rescue team or the personalities, and the Balaklava heads for spec-OPs

I do like the Colonial Defence torso's, found they match up well with the FW Elysian legs. Adds a just a little more bulk (armour) to the mini that I think the standard part lacks.Tried also the Scion parts with them to make Veteran/Storm Trooper types but there's something not right in my mind with GW's scaling here.
The Jovian Hammers I bought will find a way into the Drop Co. as well (somehow). Love the proportions ie large stocky and well muscled rather than pot bellied/flabby etc that seems to have carried over from Fantasy .Zinge has an awesome stocky looking minigun set with pose-able belt that even looks like it has Grav Chute vents so that's the Ripper sorted Trying to source atm a few of the GW Ogryn mask heads which will fit the theme nicely.
So, also happy with my purchases from MR.

I've found that if you shave the scion's arms in the gap between the shoulder pad and where the arm is glued onto the torso you can get a nice fit. The scion legs, however, are way off. I'll be getting some CDF legs in the near future, as well as some different bits and pieces here and there rather than using the Maximini legs etc. I've got a model I did this for in the spoiler below.

Yeah I did, worked with a fantastic 3D artist on Shapeways, more than happy to share the link if you're interested! I love them, they have a lot of synergy with the Mad Robot stuff, I'm hoping to create an IG army that has plausible design elements of EVA and orbital combat.

Liking the look of the HB, that LC looks right cool!
I look at that auto-cannon and hear the Pom-pom-pom-pom already!

That will work well having CDF arms for my guys, and any troops I order in future! (Really leaning to Kurgans as next).

The extender for standing behind a taller barricade is also a great idea that some companies seem to have neglected, forcing their heavy weaponeers to have to get low to the ground! Very forwards thinking of you!

Something you guys ought to consider, how about an add-on sensor back that clips onto the heavy weapons to make them automated. CDF wouldn't be right without their Auto-Sentries.

Do you guys know if Mad Robot still has the free shipping on orders over $100? About to place an order but didn't see it on the shipping page anymore... *devastation*

Not a bad idea.

Made another (medium) order, will post pics of the end results in here when I've done a dry build

And?! I've never been to America, that's precisely what makes our Vegas trip so special.
And I had to say medium to financially assuage my own guilt and set the stage for my inevitable future purchases, haha. Once I had my first order and saw the quality I really regretted not getting more. Also, kudos on the free shipping threshold, I am such a predictable sucker for free shipping, it makes me feel like all my money goes on product and not on transport.

My IG is a conglomeration of different Republics as part of a grand Union of republics. Khadrovian Union of United Republics, or K.U.U.R for short.........Hmmm, may have to "dog theme" my vehicles and such? Same with platoons?

Just got my order of 20 CDF troopers with heat rifles, and seeing the attention to detail, well, even the bored out rifle barrels won me over! I will post pics in my Plog of the troopers as they progress!

Wait, there are companies that actually sell weapons with plugged barrels? Imagine that......

Had to do some adjusting of arms for the rifles to rest, many hold the ammo mag at the bottom, all is working out, shoulder pads are smaller than I thought, but not impossible to work with.

Oh yeah major help NOT having to drill out the rifle barrels! I will be making more purchases

Oh and I just had the idea of making some Para-troopers from the right parts of the minis pieces made by MRM.

Okay, using the parts this will be a 61.50 dollar jump squad, just the 10 man variety

Tanker heads+Imperial Torso 3+jump packs+CDF legs+Fatigue arms+Luminous CQ rifles+GL+PRor flamer and that is w/o9 additional accessories yet, or officer arms, well, odd for a Para leader to have fancy arms. Yet it is a custom squad after all.

Oh silly me! I just discovered the "custom squad builder" which will keep the price of the Paratroops down to the same price as any complete squad! I feel rather silly!

Yeah, now I can work on making the paratroopers with the grav chutes added in my cart in a few weeks, as well as the "Expendable rescue team" Of course for one, I will have to order the Zinge mini-gun and flexible ammo feed, I can order the Danamian MGs and a grenade launcher, Man with mini-gun ain't got time to bleed.
