Yuk.. That think looks more like the Pig-Iron vehicle.. which isn't a bad thing but the only thing Abrams about it is the turret.. which seems like it was swiped off a 1/35 or bigger historical kit. It's too tall or not wide enough.
Either way, thanks for sharing but I think this is a job for Mad Robot (cue heroic theme)

There IS sanity to the proportions - Compare any GW vehicle to a RL tank and you'd find the proportions ridiculous - I made the model to fit within a 10% margin, that I found reasonable for a "counts as" model - And yes, I took heavy inspiration from the Abrams, since my IG run a more modern/near future look as opposed to Grimdark-Lets-Cover-Everything-In-Skulls-And-Spikes-Tchno-Goth - Its not for everyone, but then it was never intended so...

...Sorry Steve for the hijack - love the Gideon design.

If you want to talk about the merits of those other offerings, please take that to a different, more appropriate thread.

This is what i was trying to avoid in the first place lol. Yes it was Treadheaz tank but it seems to have been blown out of the water discussion wise. Sorry Mad robot.

No harm done folks, I happen to like the Cerebrus and I hope there are people out there using it blow the crap out of the enemy...lol.

Getting back on track, I'm happy to announce that our latest offering, the Vanderbilt Fighters, will be releasing Friday.

Here's a sneak peek...

Is that one of the Juve bodies? I like the suit design a lot. It looks like a cross between a Dune movie style Stillsuit and a Crysis Nanosuit. I'm curious, how does the body look with your respirator heads? Are there still plans for a high tech helmet/mask to go with this body?

@Barzam: That's the adult body, more pics tomorrow. Are you talking about the beret heads w/ respirators? I'll try and throw that combo together but it may take a day or so. I want to do a small follow up wave of additional parts once I can get some feedback from people. The helmeted head to match the bodies will happen then, I estimate it will be another month or so.

It's the heroic thing throwing you off. It makes them look stumpy. If you use non-heroic heads on them it minimizes the effect a little.

Awesome models Steve - I do like the Nanosuit resemblance - might just have to convert something with a compound bow from wargames factory' apoc survivors!

It is throwing me a little bit, but there is a Juve body type as well.

Yeah, the beret heads with the respirators. A follow up wave sounds like a cool idea. If you are planning to use the Crysis helmet for inspiration, can I recommend that you consider the far superior multiplayer helmet designs over the single player one?

Which of the two on the bottom do you prefer?

Probably the CELL style one on the left, though with an opaque visor.

Glad you like them, I'll do the top one and the bottom left. Look for them in another month or so.

From the looks of things, the top and bottom left helmets actually aren't all that different. The main difference seems to be the visor area. You could probably use the same model and just change up the visor to do both types.

Will they be available in all adult squads? I understand why there are teen bodies but I'm not really playing Necromunda..

Ooh, very nice. I especially like the gas mask heads. Between the Shock troopers and the greatcoat bits, you could make some very nice pseudo French.

I am really liking the look of the Vanderbilt Fighters. If I get a Necromunda game started again I will definitely keep them in mind.

Whether to go with the new suits or other figures, do you think it would be possible for Mad Robot to make a set of heads along the lines of the ODST helmets from the Halo series? I am having a surprisingly hard time finding anything remotely like them. The only ones I have seen are from Pig Iron, and they are closing up shop and have none left in stock.

@Barzam: Definitely a niche that needed to be addressed

@Slayer Dragonwing: There are some helmeted heads coming soon for the Vanderbilts, not exactly like ODST but similar. Check a few posts ago to see what was suggested.

Mad Robot - Are there going to be all adult squads for the Vanders? I didn't see them when I looked last.

Curious, will there be a ww1 style French leg set to go with those fine heads in Adrian helms? the way the French trench coat sets on the lets is rather unique I find. Torso's will still work, as will any arms. though I wonder if there is a bolt action styled las rifle inbound?

@Lone Cat: I believe some puttee legs will be in order when we do our first regiment of desert troops this year. The other parts are already there; Fatigue Arms, Imperial Torsos 3.

I've been pondering some guns like that for a while but they would require new arm designs to accomidate the different grip. Not sure if that will happen or not.

Will puttee legs follows Tallarn and DKoK patterns? shirtflap outside pants/trousers as in the pictures i've shown here?
