Scorched Brown is literally the undercoat pinnings of my entire army, and to my dismay, the new "GW equivelent", Rhinox Hide, is several orders of magnitude darker than Scorched Brown. Is there any other paints, Vallejo, or new GW range, that are similar in shade to this?

Well this chart says charred brown, a vallejo game colour, is a match to scorhed brown.

I don't know if its accurate because I haven't used this colour but the chart is quite reliable.

Hope this helps

I hope so, heh. I'm a bit off put from "color compatablity charts" after being lied to by the GW one, but whatever.

Off to Hobby Lobby, I guess!

Trust the Wisdom of Dakka :-)

At least you are sure, that there is no corporate agenda in play here just hobbyists, helping each other out! I personally have found, that the Vallejo Game Color range is almost a perfect match for the GW line. If there is a difference, it is so small, that it's almost negligible.

I have the vallejo game colour and a pot of scorched brown and I can verify at least between the two I have there is no discernible difference at all they are a perfect match (to my eyes anyway)

I actually registered here just to write this reply. I came across this very page two weeks ago when I realized my scorched brown reserves were running low.
Having read the above comments I purchased charred brown from vallejo. THEY ARE NOTHING ALIKE.
Well, brown obviously, and with evocative names.
Other then that, scorched has a reddish hue, charred does not. Charred is actually very similar to rhinox hide.

IF YOU'RE SEARCHING FOR A SCORCHED BROWN REPLACEMENT, KEEP ON LOOKING.

I used Scorched Brown on my bases and leather for my Valhallans, and Rhinox Hide looks pretty much identical to me! It's the color it's supposed to match on that chart.

I use the vallejo as the base for yellow. you'll like it. the other vallejo game colours are quite good, especially as they do not just the recent OOP colours, but the really OOP colours like hawk turqoise and terracotta etc.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.
