Just got my book from the kickstarter. Looks really good very impressed. The quality was high compared to some of the new current books like saga and musk and tomahawks which were B&W softcover folded staples paper.

Looking forward to digging old minis to use as warbands.

my friend got his KS book and showed it to me. First impression: totally badass. Super high production values and fantastic art.

I'm still waiting on mine, he just got the book pledge, I got a whole warband, guessing that's why mine is running later than his.

Just got my warband - the Creeps - along with my other KS goodies. The models are really, really great. Clean casts and full of character. I don't think the painted examples do the models justice at all. I got a sampler pack as well that contains a few models from each of the warbands. They are all great sculpts. The end result is that I went from being cautious and only supporting for one warband, to wishing I had pledged for either a lot of extras or for more warbands too.

A small town at the foothills of the beautiful Cascade Mountains

The game look intriguing, but I'm disappointed in the name. It reminds me too much of infanticide. It's frankly a real turnoff.

Couldn't they have picked a better name? I like the flying monkey idea, and the thought of painting those up almost made me pull the trigger.

I was on the bubble to begin with, but the name is just enough of a drawback to keep me from buying this.

You could always associate it with Genocide instead.

Or Homi-, Fratri-,Parri-, Mariti-, Kitchensink-, Regicide...
It basically means killing of noun, or in this case "Killing of fantastic creature(s)".

Yeah, I have no problem with it.

The warband creation system is really brilliant BTW. Grab any figures you want and spend a few minutes statting them up and you've got a whole new army.

The Hole continues to send strange and mysterious things into Nowhere from Faraway! New powers are struggling to make their way and fortunes in Nowhere, factions who have come there from an Otherworld…

Using the Warband Creator in the Fanticide rulebook, we have created stats for some of the amazing Otherworld Miniatures sets for those who prefer a more traditional style warband (though we know you love the Creeps like everyone else). These stats and points are featured on our website:
http://www.aliendungeon.com/Joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=123therworld-box-sets&catid=92:sample-warbands

We have also put together some great bundle deals for getting started in Fanticide with these Otherworld warbands. They can be found right here:

These offer you a savings on your first foray into the world of Nowhere, as well!

Keep an eye on the Alien Dungeon website and forums for even more exploration of the Warband Creation system and other new warband ideas!

Thats a really cool idea.

Need to add in there the rules for those single monsters in there, such as the Medusa.

Wonder how I can add her in to my rabid killer kid gangs.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Great idea! I hope to finally have the disposable cash after the new year to pick up the rulebook.

It really is quite good. Get the rules and the activation card deck.

Looks great judgedoug! How have they fared in your games?

How does the game play? I'm not interested in their minaitures, background or fluff, but I am interested in digging out some of my old, old Warhammer figures and doing RoC warbands.

Scipio, Fanticide is great. Here's a quickie run-down:

It uses a card-based activation with some event cards thrown in per turn. Each unit has it's own activation card. The cards are generic enough - two sets with different icons so you know Side A's cards from Side B. Since units are grouped into what they are (stickers, clubbers, shooters, etc), if you have two clubber units in your army, your deck would have Clubbers 1 and Clubbers 2. Additionally your heroes have extra cards which they can use to double-activate units. Extra event cards include a Unicorn showing up to cause trouble, Rainbows appearing, etc.

Models in units have Virtues, which are their stats such as Give and Take and Command; some have Vices, which could be detrimental (Creeps have the Vice of Darkdwelling which means they get penalties when there's a Rainbow, etc)

Missions and your objectives are based on the 7 Sins, so the two forces could be going for very different goals.

And of course there's a whole section on warband creation and how to stat up units with a points system, etc.

Honestly it's one of my, if not the, favorite/best skirmish games I've experienced. It's super fun, super quick. It fits old Realm of Chaos stuff _really_ well (the book is even littered with Tony Ackland's art, so it reminds me a lot of RoC) and there's even some "sci fi magic weapons" in there like chainsaws and shotguns, like RoC allowed WHFB Chaos champions to take plasma guns, etc.

I seriously cannot recommend it more highly. Get the book and the activation deck. I also got the spell effects (nice acrylic cut spell templates).

Check out this battle report, it'll give you an idea of how the game plays.

I have yet to play with them; I just got them finished. Hope they will be devouring some enemies this Saturday!

Fantastic models, loved painting them every step of the way.

That put me off as well.

Honestly this game, and its art, looks a little too old-school for my taste. Some of this stuff was left in the past for good reason. The eyeball monster faction is just too "out-there" for me. I like D&D, but stupid stuff like the Myconids kills it for me. Same with the new dragonzord in 40K.

Every time I look at that group picture I expec them to break out in song.

Yeah, that kinda kills it for me too. I don't need Fraggle Rock: the wargame.

If this game was a more serious Realms of Chaos-type game, I'd be in, but all the cheesy 70s tropes, plus the gnomes,... it's all just too much for me. Unless this game has plastic sprues, I can't see me seriously considering it.

The Otherworld pig-faced Orcs, looks good, and if the rules are good, I'd consider buying some Drow from various manufacturers, and starting a D&D/Fanticide army. Considering it now, until I hear more game reviews...

Looking for the Empire spearmen from the Warhammer sixth edition box set (empire vs orcs) Must be unpainted and in good condition. Also looking for MIB Empire State Troops boxes.

Looking for Battle for Macragge and Black Reach Tactical squads, unpainted and unassembled.

Don't forget, the rulebook actively encourages you to use any manufacturer's models. The game is designed around that concept - including down to the setting, Nowhere. Think of it kind of as a Battle Royale for your miniatures collection. Stat up anything you want, as they did with the Otherworld Orcs.

Personally, I love the asthetic of the Creeps, so I got them during the Kickstarter. If I didn't like them, I would have just gotten the rules and card deck. The rules really are that good, almost in a "why hasn't someone done this before" kind of way, but in 20 years of wargaming I haven't encountered a generic system so simple and streamlined but so tactical and fun.
