I'm going to be returning to James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va. and I'm wondering. Are there dakka dakka members in the area that play 40k/FoW?

I am attending JMU and would love to get games in with more people. Message me anytime.
I am able to set up a table at my place (albeit not a very nice one, but it works.)

Major thread necromancy here but...after 3 semesters away, I'm back to JMU in the Fall! (Long Story)
Continuing this long story, I'll have a unique place to host on campus (not a dorm) and am willing to organize it. I'm just looking to enjoy friendly games multiple times a month. For larger groups we could also head out to Lost Shade, assuming they are still around, or look to book rooms on campus. I have Marines and growing Lizards.
Considering this has been long dead, I'll start sending out some PMs to everyone in this thread in about a week to start organizing something.
We are just a month away!

The thing is from what I am seeing Lost Shade isn't doing the best, last I check they were only open 2 days a week. That said pm me once again when classes start. I am interested, sides there is always Comic Toast.

Hey everyone, I know it is a little bit of a drive but there is the Dragon's Hoard in Stauton, VA (have not been therem but I hear it is nice). There is also The End Games in Charlottesville, VA. We have a decent sized group. The End has a forum for meet ups and what not.
forums.theendgames.co
They are also hosting a convention with a 40k, fantasy and warmachicne/hordes tourney. www.omegaconvention.com

Makarov,
Good to hear. I'll be in contact once school rolls around. And yeah, last I was there, Lost Shade never seemed to be doing particularly well so I wasn't even sure if it was still around. Although I've never heard of Comic Toast so I'll be sure to check that out.
@spaztacus - Thanks for the info. I'll actually be heading down to C-ville quite often this semester so I don't have a problem getting in on the scene there if possible. I'll check out out the convention and once we get a group together at JMU, perhaps we can carpool down for various events.

Right now me and a bunch of other guys have a 40k league going in Harrisonburg. It is every Saturday. That is when we usually play. We play at Lost Shade.

Dragons Hoard in Staunton (20 minutes south) usually has a Tournament every couple months. Dragonfire Comics in Stephens City (40 minutes north) has monthly ones.

Warboss,
That's a pretty consistent scene then? What time do y'all start on Saturdays?

Hey guys. Been lurking for a while, but thought I would say hi.
I've been getting started in 40K and also I bought a truckload of Robotech RPG Tactics minis (coming soon!) but I have no one to play with. I am in Harrisonburg, VA as well. I've been to Lost Shade a couple times, but only for supplies. I've never actually played a game of 40K either. I got the Dark Vengence box and the 40K rulebook. I've been painting up some Dark Angels, but it's been a slow process.
Are there any games where I can come by, watch, get to know everyone and learn how to play before I bring an army, etc.? I am not a JMU student or anything (I'm an old fogey), so that might be a stumbling block for me to come to anyone's dorm locations, etc.

I sort of dropped the idea of learning the game a year ago, but im revisiting it now. I feel weird just wondering up to the kids i see playing in lost shade so i still haven't really played. or even just watched a game. If you or anyone else has some input pm me

Well, if you'd like to meet up or something at Lost Shade one day (like a Sat. probably) I'd be more than willing. I still don't have an army together yet, been procrastinating a bit due to no one to learn/play with. I'm also $700 deep into the Robotech RPG Tactics kickstarter whenever that arrives. I'm a big Robotech fan. Anyway, let me know if you'd like to try and meet up sometime! I'll PM you as well.

Realizing that this is largely a dead thread, I just moved to HBurg. It looks like the local store doesn't exist anymore...anyone still around here playing some 40k?

There are some playing but there is nowhere in town to go.
Dragons Hoard is the closest. the have tables in the basement.
I thought about starting a club but don't have time to commit to it.
