So, after a little over four months i have finally reached 4000pts with my new BA army (that's a 1000 pts a month basically ) And am almost done. Still intending to add a vindicator to the list in some point, but propably going to take a break and focus on something else for a while. Updated the whole army photo and there are new close up pics of the latest additions at the bottom of the thread. Enjoy and comments and questions are welcome as allways

(replaced the older "whole army" picture with a current showing every finished model that i have at the moment)

Scroll down the thread for more closeup photos of my models as i have been adding them whenever i get something new finished

Very nice indeed! And especially nice going with all of this in just a month. I love how your Priests have turned out.

Lovely models.

How is it you do your power weapons?

i paint the blade first blue, then highlight ot with a 50/50 mix of white and blue, then real neatly only white. Then I use a watered down orc flesh wash (green wash) on the whole blade and let it dry. Then highlight it once more with white. Lastly I use gloss varnish to give the blade a good shine. The dread talons are done the same way btw

Just finished my assault squad. Basically had to plow through painting them as I needed them in a game painted fast. They are decent enough for a troop choise although there are some sloppy bits and some details are not painted really well. All in all they will suffice for my needs After playing a game with them, i'm going to need to modify the weapon options later when i get the extra pits to do that. The sergeant will get a power fist (possibly will magnetize the arms so i can swap either fist or weapon), and the plasma pistols will be changed to meltaguns.

Now i got a fully painted 2000 pts. BA army to play with. I'm thinking of adding another 10 DC with bolters and a powerfist and a DC themed stormraven to my list, bringing the army total up to 2500pts, but ofc need to have Astarath to make a legal list Will be posting images of those additions in the future.

You see that one guy in the shady glasses, driving the shady van? I'm across the street from him.

Solid, solid work, especially considering the timeframe it was done in.

Just finished my Death Company Stormraven. All the weapon opitons are magnetized so i can change to any configuration i want. It took me little over two days to assemble and paint the whole thing. It was quite fast as i used black undercoat spray for the whole model and the red X's i did using a red spraypaint and just covered the X areas with masking tape before spraying the black.

Just finished my bolter death company and theid designated drop pod.

The DC took me about two nights to paint, but i finished the drop pod in 7 hours after opening the box as I had only one day to get it done

Now i'm going to take some vacation time from painting, but then have a librarian and a devastator squad waiting when i get back from my holiday After those models have been painted, my army total exeeds 3000 pts

That is some fast, efficient and quality paint work given the amount of time your investing in it. Real nice work. With the new rules, DC have just become a total nightmare! Real nice work.

Thx, i did the base color to the drop pod the same way o did ot to the stormraven, by first spraying the red X areas red, mask taping the areas i wanted to remain red and then just spraying the whole thing black. After that the rest of the painting process was easy peasy much easier paint job than on my red drop pod!

The goblin green rim works really well with the blood angels color theme IMO Would not use the "retro" color bases on a chaos army though

thx i tried a new technique for the SG and dread banners by painting the picture area with dark flesh, then bleached bone and finally white. Tjen i colored the image areas with really watered down colors to get an aged color cloth look to them.

Very nice! Excellent, vivid colors. IMO the old-school-style bases and vivid colors make it look very much like an updated, better-looking 2nd-ed style studio army. Very cool mix of the old and the new here.

Some really interesting techniquest described too, like your power weapon approach, and your technique for the banners. Thanks very much for sharing! Would you consider posting a step by step tutorial on doing the banners, in the P&M Tutorials forum?
