Basically I am in Afg, and I cannot get canned spray paint out here. So I am looking at some air brush kits on ebay and amazon that have a very small profile. I know that it will probably be pretty cheap, but I really just need it to put the prime/base coat. If someone can help I would appreciate it. I am not looking for something too expensive or superior quality. I just need it to prime/base my models in Afghanistan.
I came across this one, and I would like your opinion.

That airbrush will probably suite your needs just fine. Only concern would be powering it. Do you have access to Propel, or some other version of canned air? I safely assume that a typical air compressor is out of the question.
If you can, their are conversion parts for hooking your airbrush up to an inflated tire, if that helps a little. You'd just need an in-line pressure regulator.
Good luck dude, be safe.

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one? |

I don't know much about air brushes, but you could try paint on primer.
Of course, from my time in Bagram, the dust would be so bad that I doubt I'd try painting anything out there, it'd be covered in moondust in 5 minutes or less. Plus I would have no idea how to get models out of there without being smashed.

What I linked has a mini-compressor. I know that being out here an real compressor is out of the question, but that is why I was looking at this one or a similar one. Automatically Appended Next Post: Indarys wrote:I don't know much about air brushes, but you could try paint on primer.

I dont have much experience with paint on primer. How many coats are we looking at to generally get a solid primer coat?

if your gonna use it for priming and basecoating you might wanna get a one with a bigger compressor with a small air tank!
without a thank it will overheat faster so you cant spray for longer periods of time. a tank will also lengthen the lifespan of the compressor because it wont be working all the time
