I am being abandoned in Norwich - which is the UK... by work for 3 months and am terrified there will only be cousins marrying rather than gaming. Are there any gamers about?

You're in luck mate, theres a few places to game.

Warpath:- Meets on Mondays and have a thread here on these boards.

Aftermath:- Meets on Tuesday but you need an invite to go since they're a bit full up.

Last Stand:- Meets on Thursdays, though they're primarily 40K and are a little tight on space.

UEA Gamessoc does wargames on a Saturday on the university campus during term time.

Other than that theres a GW and a LGS called Starwynn Games.

So, what games do you play?

Play loads of stuff, depending on what i have with me.

Getting into 40k again after a long break.

Play alot of WM when I can. Like tournaments.

Gone back into boardgames too as long as they dont take 20 hours to play.

Awesome, can give you a few games of WM then.

Gamessoc do Board and Card Games on a Wednesday evening, worth popping a post on their forums.

Hello bobbyC...

Would you be interested in joining us at Maelstrom Games, Mansfield, for a 40K Narrative Campaign Weekend at the end of the year?

All of the details are in the dakka thread we are using to co-ordinate the event. Just follow this banner/link!

I've mentioned it on the warpath thread a few times but if you go to their games nights, or any of the others in Norwich and fancy bringing a few people with you...

+1 here for Last Stand. A highly important point that Stormwell failed to mention is that Last Stand is based out of the upstairs function room of a pub, meaning that drinking and wargaming happen hand in hand, good times!! I won't be there for at least 2 weeks (work, meh) but if you turn up and say hi someone will show you how things work. There are usually almost as many people drinking/socialising as actually playing so you'll find people with time to talk to you, who aren't deeply engrossed in a game at that particular moment.

We have a website here: http://www.norwichlaststand.co.uk/about_us/ and there's a facebook page too.

P.S: Try not to get too nervous when someone pulls off a particularly good dice roll and shouts out "High six!!" whilst holding their hand up for a palm slap... this is Norfolk after all.
